The property

Stable Cottage, just 400m from the shores of romantic Ullswater, is the perfect base for a family holiday in the picturesque Lake District. With spacious accommodation for four people and full use of the facilities at the nearby Pooley Bridge Holiday park, this pretty, stone-built, semi-detached cottage has everything you need for a fabulous family holiday. The spacious sitting room has a feature stone fireplace with electric fire, comfortable sofas and lovely views of the large shared garden through the patio doors.

The separate dining kitchen has a cottage feel, but is fully equipped, and there's a downstairs cloakroom with wash basin and WC.

Upstairs are two light and airy bedrooms, one double with a bed settee and one twin room, plus a family bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC. Step out through the patio doors to a private patio with seating, ideal for a morning coffee, afternoon tea or a glass of wine or local craft beer in the evening.

Use of the extensive and very pretty lawned garden is shared with the adjoining property, the Coach House.

There's also private off road parking for two cars. The real appeal of Stable Cottage lies in its location, just a few yards away from Pooley Bridge Holiday Park.Bar and restaurant is open weekends from Easter to Whit then fully open every day until September.

Weekends only during October.

During the summer season entertainment is laid on with children's discos, live entertainment, licensed bar and beer garden, during the summer school holidays a children's club is operated and there is a restaurant with take away service available.

This family run holiday park has a shop, lake access, children's playgrounds, amusements, pony trekking to nearby Barton Fell, mountain bike hire and so much more.

It's perfect for a family holiday with everything taken care of for you.

Children will love the summer kids' club, while adults will relish the opportunity to try out a wide range of water sports.

Lively Pooley Bridge village is just a mile away with shops and pubs, while a visit to the incredible waterfall at Aira Force is unmissable.

If you want to explore the South Lakes, then a trip over the scenic Kirkstone Pass to Ambleside and Windermere is a must.

For golf, swimming and the cinema, bustling Penrith, known as the gateway to the North Lakes, is just five miles away.

If you're looking for fine dining, then the nearby Sharrow Bay Hotel is one of the best restaurants in the world.

POOLEY BRIDGE

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
