    “Beautiful Cottage with Amazing Views”

Just returned from a weeks stay at Meadowbank Cottage with my husband and two children (5,1). The cottage surpassed all expectations. It was clean, stylish with all the mod cons. The views are absolutely stunning, having a hot tub out the back is a bonus. The hot tub is checked several times a day to ensure the chlorine levels are correct etc so I always felt that it was safe. The extra touches in the cottage were great: wine on our arrival, small toiletries in the bathroom, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, aromatherapy oil for the diffuser in the bedroom. My 5 year old especially liked the huge garden at the front of the cottage and the park just up the hill. All this within a 5 minute walk of Pooley Bridge! I would love to return one day, had a fantastic time.

The property

Meadowbank Cottage is located in Hillcroft Park, a short distance from the centre of Pooley Bridge, situated in the northern Lake District region.

Set across one floor, this semi-detached property offers a well-equipped stay that is ideal for those who might have difficulty with stairs. The property has a spacious and light living room with two large sofas and a television, an electric fire providing a comforting warmth on cold evenings, and a media kit to keep you entertained.

Adjoined to the living room area is a kitchen with a dining table and all the equipment you need to create some culinary delights.

A small utility room houses a washer and dryer.

The master double bedroom and twin bedroom offer sleeping space for four people and the cottage is equipped with a family bathroom. Much of the magic of Meadowbank Cottage can be found in its exterior spaces.

At the front of the property is a seating area with gorgeous views out over the fells in the direction of Ullswater, a truly inspiring backdrop for your morning coffee.

To the rear of the property is a large lawn area, ideal for playful children, and a terrace with a hot tub for indulgent evenings. This property is located in Hillcroft Park, a caravan/lodge park, which is well placed for getting into central Pooley Bridge.

In the middle of town, you’ll find shops, bars and cafes.

There’s a shop in Hillcroft Park, too, which is open between March and October.

The park also has a communal playground, which is a great place for the kids to make friends.

Nearby Lake Ullswater provides a beautiful countryside walk. Beyond the park and Lake Ullswater, you have the rest of this stunning region to explore.

The natural beauty in the northern fells of the Lake District is an awe-inspiring sight, and you can take the holiday at your own pace with a range of different walking routes available.

If you’re seeking adventure, try Parkfoot Adventure on the lake, or, if history is more your thing, the medieval Dalemain House is worth a visit. About the location

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
