  • "Cranesbill was very nice."

but we have a 3 legged dog and she could not climb the stairs so we had to take her to the field gate behind and take her into the kitchen that way. The internet connection stopped us getting onto certain sites, so poor on that count. Overall stay was good and would use Cranesbill Barn again

  • "Lovely quirky cottage and well based for surrounding areas."

Could do with a bit of updating and although the beds/towels were spotless the place could of done with a decent cleaning. Adequate crockery/cutlery and utensils but the shower desperately needs a slip mat, actually slipped a couple times but luckily no real damage done. Also feel that you need to pop an outdoor light at the front entrance. Arriving back after dark we both nearly broke our necks on the front garden. Which brings me to the subject of the gardens. They really do need some TLC, even if the weather had been perfect we couldn't of used it because it is so overgrown!!!!. Otherwise we enjoyed our break away. Also the overwhelming smell of the heating oil/diesel fumes is very bad. Maybe the boiler needs looking at.

  • "We contacted the office in person on Monday after arrival due to some issues we were having."

Tye office promised to come back to us once they had contacted the owner. The next day we received an email to say that they had not yet contacted the owner and we would here in due course. A week later, having left the property, we are still waiting for someone to contact us even after we returned an email to you!! We came into the Keswick office on the Thursday and a very nice lady by the name of Emma Taylor promised to raise a case for us to enable our concerns to be heard

  • "The back garden desperately needed some work doing, even just cutting the grass!"

In the utility room, there was a terrible smell of gas whenever the boiler was on. We shut the door and opened the window which made it OK, but I'm pretty sure it needs looking at. Otherwise the cottage was comfortable and had all we needed for a relaxing break.
