Pooley Bridge Holiday Park

Pooley Bridge Holiday Park located on the banks of Lake Ullswater offers a range of static and touring caravans, lodges and cottages and has excellent facilities all year round plus extra facilities during summer months. All year round there is an onsite shop, tennis court, table tennis, pool tables, amusements, 2 childrens’ play areas, pony trekking to Barton Fell and mountain bike hire. For extra fun during the summer season there is entertainment with children’s discos, live entertainment, a licensed bar and beer garden and during the summer school holidays the park runs a childrens’ club and offers restaurant services too. Don’t forget all the water sports available on the lake – sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, boat hire and fishing and with boat launching available you could bring your own boat if you so wish. With so much to see and do on the park you will be spoilt for choice and nearby you can discover traditional lakeside villages with pubs, cafes and shops or why not visit the spectacular Aira Force waterfall.

The property

This 2-bedroom terraced cottage is located at the foot of Barton Fell, and just above Pooley Bridge Holiday Park, with amazing views across Ullswater. With a stone exterior and cosy rooms, this 2-storey cottage feels like home, but with stunning views across Lake Ullswater, that are even better from the cottage balcony.

With 2 bedrooms, the cottage is ideal for a friends, or couples holiday, and with so much to do, there's also plenty to suit a family holiday. Entering the cottage, the lounge/diner has a cosy feel, with comfortable sofas, including a sofa bed, a lovely fireplace with an electric log burning stove, TV, video and DVD player for those days when you just want to relax, and a dining set to have your meals in style.

Moving into the pretty kitchen, you'll find all the usual amenities, including a microwave, electric cooker, dishwasher and a fridge freezer, with plenty of cupboard space for easy meals.

Taking the stairs, you'll find a lovely double bedroom with a hand basin, and a twin bedroom with patio doors that lead to a balcony giving you views of Lake Ullswater to die for.

A well-fitted bathroom with a bath, shower over the bath, WC and hand basin completes the first floor. A courtyard outside has a bench and table set for al fresco dining, overlooking spectacular countryside, and you also have access to a shared barbeque. With Pooley Bridge Holiday Park on your doorstep, you don't need to go far for entertainment, with a local shop, tennis court, pool tables, table tennis, two childrens' playgrounds, mountain bike hire, pony trekking, and lake access with a boat that you can take a ride on that leaves straight from the Park.Bar and restaurant is open weekends from Easter to Whit then fully open every day until September.

During the summer season entertainment is laid on with children's discos, live entertainment, licensed bar and beer garden, during the summer school holidays a children's club is operated and there is a restaurant with take away service available.

As if that wasn't enough, during the summer, your children can enjoy discos and a children's club, and you can relax with live entertainment, a beer garden, a licensed bar, and a restaurant that offers a takeaway service.

Out on Ullswater Lake, the more adventurous among you can try out windsurfing, canoeing and sailing, or hire a boat and try your hand at fishing. The Lake District is well known for its spectacular views, lovely villages and shops to explore, and Pooley Bridge is a good place to start with its café, shops, and the village inn.

Explore further with the amazing waterfall, Aira Force, dine in style at Sharrow Bay Hotel, or take a trip to Ambleside for more shopping and dining, or a day out to Penrith, with the golf course and driving range, and heated indoor swimming pool. You couldn't pick a better spot for a holiday with easy access to the rest of the Lake District, and so much to do you could stay for a month and still not see everything!

POOLEY BRIDGE

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
