  • "Lodge is beautiful, modern, clean, cosy and in a good location close to the restaurant, lake and facilities."

Wrap around decking is great - if you get good weather, the deck gets the sun for most of the afternoon and evening. Seat cushions were a welcome bonus for the patio seats. Lots of storage space throughout. Wifi signal brilliant. Good size tv in the lounge with good range of channels, plenty of space to sit comfortably to watch a film or your favourite soaps. Beds were really comfortable, bedding was spotlessly clean. Plenty of hangars and wardrobe space. The large en suite bathroom was fabulous behind the master bedroom. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cups, glasses and crockery. Oven is easy to use. Good road links around the site. Tescos, Aldi & Booths are a 5 minute drive away for food and essentials. Just a few minor things to mention, it's nothing that spoilt our holiday, but could do with addressing or consideration for future occupants; ●The cobwebs on the light fixings and higher areas throughout the lodge could do with a little attention to detail ●A bath mat would be very useful for the large shower in the en suite, as it can get quite slippy ●Ironing board would be better placed with the hoover and iron in the left hand wardrobe in the master bedroom, and not on the top of the kitchen cupboards where it isn't easily located (we only found it because of the reflection of the cover was showing on the ceiling) ●One of the seats on the decking has broken slats, so is therefore unusable ●Bin lid broken on kitchen bin ●Lavatory brushes (although modern) are a nightmare to clean the toilet with ●The quilt and some of the pillows in the master bedroom are lumpy in places ●Sliding patio doors hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, they were dirty on the inside. You could see where a previous occupants dog has had its nose on multiple areas of the glass ●A strip of highly restricted prescription medication was found in one of the drawers in the master bedroom. This could have been very dangerous if it had of been found by an unsupervised child or vulnerable adult ●Large knives in kitchen are not sharp enough, so cutting a pizza was difficult. A pizza cutter would be a bonus ●No scissors in the kitchen drawer. These would have been useful ●Tv is very precariously placed on the tv unit in the lounge, it could easily be knocked when closing the curtains, or by a small child or playful dog. We would definitely love to stay in Lakeside Retreat again. However, as the lodge is up for sale, we would be reluctant to book too far in advance, in case the new owner does not want to rent it out, and our booking was not honoured and got cancelled. We will definitely keep an eye out for it on Sykes nearer the time we want to re book later this year though

Thankyou for your positive feedback it’s much appreciated. With regards to the few issues all these points have now been addressed apart from the tv which unfortunately there is not much can be done about this without purchasing a smaller tv which we feel would be too small to compliment the lodge. The cleaning issues have been resolved and finding the tablets in the drawer was unacceptable and thanks for pointing this out Property Owner
