Ribchester is within easy walking distance with a couple of decent pubs selling good food- Mr Giles, July 2020
“We had a very enjoyable 4 day break.”
Only minor complaint was the settee was not very comfortable. This is a personal thing and others may find in comfortable. Despite this all was well- Mr Jones, January 2020

Crumbleholme was such a gorgeous little cottage in a cute holiday community and I wouldnt hesistate in recommending to friends and family nor staying again. Really thank the ribble team for the amenieites and the friendliness of the hottub checking elf a hilarious addition at this time of year. We ll be back likely for new years again!- Ms Ekins, December 2019

Bed a little soft for me but that's a personal preference. Extremely warm Hot tub fab- Mrs Watkins, October 2019
“We have always been delighted with the Sykes Holidays Cottages we have booked and this was the best.”
Situated in a delightful courtyard, the cottage was spotless, spacious, very comfortable and quiet apart from the wonderful singing of the birds. I would recommend this as an ideal location for anyone wishing to explore the many beauty spots in Lancashire and Ribchester itself has an interesting history.- Miss Whitfield, June 2019
“A bit more of everything would have been useful.”
For example, there were only 4 cups so we had to buy extra cups for when visitors came.- Mrs Graham, May 2019
“This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed it.”
It was exactly as it was described (better). The cottage itself was clean, comfy and very well equipped. The staff were very helpful on site, and the owners couldn't have done more for us. We will be back and we are looking forward to staying in one of the bigger cottages. Thank you for a very much needed relaxing break.- Mr Kilner, April 2019
“Excellent cottage The photographs don't do it justice The downstairs open plan ...”
Excellent cottage The photographs don't do it justice The downstairs open plan room is huge as are the bedrooms Very cosy with underfloor heating throughout Nice open views from the garden and hot tub Easy 14 minute walk into the village Highly recommended the Ribchester Arms for a warm welcome, great service and food- Mr Currans, February 2019
“The sofas are tired and need replacing.”
Very difficult for elderly people to get up from -far too low. Bags in waste bins are very flimsy and tear easily. A black bin liner to put the waste in would have been handy. Pans in kitchen need replacing - woefully inadequate and worn out. Only minimum kitchen utensils and crockery provided. A couple of serving dishes would have been good.- Mrs Howard, December 2018
“The cottage exceeds expectations and is far bigger than we thought it would be.”- Mrs Dunn, December 2018
“Fantastic well appointed cottage.”
Beatutiful surroundings & views. Cleanliness excellent. So spacious but with under floor heating and log burner it is very warm and welcoming. Cottage has everything you need ‘home from home’. Hot tub and log burner adds to your comfort. Have to say one of the best we’ve spent a holiday in , and we’ve stayed in quite a few. Thank you to all there we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hold back and recommending to family & friends.- Mrs Smith, September 2018
“Everything was really good and arrangements for a late arrival were very smooth and easy.”
The cottage was very comfortable well appointed and much more spacious than anticipated for two of us! All dealing with Ribble Valley Holidays were friendly and simple and information provided was helpful and accurate.- Mrs Clark, September 2018
“Well looked after property.”
Lovely people and such a relaxing place. Hot tub was a massive bonus! Would stay here again- Mrs Millard, September 2018
“The cottage was lovely and comfortable and bigger than we expected.”
We all enjoyed the hot tub a new experience for me. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was beautifully rural -who knew how noisy sheep could be- but close enough to anything you might need. The Ribble Valley is beautiful and close enough for a day by the sea lots of walks and pretty villages. We will be going again.- Ms Lawrence, July 2018
“Absolutely amazing”- Mrs Grimes, May 2018
“Beautiful as always we have been for our wedding anniversary for the last two years and have loved it every time, perfect hosts and the cottage is perfect as always.”
Perfect view lush hot tub and fab walks and really amazing pubs and local shops- Mrs Watson, December 2017

Loved the en suite wet rooms.- Mr Gill, October 2016
“The photographs on the website do not do the property justice.”
This is a very spacious holiday cottage built to a very high standard. Although the cottage is situated in a quiet village there are plenty of attractions and things to do within a 30 minute drive. Far more than you can visit in one week with a wide variety of country walks, stately homes, shops and some of the most beautiful villages in England.- Mrs Must, October 2016
“Bed we're extremely luxurious Would love to know where to buy one”- Mr McGarry, September 2016

About the location
Blackburn 7 miles; Clitheroe 9 miles; Preston 11 miles.
The village of Ribchester is encircled by green hills and lies in a curve of the River Ribble mid way between Preston and Clitheroe. It is a pleasant jumble of multi-coloured stone cottages in long twisting terraces. It has three pubs, the White Bull, dated 1707, the Black Bull and the Ribchester Arms and the award-winning Chinese restaurant Yu and You Restaurant and Bar. The White Bull has a porch canopy supported by four columns said to be from Roman ruins. The village takes its name from the River Ribble and the fort of Bremetennacum (the walled town by the Ribble). For this reason, Ribchester has been seen to have a purely Roman foundation, but excavations in 1977 showed that settlements going back to the middle Bronze Age existed in the area. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Ribble Valley is a rural haven of spectacular scenery, diverse natural habitats and historical legend, a place of almost incomparable peace, where adults and children alike can enjoy the simple pleasures of the outdoors without the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Longridge is easily reached, a unique town with plenty of interesting shops and tempting eateries, described as 'big on character' by the Sunday Times and ranked in their '101 Best Places To Live In Britain'. Nearby Clitheroe is famed for its specialist shops of all types, including, amongst others, a sausage shop that sells over seventy-five different varieties! A gourmet's paradise, with award-winning restaurants and country hotels situated throughout the valley, and annual events including a number of agricultural shows and day festivals of all types, this fantastic location has plenty to offer at any time of year!
