  • "We had an amazing stay."

Very comfortable, cosy and homely. Very nice and clean. It had everything we needed especially all the little extras that made it feel very relaxing place to stay. Loved the little welcome pack too. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Thank you. Just a few pointers which we feel are constructive not at all to be seen as negative. As it was very bad weather and a lot of rain the grassed area around the boarder of the caravan and car parking area all seemed to merge and got very muddy. We had to tread carefully as we were quite concerned about all the mud and dirt as we didn't want to bring any into the caravan. Maybe something better to separate the grass from footpath/parking area. Also the window in the main bedroom there is a slight gap at the top when closed. Maybe needs looking into. A sharp knife, bread knife and a pair of scissors would have been useful. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Thankyou so much for your feedback, we have replaced the missing items from the kitchen and also let maintenance know about window and grass areas. So glad you enjoyed your stay at Hedgehog Lodge Sue and Martyn Property Owner

  • "I would just like to start with how impressed I was with Hedgehog Lodge, it was immaculate and so homely."

Loved the lodge and the facilities, a fantastic base to travel around the Lakes and surrounding area. I have dropped one point on facilities and this is only down to the internet speed that is available in the lodge, at some points I was getting less than 2mb. I know some might say you are away and turn your laptop and phone, which I must agree is the right thing to do, but I needed to do some work whilst away and the speed was an issue. Don't like to end on a negative, would I stay at Hedgehog Lodge again, most definitely, it is a credit to Sue and Martyn. Many Thanks for letting us stay in your fantastic Lodge. Regards C & A H.

A maintenance issue was quickly resolved by the owner. Lacking some utensils (bread knife and cullender) and the availability of a car pass would be useful. Description is accurate.

Very clean with everything you need and the kids loved spotting the little hedgehogs throughout the lodge. The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful in directing us to local attractions and amenities. Great onsite facilities and a lovely atmosphere of tranquility to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. The only negative was having to come away. We can't wait to go back again.

Unfortunately the patio doors although they appeared to be locked from the inside where unlocked from the outside, we therefore had to take our valuables everywhere we went. Another small point which has nothing to do with your lodge. The neighbours hot tub droned from7.30am to 11.15pm everyday continually.

! Wish we were staying longer however that will be the plan next time round. Couldn't fault the accommodation on anything at all. The facilities within the site could be a little better though. Don't get me wrong the surroundings were beautiful and kept in pristine condition. The only minor downfall was the absence of a shop for your everyday groceries. This I feel is a necessity and would be very beneficial. The lighting at night was extremely non existent we had to put on our torch to take our dog out last thing before bedtime. Enclosed litter bins especially for you to dispose of your dogs poo bag would be very useful too. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

  • "Amazing and beautiful lodge, so cosy and had everything you needed."

however the owner being outside the lodge before 9.30 when check out is 10.00am and staring at us leaving and the second we got in the car edged forward was very uncomfortable and off putting. Surely she could have waited in the carpark until 10.00am. It just didnt feel right at all. Be warned if you want to eat in the restaurant you have to book, we couldn’t get in due to not booking but was not informed of this information. Wasn’t even allowed takeaway food. Overall beautiful location and stunning lodge. I would return again.

Thank you Mrs Parker for taking the time in leaving a review for Hedgehog Lodge, we have been in touch with the lady who turns around the lodge for next guests and reminded her that it is 10 am for check out. She didn't mean to cause any concern. Thank you again for reviewing and so glad you enjoyed the lodge and beautiful surroundings. Many thanks Sue and Martyn Property Owner

  • "What a brilliant place to stay."

Communication was great from the owner. The instructions were very clear for how to find it (the caravan park is a bit of a labyrinth). It was great to arrive and find such a well presented, well furnished cosy lodge to stay. The biscuits and Kendal mint cake were very much appreciated. The information booklet was great. There take away recommendations are indeed vary nice and the "days out" recommendations were spot on too. Although we didn't spend much time around the caravan park, we did enjoy exploring the local area, somewhere we hadn't really been before. There is plenty to see and do and we are planning another visit whenever we can spare the time. Thanks for a great holiday.

The Lodge itself is exquisite, luxurious yet homely, warm and inviting. You will find cute little hedgehogs hidden in every room, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. If you are treating your dog to a holiday too then rest assured you four legged friend will also be spoilt, a jar of dog treats, large doggy microfibre towel, blankets, poop bags & food and water bowls are all available. The quality of the furnishings is second to none from the duvets to the towels. You will also find sparkling cutlery and all the kitchen utensils & appliances you could ever need during your stay. Not only did we enjoy the tranquil environment inside the lodge but we also took advantage of the seating area located at the front balcony, not to mention the table and chairs for outside dining. The welcome pack provided by the owners is full of really useful information from leisure village activities, local takeaways (including menus) restaurants/pubs, nearest shop and the owners favourite walks. The lodge is in a great location for exploring the Lakes, every walk, hike or mountain bike trail is only a drive away with the most stunning views to enjoy along the way. This accommodation is far more than just a place to rest your head it’s a place to recharge your batteries, enjoy and relax.
