Miss Holmes “We thought the cottage was fantastic and have already recommended to friends.”
Just a couple of things to tell you. The fairy lights round the hot tub area didn’t work and the path at the end if the garden didn’t really lead to a walk in either direction as had been indicated on the website. However neither issue spoiled our stay and we had a great trip thank you

Ms Garside “Beautiful house but first thing noticed on arrival were filthy patio door windows, unfortunately found finger marks on doors and dusty coffee table, which didn’t give assurance on Covid measures.”
the house was extremely well laid out and felt like home from home. Hot tub was added bonus after days hiking. handy having 2 pubs within walking distance of house.
- Ms Garside, September 2020Mrs Greenoff “The cottage itself was amazing.”
It gave us a stay without any worries. Location was good too
- Mrs Greenoff, August 2020Mr Serjeant “Very nice stay.”
..we all loved the open kitchen/lounge area and the kids loved the hot tub. Only thing I would have done is have a welcome pack on arrival.
- Mr Serjeant, August 2020Mrs Hall “Lovely spacious cottages with everything you need.”
Very clean and tidy, we loved the open living space. Nice and quiet area never heard anyone from other cottages. Garden area nice and big for kids to play and nice and private for hot tub. Lovely area it was in. Staff friendly and helpful

Great for a weekend with friends. Hot tub a lovely bit of luxury
- Mr Mackenzie, December 2019Mrs Kavanagh “Absolutely lovely cottage with everything we needed and even nicer than we thought.”
We had a fab couple of days celebrating our friend’s 40th birthday. Our only problem was worn the washer/dryer. We followed the instructions to use the dryer but the washer kept filling up and seemed to have a mind of its own. I would definitely recommend it and would definitely like to visit again with my family. Thank you

It would have been more convenient to have some sort of towel rail in the bathrooms and some basic toiletries and extra toilet rolls would be nice
- Miss Milan, September 2019Mr Meadows “A very modern cottage with character, in a beautiful location.”
Cottage was clean and felt new. Would go back for another visit.
- Mr Meadows, July 2019Mrs Sneddon “Only criticism I would have is lack of information on recycling etc.”
Different areas have different rules. Clarity would make it a lot easier. Staff couldn't be more helpful had a lovely time. Would I come back definitely

- Mrs Ritson, July 2018Mrs Grimes “My American family were in this cottage for the wedding weekend.”
They were very impressed with the quality and views of the cottage.
- Mrs Grimes, May 2018Mrs Humphreys “Fabulous cottages lovely welcome -all staff extremely pleasant.”
Lots of detailed info given before arrival. Only issue we have is the paying of the security deposit - it is requested well in advance of arrival although we declined to pay until arrival and refunding takes anything upto 10 days which in today’s world of banking technology is very extreme. It is acknowledged at time of departure the property is checked that day but then we have to wait until they go to the bank and then it takes 3-5working days? Payment was by debit card and instantly - refunding of this large sum should be similar. I hope going forward this issue will be looked st by the owners. ***Sykes Response*** Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted that you had an enjoyable stay. We do work with our owners to ensure that bonds are refunded as soon as possible. Your refund was processed online 2 days after your departure but standard banking processes dictate that it may be a few days before it shows in your account. Rest assured, the refund is always processed as soon as possible after departure.
- Mrs Humphreys, April 2018Mrs Kettle “Great cottage very modern”
- Mrs Kettle, March 2018Miss Sumner “We were a group of 6 ladies celebrating a low key hen doo.”
We wanted to do nothing but relax. And relax we did. Absolutely fantastic cottage. Totally exceeded our expectations. We walked into the cottage and were greeted with an enormous reception room with underfloor heating. In fact underfloor heating was throughout the cottage with a thermostat in each room. We opened the door and what was inside just completely took my breath away. I couldn't believe the place. It was beautiful. Each bedroom had an en suite. Each bed was beautifully made up. The kitchen was very spacious and had everything... even down to complimentary milk, juice, bread, butter, jam, eggs, salt pepper and sugar. There were also board games, books and DVDs and a massive tv and smartphone compatible sound system. Then there was the hot tub. Wow. The hot tub!!! So we unpacked and settled in and then found the utility room with yet another toilet and washer/dryer and ironing board. Loads of wardrobe space too. I can safely say i did not want to leave. I felt like a queen. We only left the cottage once to stock up on wine. It was simply lovely. I will definitely be booking waddow cottage again!
- Miss Sumner, January 2018Mrs Corcoran “Lovely spacious cottage, beautiful stone exterior and the inside is well equipped and furnished in a comfortable contemporary style.”
Each bedroom has a wet room, so no queuing! The garden is also quite large and the hot tub is superb. The cottage is sited in a little hamlet of similar properties which do not overlook each other. There is a fabulous garden centre (Stydd) a couple of minutes down the lane, with a cafe we would heartily recommend. The lane is mostly without a pavement. Fabulous countryside walks from the cottage and further afield.
- Mrs Corcoran, November 2017Miss Toye “Highly recommend.”
A group of 8 friends had a fantastic weekend at Waddow-Cottage. Would definitely return.
- Miss Toye, March 2017Mchugh “Had a fab time waddow cottage was lovely ❤️”
- Mchugh, February 2017Mrs Campbell “Sign outside properties need to be illuminated.”

About the location
RIBCHESTER
Blackburn 7 miles; Clitheroe 9 miles; Preston 11 miles.
The village of Ribchester is encircled by green hills and lies in a curve of the River Ribble mid way between Preston and Clitheroe. It is a pleasant jumble of multi-coloured stone cottages in long twisting terraces. It has three pubs, the White Bull, dated 1707, the Black Bull and the Ribchester Arms and the award-winning Chinese restaurant Yu and You Restaurant and Bar. The White Bull has a porch canopy supported by four columns said to be from Roman ruins. The village takes its name from the River Ribble and the fort of Bremetennacum (the walled town by the Ribble). For this reason, Ribchester has been seen to have a purely Roman foundation, but excavations in 1977 showed that settlements going back to the middle Bronze Age existed in the area. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Ribble Valley is a rural haven of spectacular scenery, diverse natural habitats and historical legend, a place of almost incomparable peace, where adults and children alike can enjoy the simple pleasures of the outdoors without the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Longridge is easily reached, a unique town with plenty of interesting shops and tempting eateries, described as 'big on character' by the Sunday Times and ranked in their '101 Best Places To Live In Britain'. Nearby Clitheroe is famed for its specialist shops of all types, including, amongst others, a sausage shop that sells over seventy-five different varieties! A gourmet's paradise, with award-winning restaurants and country hotels situated throughout the valley, and annual events including a number of agricultural shows and day festivals of all types, this fantastic location has plenty to offer at any time of year!
