  • "This is a lovely cosy little cottage, it is well kept and clean throughout."

If I had to criticise, all I would mention would be either a larger cafetiere or a coffee maker of some sort...but this is being really picky. The owners are very accessable and helpful and I would certainly recommend this place to anyone. There are some lovely local walks and a very friendly CAMRA put across the road, who also do food. Just to note in case anyone is concerned, there was no noise or disruption from the pub. We had lovely peaceful nights sleep, and that was with the window slightly open. Thanks again!

  • "We really enjoyed our week at Cawthorne Cottage."

It had everything that we needed. It was immaculately clean, sofas and beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. The property was warm, plenty of hot water and a washing machine. (We stayed there in a particularly wet and chilly week in August). The landlady was very friendly and talked us through the essentials of our stay. Plenty of local walks and an award winning pub across the road!

  • "A lovely cottage in idyllic setting and very friendly community."

The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We understand the reasoning for no table but really missed having one, not just for eating at but reading newspapers, playing cards etc. the addition of a cafetière in the kitchen would also be great. Minor things which would not prevent us returning again to Cawthorne Cottage, as it is a beautiful place, and near to the delightful Clitheroe. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at Cawthorne cottage. There are two tables stored away under the stairs I’m so sorry that you didn’t find them. We decided after the pandemic not to buy a cafetière so supplied individual coffee bags instead along with individual sugar sachets. We just thought this may be a safer option. Hope to see you both again soon. Regards Victoria. Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved staying at the lovely and cosy Cawthorne Cottage."

It was immaculate when we arrived and the lovely friendly owners took the time to meet us to give us the key and to give us a quick tour. Everything was in good working order and beautifully decorated. The garden is wonderful and we did enjoy drinking our coffee each morning out there. The cottage is in a great location and near so many other villages and towns which we visited. There is also a pub across the road with friendly locals. We would definitely stay at this cottage again. Chris & Julie from Wimbledon.

  • "We were met by the lovely owner Victoria who showed us around this beautiful cottage."

It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable with everything anyone would need including a secret garden! Loads of walks on the doorstep and an amazing real ale pub one minute walk away, they serve excellent food also. Only one regret and that was having to leave but we will be back. Ten out of ten. • "Lovely clean and comfy cottage."

Nice to be the first guests. The ‘secret’ garden is a cool, quiet place to relax and lounge in the shade. While the patio is a great space for dining al fresco. Inside, the cottage is cosy and well equipped, the beds comfortable and the bathroom fresh and modern.

Thank You for this lovely review Janet. We are thrilled your stay with us was pleasant. Thank You also for watering our secret garden and respecting our much loved cottage as much as we do. Will be delighted to welcome you back in the not too distant future. Regards Victoria. Property Owner
