  • "This is an absolutely stunning house!"

Very comfortable, well equipped with all you need for short or long stays. The steam room is a great feature for extra relaxation and recovery after those long walks. The house is very clean, well appointed and extremely spacious.

Thank you so much for your review. I’m really glad you enjoyed your time at Fern Bank and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "The house was generally very clean except a few hairs here and there and also popcorn and Pringles were left under the coffee table in the kitchen lounge area."

Hi thanks for your feedback. Your family were some of my first bookings so I’m really grateful for your review. The house was decorated and furnished to a very high standard. There was plenty of space for everyone, including a lovely big living kitchen/dining area as well as two other separate living rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were very roomy. The bathrooms were all very luxurious, with special mention for the en-suite to the master bedroom including its amazing giant bath and lovely steam room. There was good outside space to enjoy the weather and the kids enjoyed playing in the garden while the adults relaxed with a glass of wine. The location was excellent – nice and peaceful=but within walking distance of the little town centre (although the return walk was harder as the house is located at the top of a bank). The town centre itself has lots of little restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets (including an M&S food). There was also a little park a short walk away with lovely views over the hills, which the children enjoyed. There are plenty of tourist attractions within a reasonable drive too, including Lowther Castle (which is also recommended) and Ullswater lake. All in all, I’d recommend this to others and already looking at dates for our next trip

  • "Newly refurbished with a lovely open plan kitchen with large entertaining spaces overlooking the garden, including a family room for kids."

The kids had a great time playing in the garden which is nice and safe. Each bedroom is en-suite making it perfect for groups of couples or families. It feels very homely as soon as you walk in. Nice and peaceful and great location in the Lake District.
