"The owners of Ivy Cottage have put much thought and effort into creating a lovely, relaxing retreat in the beautiful village of Priest Hutton."
The Secret Garden was a particular haven for our dog and us too on a couple of warm, sunny afternoons. We loved it.

"The accomodation was exactly as described on the website the cottage was very clean and quite comfortable, the owners live just behind the property so were on hand if required but we had no need to contact them."
The welcome pack was a nice touch and we had a very relaxing and enjoyable break walking the dog along the canal and shopping.

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Ivy Cottage."
The beds were very comfortable, bathroom and kitchen facilities good. The cottage is very cosy with a lot of character: lovely wooden beams, and evenings spent by a wood burner…The porch was a wonderful space both to store shoes and walking boots and to sit in with a book. The little ‘secret garden’ was delightful. Our hosts were very friendly and so helpful before we even got there: Eric set up a hose so we could wash our dog’s muddy paws and there was even a dog bowl.
Priest Hutton is a beautiful village, very tranquil and peaceful. We enjoyed several long hikes both more locally and in the Lakes which are not far away and discovered the beautiful beaches and vistas at Arnside and Silverdale. I highly recommend Ivy Cottage.

"Ivy Cottage is a lovely property,we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our dog Lenny loved the fully enclosed gardens."
The village is very quiet and a very peaceful place to wind down and relax, even when its teaming with rain outside and cold, there is a log burner keeping you warm and cosy inside.
Superbly positioned Priest Hutton is situated between the Lancashire, and the Lake District, with the likes of Morcombe and Kendal a 25 to 30 min drive away depending if you want seaside or lakes.
We found most places dog friendly a great base for you and your 4 legged friend.
A cottage as soon as you stayed you will want to come back to.

"This is a lovely spot for a holiday and the cottage is most pleasant."
Comfortable beds, good bathroom facilities and a general air of comfort. The owners are on hand for any issues but completely unobtrusive, a real bonus for any little questions or advice.
If I were to make any comment at all it would be to say the kitchen isn't over-stocked with utensils and crockery; some folks actually do like to cook when on holiday! But it's a minor detail in a very cosy and delightful in bolt-hole.

We booked this cottage in March as a lil get away and something to look forward to as we hadn’t been away for 7 years
Honestly can’t fault the cottage , cosy and comfortable with lovely features such as open beams , log burning fire and little porch area
We took our dog and had a lovely garden and extra side garden that featured a bbq area which would be great in summer that was well enclosed with an apple tree
The village is quiet and tucked away with little walks in the country seeing sheep / cows yet in driving distance of villages and near a farm / shop and pub
The standard of the rooms were great , perfect size and clean rooms , beds were comfy and facilities faultless
Had good wifi connection and like a home away from home , couldn’t of enjoyed it any more and are looking to book again for a few months time

"Lovely cottage with 2 small gardens safe for the dog."
Had everything you wanted for a relaxing stay. It was roadside parking though & we did manage to park ok every day but narrow roads so not great if you have a large vehicle.
Lots of places nearby to visit for walks with the dog. Owners live behind the cottage & are as on hand as you want them to be. Nice touches, flowers & 'hotel' bathroom toiletries & tea/coffee etc.
Would go back if wanted to go to that area again.

"Lovely cottage with good facilities, very clean and particularly suitable for dog owners."
The two enclosed garden areas were excellent and the child gate at the bottom of the stairs replicated our home set up, so the dog was happy staying downstairs. Covid adjustments were fine and we liked having the Cottage Information pack via e mail. Very good instructions to all facilities, particularly making a fire for the log burner which we had no experience of previously. Excellent wi fi and well equipped kitchen.
Our only very small negatives would be that the bath towels provided were on the small side and the on-street parking was not ideal, but it wasn't an issue.
Overall, an excellent property, thank you

"We had a lovely few days at Ivy Cottage."
Very clean with all Covid hygiene measures in place and stringently applied.
The cottage is warm and comfortable, very well equipped and lovely to return to after exploring the beautiful countryside on the doorstep.
The master bedroom was extremely well appointed and the bed very comfortable - it felt like a suite in a high end hotel!
The side garden belonging to Ivy Cottage was an added bonus, although we were unable to make much use of it due to the time of year.
The weather was mixed during our stay but it didn't prevent our long walks and trips further afield. Carnforth is extremely handy for shopping as well as the train station for the historical context and public transport.
Owners, Hilary and Eric were on hand to help with any queries, and were very kind and considerate.
We can highly recommend Ivy Cottage for a break away in this lovely village with wonderful countryside to explore within easy reach. We hope to be back soon.

There were plenty of coat hangers and space to put walking boots etc. The lounge had a great wood burner and it was always warm with the storage heaters which were timed. Great beds and very comfortable with nice bedding. Lots of room in the top bedroom with a good ensuite and a lovely bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. "This was a really lovely cottage."
The location was very convenient for visiting The Lakes and The Dales. The cottage itself is very tastefully decorated, and comfortably accommodated 3 adults and a labrador. The only slight down side is the parking which is on the lane outside the house, but the village is not busy so this didn't turn out to be any real issue. To get to the shop (which is Aldi or Booths) you will need to drive, but there is a great pub/restaurant within walking distance (approx 1 mile) which takes dogs and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this cottage and I will be visiting it again.

"Ivy cottage is ideally located to access beautiful countryside for a number of stunning walks, for which the owners helpfully provided leaflets and maps aswell as other literature re: the surrounding area."
Priest Hutton is also well placed to provide easy access to many interesting towns and villages, aswell as the beautiful nearby coast. We had a really comfortable & relaxing week. We didn't notice too many 'nearby' pubs & eateries for evening meals, but this isn't a problem for us, as we're happy to do our own cooking at the end of the day, especially in a well equipped kitchen! It must be noted that coming to stay in a clean, tidy, well equipped and beautifully decorated cottage that is also dog friendly is very uplifting! ....not all cottage rental companies pay too much attention to the quality of dog friendly properties, and we've been to lots of cottages!
