  • "We were very pleased with the lodge."

....we can't really find anything negative to say about it. The locks were a little 'testing' at times but nothing we couldn't deal with. We were fortunate to have lovely weather when we stayed and were able to make use of the outside area which was great. Whilst we didn't eat in the restaurant we did enjoy a drink sat outside overlooking the lake. The location is also very handy for visiting the lakes...all in all we had a brilliant time and we would definitely like to return.

  • "We absolutely loved the property."

It felt so homely and welcoming. Our girls loved playing some of the board games available on a rainy afternoon and my husband loved having the big screen since his football team were playing one evening. We had a wonderful stay!

  • "Lovely lodge, perfect for our quiet Christmas break."

Great facilities. The only problem was the front door was difficult to unlock/ lock.

  • "Lovely lodge which felt home from home with everything we needed (other than a cheese grater)."

Great location with lots to do on your doorstep or an easy trip into the lakes. The only things to note are the directions on the site to find the lodge are difficult to navigate in the dark so a site map would be helpful and the on-site restaurant was very poor. We would definitely stay again though.

  • "There are a few things."

I have spoken to the owner and he said to contact yourselves. I had to replace the main bathroom light bulb which was tricky as some previous customer had broken it trying to get it out. Don't worry, I won't request a £4 refund for the bulb (possibly stock bulbs in the property). Netflix wasn't available as it needed a password which we didn't have. The door key was very difficult to turn and it seemed the lock was giving up. The main bathroom shower is very poor in it's operation. Very low pressure with mixer taps that were tricky to get right. The bathroom could do with door hooks to hang robes/clothes on whilst showering. Shaving sockets would be useful in both bathrooms. There were no instructions we could find on how to operate the central heating system. The site restaurant was extremely disappointing and this could be pointed out in the welcome pack. Regards.

  • "Loved the lodge."

Loved the position as not directly overlooked. Living area & kitchen lovely & spacious. Little extras like doggie blankets, boot holders were really appreciated. For us the bedrooms definitely need an overhaul. Wallpaper was peeling off, bed positioned so you couldn’t access one of the wardrobes. Just felt tired & needed a spruce up. That said didn’t spoil our stay at all would deffo stay again & highly recommend the lodge & park,

  • "This lodge was like a home from home."

We felt relaxed instantly and enjoyed the comfortable surroundings. This is a great base for exploring, food shops are close to hand and a host of activity ideas are available. I would agree with another reviewer, that access to a park map before arrival would be handy to locate the lodge, particularly after a long journey and arriving in the dark. We enjoyed our stay and our dog loved exploring the park and area.
