  • "One of the best places we have stayed in with Sykes over the years."

Very clean, comfortable and spacious. We stayed in February and the cottage was always very cosy and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and the downstairs shower/toilet was a bonus. Nice little rear garden for our border collie to use. The cottage itself is in a very peaceful hamlet, but there are some beautiful places to visit in Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dale's, which are just a car ride away. A cottage we would definitely return too. All in all

  • "Our second stay at Croft Cottage."

Loved it as much as our visit last year although with a different pooch. The weather was challenging but it didn’t stop us going for long walks. Visited the kilns at Craven Lime Works, Langcliffe, an exceptionally wet walk round Ribblehead Viaduct, another wet walk at Windermere, a very windy walk up by Gaping Gill. We had a great time

  • "When a negative becomes a positive!"

No list of dos and donts. No ornaments to hide to keep safe. No superfluous cushions and pillows on the beds to find space for. This is the warmest cottage we have been in for a winter holiday and we found it very relaxing. As we had snow and icy conditions we couldn't walk far but the garden and large village green enabled our little dog to get enough exercise. Would recommend both cottage and location.

The village is located just off the main road in a lovely quiet countryside setting. The cottage is light and airy with plenty of space and well equipped. We had a lovely welcome pack and Christmas card from the property owners. You’d never know they live next door but available if we needed any help. The enclosed back garden is lovely’ especially with our spaniel, and there’s off road parking in front of the cottage. The downstairs shower/toilet and utility room is very useful. Thankyou Christian and Jayne for a lovely stay.

Great location for local walks without having to travel far. The lounge area and sofa were really comfortable and great for relaxing in the evening with a good sized TV. The enclosed garden was great for the dog, unfortunately we didn’t get to sit out much due to the weather. Bed was also very comfortable so had a good nights sleep. Good powerful shower over bath. Only thing we would suggest would be to have more than one saucepan (could only see one large one) and to get a new wok. It had seen better days and we do do a bit of cooking when we go away. Overall though I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.

Especially being dog secure for our wee dog. She loved just going in/out wandering round the garden. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a good sized fridge freezer, plus a bottle fridge (plug in the cupboard next to it to turn on). Lovely welcome pack with delightful goodies, plus tea/coffee and milk for arrival. Thank you Christian. The tv is excellent for shorter autumn and winter days and the downstairs bathroom and utility room were very useful. Upstairs, the bedrooms are plenty large enough with sufficient clothes storage and the bathroom had one of the most powerful showers I believe you will find anywhere. The location is in a small quiet village just off the main A 65 which means you can access Ribblesdale (incl viaducts) or you can pop over the tops to Hawes and also into Dentdale. Ingleton and Settle are down the road in differing directions and you can also travel southwards and walk in the northern parts of the Forest of Bowland. Malham isn't too far away either. It's a quiet place to stay with access to a lot of great countryside. The New Inn at Clapham is enjoying a bit of a renaissance which was nice to find and the small Italian in Ingleton is highly recommended - but booking is essential. This was our second stay at Croft Cottage and we don't intend it to be our last.

Location perfect for grand walking. All Y3P start options within 9 miles with Ingleborough walkable from the front door. Lots of literature available in the cottage for optional activities if the weather dictates or walking isn't your thing. Light airy and equipped with all we needed. It felt new and high quality. Bedding was comfy and smelled so fresh. The house had plug ins but this wasn’t to mask it was a hint of fragrance. Open plan downstairs was nice with glass doors onto a spacious decking area with steps on to the lawn. Driveway to fit 2 cars side by side. Lighting was a nice touch with dimmable lighting with zoned controlled areas. Velux windows throughout allowing light. Bath was lovely and big with shower over ( separate walk in shower cubicle downstairs) Water pressure good, internet speeds amazing, Netflix, prime available. Across from the property is the village green. A great place to exercise your dog and where you are Lilkely to meet some of the super friendly village locals. Owner of property lives next door so are close if you need anything but do not bother you. We travelled with 2 adults 6 yr, 3 yr old and dog. Garden is secure for the dog. 2 bedrooms with bedroom furniture, hangers, towels, hair dryer. Spare bedding and blankets in the wardrobe if needed. No pub or shop in the village. Nearest is Clapham or Ingleton so would need to drive out however a short walk To a cafe in the village who allow dogs. Some takeaways will deliver to the property and menus are within the property with a welcome pack and many other information leaflets.

This was our second stay and we hope to return yet again. It’s perfect for our needs and is situated in a small village clustered around the village green, a place to unwind and relax with none of the modern pressures of noise and traffic. Wonderful place.

  • "We had a wonderful week in this lovely modern cottage."

We were welcomed with tea, coffee biscuits and a bottle of wine. The large open space downstairs was ideal with 2 little dogs who could access the secure garden easily. The village of Newby is a delight, very peaceful and picturesque and being situated on the periphery of the dales afforded us great walks. We would definitely return and will recommend to our family and friends

  • "Stayed at Croft cottage which we loved!"

On arrival we had a little welcome pack with tea, wine, milk in fridge tea and biscuits. The place was spotless and immaculate, parking right outside the front door on a lovely quiet street overlooking the dales. Perfect for the dogs, spacious, secure garden and little dog blankets provided. There are local villages with nice pubs, and shops either in walking distance or short drive which we accessed for cooking oil and condiments etc. There are plenty of stunning walks all around and there are walking guides provided in the cottage. We will definitely be returning again. Thank you.

  • "Recently stayed in Croft Cottage in the lovely village of Newby ."

The cottage more than met our expectations, from our arrival to departure we couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay. Off road parking right upto the door . The cottage is perfect for a family or like us a couple to relax after a days walking in the very nearby hills . The out door area is perfectly safe and secure for those with a four legged friend. Much looking forward to a return visit in the future.

  • "I was going to write to you to let you know how pleased we were with Croft Cottage in Newby but you pre-empted me."

The situation of the cottage within the village is perfect, there is ample parking and it's very quiet. The house itself was extremely clean and very well equipped, every need was catered for. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were lovely, the shower in the upstairs one is among the best I've used. We loved staying there and immediately felt at home, huge regrets at having to leave it. We shall definitely be back, I recommend it very highly.

  • "What a lovely cottage."

We spent four nights in this beautiful cottage which has everything you could need. Very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The views from the quiet little village where amazing and right on the door step of the three peaks. Would definitely stay there again.

  • "The cottage was absolutely super."

It was spacious, light, very warm, comfortable and extremely well thought out by the owners who had left us a lovely welcome box which included a bottle of wine. The cottage is in a quiet village and is great for walkers & cyclists. We did a circular walk to Ingleborough from the cottage and we also managed to climb Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent which are within a very short drive. We would definitely recommend Croft Cottage & hope to stay there again in the future.

  • "Croft cottage is one of the best we have stayed in."

It is deceptively large, warm, very comfortable and very well equipped. A fabulous welcome pack, especially the new laid eggs. With a lovely south facing garden, perfect for relaxing and somewhere for 4 legged friends to play. Everyone is catered for. It is well positioned for visiting all areas, The Lakes, Dales, Forest of Bowland, and the west coast. Being at the foot of Ingleborough there are walks from the doorstep. I would highly recommend Croft Cottage, can't rate it highly enough.
