With both the glorious Cumbrian coastline and the Lake District National Park in striking distance, Pipstrelle Cottage enjoys an enviable position, close to the town of Barrow-In-Furness.

With its superb location, which is bursting with fun things to do, this stone-built, converted barn cottage is perfect for that long-awaited holiday with your family.

Enter into the spacious kitchen, which is certain to entice some home-cooking by making use of the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, as well as a washing machine, so that you can easily wash your clothes after a wonderful day by the coast.

Relish in some much needed catch-up time with your loved ones, whilst gathered around the formal dining table, a perfect spot for enjoying evening meals and toasting to a wonderful holiday to Cumbria.

Flick on the TV and switch on the electric fire to allow a gentle warmth into the space, as you sink into the sofa and unwind into your evening.

Once the evening has drawn to a close, head upstairs to find two well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, where you can look forward to waking up to the far-reaching countryside views each morning.

To the exterior, table and chairs offer a spot of alfresco dining and the lawn area is ideal for letting your children play safely, as well as a games room to the right of the cottage which has chairs, a full size snooker table and a dart board.

Explore your surroundings further by travelling into the Victorian town of Barrow-In-Furness, where you will be spoilt for choice by the selection of shops, pubs and eateries.

Attractions within the town include two golf courses, The Dock Museum for an insight into the town’s past and the Biggar Bank, which is a long stretch of shingle and pebble beach, offering a picturesque walk along the coast.

A sandy beach can be found slightly further afield, Roanhead Beach, where you can soak up the distant views or explore the Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve.

South Lakes Safari Zoo is also near to the cottage, where you can visit the roaming animals, including big cats, giraffes, rhinos and monkeys before enjoying the natural walk-through areas.

Keen walkers can look forward to travelling to the Lake District National Park to explore the plethora of hikes or visit Lake Windermere for some watersport opportunities amidst breath-taking scenery.

Lake Windermere 10 miles; Coniston Water 11 miles.

Ulverston is a traditional market town built around a cobbled main street. It boasts a fine selection of independent shops, café’s, and pubs with open fires and real ales. There is an extensive selection of eating places to suit everyone, from fine dining to traditional pub food. Ulverston is also well known as a festival town, with events ranging from flags and walking to art and music festivals throughout the summer months and with the renowned Dickensian Christmas festival in late November. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel and world record holder of the biggest foam pie fight in the world giving a glimpse into the fun community spirited little town. There are excellent walks around the town and beautiful countryside, with views of the southern Lake District and Morecambe Bay. Home to the deepest, widest and shortest canal, which makes for a lovely afternoon walk with a pub at the end and views over the bay. All of the attractions of the National Park are also easily reached. The Furness Coast boasts sandy beaches and good birdwatching. Nearby family attractions include the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common, with its incredible panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
