  • "It was a lovely cottage which I would recommend to others."

There were two niggles, one was that the boiler kept tripping, which others had also pointed out and the bath plug needs a chain!

  • "On the whole we enjoyed our stay , we are not complainers but there where a few things that we found ."

Kitchen chairs were were small and hard . The shower was rudimentary and the bath was hard to climb in and out of . The cottage was very dog friendly . The bed was really comfortable. The heating was good , we never used the wood burner . We enjoyed our stay . Thank you

  • "One of the best cottage we have stayed in during 14 cottage holidays with Sykes."

The design has been well thought out and implemented. Our only problem which is our main problem is I can't get in and out the bath/shower. The log fire is tremendous with a never ending supply of logs. It was a perfect place in a great position for our return to Lancashire for the first time in 20+ years. You won't be disappointed give it a go!

  • "Amazing! Best self catering I have ever stayed in."

Sounds daft but having things like cling film and foil was so handy. The location was perfect for exploring and the cottage has been renovated so nicely. It was a perfect break!

  • "This is a lovely cottage and so cozy and perfect to chill by the fire after a day exploring the area."

The welcome pack is such a lovely gesture after a long journey. I concur with a previous reviewers comment on the addition of a lamp in the living room would be a nice addition rather than the main lights. Would love to return at some point and highly recommend.

Even though it was dog friendly struggled to find my anywhere near cottage that had a grassed area some local information would have been good one of the owners went out of his way to help us out when we lost our car keys which saved our holiday

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage."

So cosy. Really comfortable bed and very peaceful. Contacted the owner to ask about how we could get more logs for the fire and within half an hour he had supplied them. Would definitely stay again. Toilet brush and some table lamps would be good as living room quite dark and too bright if you put the ceiling lights on . Apart from that we had a wonderful stay .

  • "Weaver's Cottage at 8 Longrow is beautifully furnished to a high standard."

Everything feels clean and fresh, which gave me the confidence to relax and enjoy the hoilday from the very start. Lovely plump pillows, a comfy mattress, decent bed linen and fluffy towels all get the thumbs up. Little thoughful touches like finding a fresh a pint of milk in the fridge or a bottle of something stronger do make such a difference when you arrive after a long journey and are very much appreciated. The nearby restaurant and closest pub in the village were both very welcoming and served delicious food. We benefited from glorious weather and spent a few days in St Anne's and Southport which are only a short drive away. The pavements near the cottage are either very narrow or nonexistent and the closest bin to deposit the dog's deposits was eventually found in the village hall's car park! Also must add the junction at the end of Longrow is most definitely not for the fainthearted and really would benefit from a mirror to help drivers nudging the nose of their car out into the unknown. That said, I cannot fault the cottage in any way. It was a joy to stay there and I would highly recommend it.
