  • "A lovely cottage in a nice location."

Our dog loved the large garden and some lovely walks along the canal tow path which is very close by.

  • "Property may benefit from having fans on the stove which is quite old and burns a lot of logs with not a lot of heat."

Although the rear of the property is not overlooked some sort of curtain or covering over the patio doors would be nice for privacy. Must be great in Summer with the huge back garden and facilities but I thought the canal in the listing was a short walk behind the property when in fact the garden is totally enclosed. In fact dont know where the canal is although it assume it is nearby. The property itself is very nice with a sort of new/old theme and clearly expensively done. The worst part of the property is the small single vehicle track which is the only way in, is full of potholes and few overtaking points when encountering any other vehicle. Luckily it is only a short road but it does have a small bridge to cross which isn't for the faint hearted.

  • "We had a lovely time at 2 Morton Cottages."

Upon arrival we found the cottage to be beautifully clean, warm, cosy and inviting. Within a few minutes our little dog was already asleep so that was a very good sign! The area is lovely and quiet and has lots of places for nice walks, but is also very close to amenities in Garstang. The garden area was perfect for us with having a yard out of the kitchen doors, and then the large field at the back for the dog to run around in. The facilities were excellent and the beds were so comfortable, we had the best nights sleep we have had in a long time. We really didn't want to go home and will definitely be looking to stay again soon. Thank you to the owners for this wonderful place to stay.

Thank you so much for the great feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. Can’t wait to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

  • "A very delightful mid terrace cottage, in the countryside, but only a short distance from all amenities."

Very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. We did not use the out door space, but it was ample and the garden would have been ideal for our dog.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We two and our dog had a really lovely week in beautiful peaceful Winmarleigh the weather was very hot sunny everyday."

..bit too hot sometimes but hey cant do anything about that. The very rural position of cottage was just bliss lovely quiet lane / footpaths/canal tow path walks and ability to walk into Garstang from the cottage. Garstang is a lovely town. Plenty to do in the area. The property was beautifully decorated and beautifully set up ready for our visit and very comfortable with a yard on doorstep to sit out in and a huge meadow like garden to sit out in. Sadly due to VERY hot weather and no shade ...no umbrellas on property we were unable to sit out most of time only late evening or early morning. Would like to make some useful suggestions ...want this to be helpful for future people open plan layout ..a stairgate would be helpful Umbrellas for back yard and garden a hair drier (had to go and buy one gave up packing one years ago as properties always have one nowadays) the kitchen was not well equipped just the bare minimum of crockery and utensils and not suitable crocks/drinking things for children..i would think a group of four people would struggle lack of information only one laminated sheet with a little info on a few leaflets etc from tourist info nothing to tell you about dealing with waste recycling bin collection day etc...neighbour was very helpful he explained and put bins out for us would also suggest a guest book these are always good and very helpful ways of gaining information about the area ie walks places to eat and places to visit etc i dont want to sound negative because cottage is beautiful so is area and so much to see and do but feel these things would be beneficial to a better stay

  • "Beautiful cottage, we enjoyed the birds song in the mornings & evenings sat on the patio with a brew, unfortunately the grass in the field was very overgrown on arrival, it was however cut before we left, so my son finally got to play football."

The beds were very comfortable too. The only thing we would recommend would be some handsoap in both bathroom & kitchen. We will be back!

  • "This cottage was just beautiful!"

From the moment we stepped through the front door we could tell it was going to be lovely, even nicer than on the photos. Everything in it was tasteful, homely and most importantly spotlessly clean. The garden was huge and beyond amazing, just what our elderly dog needed to bimble about in. Also it was secure. Everything you needed was there and shops and places to go were not too far away so it's ideally located too. All round great weekend stay, thank you. Like a previous review stated it's really tight to park your car on the front and not space outside to leave it on the road as it's like a country lane. Maybe a couple of hooks on backs of bathroom/bedroom door would be useful. If we had to be picky, again as previously stated the bathroom is really cold and the builders renovating next door were really noisy but that's not the owners fault and we were lucky to miss it as it was just for a weekend. Just book it you wont be sorry :)

  • "This was our second time staying at the cottage, and it was just as lovely as we remembered it."

It was really cosy and warm upstairs and down and felt just like home. The only downside was the cottage next door is being renovated, and the man likes to arrive at 5.30am and make lots of noise. He’s usually gone by 9, and it only happened twice, but I do like a lie in on holiday!! This is out of the control of the owners of the holiday cottage so they can’t rectify it, it wouldn’t put me off returning for a third time though.
