“The cottage contained every thing one might need and was fitted out to a very high stnadard.”
The owners had gone to considerable trouble and had been very thoughtful in what they provided. A welcome pack of essentials, bread, wine (!) etc. made us feel very welcome. A supply of books, DVDs, board games, good internet and local maps were all provided. The pub at the end of the drive had good beer and food. This was probably the most comfortable and thoughtful rented accommodation we have had over many years.
“It is our second visit to Warren House.”
We love it; it is spacious, tasteful and beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything is provided that you could possibly wish for, and there are lots of personal touches. The property is quiet, private, and located in a good position for travelling to places of interest. It is an exceptional property in a lovely area. Thank you again John and Jane.
“We can't thank John and Jane enough for this amazing holiday.”
Their hospitality was outstanding. The Cottage is beautiful, in such a stunning location. They had thought of everything we may need and more. All the beds were extremely comfortable. We just wished we had been staying for a two week duration instead of one week.
“Absolutely beautiful house, so many lovely touches in every room!”
Basket of food on arrival, lovely owners who were there on hand if needed. We recommend this cottage without reservation. So close to the beautiful lake district. Such a comfortable and luxurious stay!
“This property was excellent.”
Well equipped with good quality furnishings and fittings. Been to lots of holiday cottages in the past, this was the best, a real Home from Home. The owner was helpful and friendly. The owner also supplied a useful hamper of food and drinks which we were not expecting. The cottage is ideally situated for the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. My only criticism would be that the website photos do not do the property justice. If you are thinking of visiting the Lakes or Yorkshire dales look on further than this property.
“A truly beautiful home from home.”
Immaculately presented and surgically clean. A lot of work has obviously gone into making this property to the standard it is... We have stayed in rental homes for the past 4 years now and this was the most impressive by a country mile. The owners have done a tremendous job. Really nice guy too when we met him. Thanks for having us
“A huge thank you to John and Jane for being the most superb hosts we've ever met.”
Their cottage is stunning, a true home from home with a fully equipped kitchen, very generous welcome pack of groceries and gift packs of essential toiletries in the bathrooms. They really have thought of everything. We can't recommend Warren House highly enough
Clean, cozy, warm. Treatment received by owner could not have been better. Lots of valuable details (I.e. basic food available, etc). Great location Absolutely recommendable
“I have to say I was very impressed with the cottage, both with the standard of finish and how well equipped it was.”
It is a credit to the owners and I would definitely have no problem in recommending this cottage to anyone.
We stayed at Warren House for the half term week in October with our two boys, my parents-in-law & sister-in-law and all had a fantastic time. The owners have put considerable thought into the presentation of the property and not once did we think "oh there could do with being a.....". Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, who lives next door, and when we did have a problem with the heating he was straight round to sort it out. The lovely surprise of some essential supplies in the fridge meant we didn't have to run straight out to find the supermarket. Warren House is ideally suited to explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire. There is also a pub at the end of the drive that serves food which, although slightly pricey, was really nice. We will definitely be back for another visit in the future.
“Superb accommodation in a great area”
Warren house was a wonderful place to stay. The accommodation was spacious and very good for my older children and family. The cottage is in a great location to explore the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lancashire Coast. The owners have thought about the property really well to make our holiday as relaxing as possible. It is very well equipped and beautifully finished. They were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this cottage as a place to stay and myself and my family are thinking about going back again next year.

About the location
Kendal 9 miles.
An attractive market town, Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, midway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The town was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and holds a 13th century Market Charter. Nowadays, Thursday is market day, a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive shops in the town, or the many 17th and 18th century buildings which still stand. The town was also a finalist for the High Street of the Year Award in 2016. This part of the Lune Valley was a favourite haunt of the artist Turner, and was made famous by Ruskin – his "view" of the valley is still spectacular. The medieval Devil’s Bridge spans the river, and the quiet country lanes are ideal for exploring by car, bike, or even horse. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, fishing and a variety of riverside and country walks, making the area an ideal location for a break, whatever time of year.
