The market town of Burnley is situated close to Pendle Hill and within reach of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There’s something for everyone in and around Burnley, including Towneley Park, which was once the deer park for the 15th century Towneley Hall, the National Trust managed Gawthorpe Hall in the nearby town of Padiham, the Museum of Local History and the Queen Street Mill Textile Museum. Festivals are also held in Burnley, most notable being the Burnley Balloon Festival in Towneley Park and the International Rock and Blues Festival.
