  • "Really enjoyed our week here, the host very accommodating agreed to us having a late check out which was lovely as it was my birthday."

Very good communication.. nothing at all negative to say!

  • "Above my expectations."

Immaculate and well finished, particularly the kitchen and bathrooms. It is also larger than it appeared on line. The only tiny niggle was lock on upstairs bathroom didn't work but the little extras provided like prosecco, jams, etc more than made up for it.Would go back. If you want shops and pubs on your doorstep then it's not for you but we loved it.

  • "What a great property the 10 Flying Horse Shoes Cottage is for 5 or 6 people, wanting good close access to the 3 Peaks and a pub and shop in walking distance!"

Very clean and warm with a great open plan kitchen/diner and lounge area plus two bathrooms! Couldn’t fault it based on the description and photos, and good communication from the owner of the property. Would recommend the cottage for walkers, families or small groups!

  • "Roomy, clean, with good facilities."

Having two bathrooms were extremely handy. Lack of washing machine was a bit of a bind, as we were on a cycling holiday with limited cycling gear.

  • "The cottage was perfectly placed for four of us to walk the Kendal Limestone Way as Clapham is midway along the walk."

It was a great place to return to after a hard days walking and was in a very peaceful setting despite being surrounded by other cottages and the caravan site. The cottage was very clean and uncluttered. We had two excellent meals in the village pub on two evenings but otherwise cooked our own meals using the cottage facilities. There was ample crockery, saucepans and cutlery but we would have welcomed a larger casserole dish and a salad bowl. Luckily, one of our party had brought along dishwasher tablets and extra kitchen linen as only one t-towel as one provided as well as a small amount of washingup liquid. The two bathrooms were very nice but we could never get the tap water hot enough to take a bath rathef than a shower. A hot bath would have been welcome after a hard days walking especially the tfip up to Ingleborough! The one toilet roll provision per bathroom was a bit sparse too. Otherwise our stay was excellent and both couples said they would consider returning to explore the area further.

  • "The cottage was really lovely and we really enjoyed our stay there."

It was a great base for exploring the Dales. The beds were too soft for us with 3/4 adults suffering back pain; we like a firm bed I am afraid. It also wasn't possible to control the heating despite following the instructions and there were no dishwasher tablets left in the drawer as stated in the folder at the property (not the end of the world but just take some if you want to use it). However the wine, bread , butter and milk were really appreciated and this was a nice touch. If you don't mind a soft bed I would definitely recommend staying here. The woodburner was also great and the neighbours were really friendly too !

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Flying Horseshoes Cottages."

Plenty of room, comfy and really clean. Plenty of utensils and crockery, always warm with plenty of hot water. Owner responded to my queries and left an amazing welcome pack which was much appreciated. Wonderful area which we explored, nice walk to the village where everyone was friendly. Would happily return.

  • "Well equipped and clean cottage in an excellent location."

It was warm & cosy with a great layout; loved the open plan aspect. Great welcome pack provided which was very much appreciated, thanks. Mixed bag of weather but still managed to do plenty of walks; it didn’t detract from enjoying our stay at all. Good communication with the owner / cottage company. Would definitely recommend the property & hope to return.

The welcome pack of food was practical and we were very grateful for this. We had to sadly leave early due to work commitments as we would have really enjoyed another 2 days there. A very pleasant stay !

A really good location with the Yorkshire dales and the Lancashire coast all nearby giving great walking and cycling options. The residents who lived in the surrounding houses were also very welcoming. Will definitely look to return sometime in the future.
