"Walker's Barn is ideally placed in Settle - as well as being close to the shops and amenities it was perfect for us as it was only a few metres from friends that we were visiting."
The house is compact but has everything needed for 2 people, and importantly a comfortable bed. the house is very nicely decorated, and a lovely welcome pack was left for us. I would definitely stay again.

"A great clean, warm, well appointed property, decorated to a really good standard."
The cottage is in a prime location within 3 minutes walk to the centre of Settle, yet far enough away for a quiet and relaxing break. Quality Fish and Chip Shop, Pizza outlet and a Chinese takeaway literally 1 minute from the cottage door.
Great communication from the owner before, during and after the rental, and as I left my glasses at the property the owner forwarded them back to me quickly and without fuss. Highly Recommended.

"Lovely comfy cottage in a very convenient location."
Car park over the road, free 1800 to 0900. 1 min walk to town centre. Yes, the living area is small and quirky but it didn’t bother us. Kitchen had everything we needed. Lovely welcome pack and great communication with owner. Highly recommended.

"We enjoyed very much our 5 nights, and would certainly consider staying again."
The property is very well placed in Settle, just one minute's walk to the centre, and we had no problem parking for free during the week on Church Road, again just a minute's walk the other direction. The bed and sofa are comfortable, the bathroom is spacious with a good pan-shower, and the kitchen has all the essential facilities, including a small dishwasher. We thought the cleanliness throughout was excellent, and were baffled by the one earlier review of the property which questioned this. If there was any "downside" it was that there is no private garden, and being just behind some restuarants, the view from the front is of industrial rubbish bins, with some accompanying noise when being used. However, although this would mean we would not stay here for a main, 2 week summer holiday, this was a minor issue, and would not put us off staying here again, for a short break. Overall, this is a great property, perfectly located in Settle, and we would be very pleased to stay again.

"Well maintained, centrally situated and good for a couple who are out doing things during day times."
Size of sitting area, a modestly-sized space at the bottom of the stairs, somewhat limiting in the evenings. We wondered if this area might better suit the dining area. Excellent bedroom and bathroom. Velux window of bedroom needs a blind, we were awoken at sunrise. Outside seating at front of cottage faces the rear of a Chinese takeaway and their rubbish bins, so not useable really.
Adverse comments provided to assist owners, not big quibbles.
Owner's welcome pack was very kind.
Oven was in need of a clean I'm afraid.

The bedroom velux is fitted with a black out blind that is operated by the remote control located on the wall next to the above the bedside table for our visitors convenience. We do take pride in the standard of cleanliness in our bijoux barn , so apologies that the cooker was below expectations , we will ensure this is kept clean.

"Beautiful,fresh and comfortable, we loved our stay , conveniently situated behind the chip shop on the left opposite the carpark (free from 6pm until 9 am)next to the petrol station on the right just as you go under the bridge into Settle."

"2nd time at the lovely Walkers barn."
Cute little cottage perfectly situated for local amenities and travelling further out. Comfy and cosy, wonderful welcome pack. We don't have a dog yet but Charlotte even thinks of those in her welcome pack. Definitely will be making 1 Walkers Barn our go-to place to stay in the future.

"A beautiful character property nicely furnished with a great town centre location giving access to nearby walks around settle."
Convenient for a short break by train too. Spent a day at Malham cove.
Highly recommended if you are seeking a blend of countryside, but with the opportunity to use town amenities on your evening return. The best pet friendly (one dog) property we have stayed in.

"All as advertised,very clean and tidy."
All household items available from a potato peeler to a pair of scissors, the welcome pack was a nice surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable as was the living area. Location in the centre of settle was ideal, set back from the main road and yet quite. All in all a modern smart apartment ideal for our needs with an high standard of care taken to ensure a quality,worthy of year round occupancy. Thank you.

"Lovely cottage and very cosy, great bed and really lovely furnishings."
We found the cottage in need of a deep clean, the floor in the bathroom was quite dirty and there was dust and hair accumulated on the door. The drawers in the kitchen all had dust and crumbs in, and the door behind the sofa had lots of cobwebs and bits of plant growing through the gaps. We couldn’t adjust the heat level in the bedroom (maybe an issue with the radiator?) and the toilet roll holder is loose in the bathroom. Please also be aware that we saw 3 or 4 rats outside the front of the property in daytime and nighttime, just in case the property is going to be empty you don’t want them getting in!
I'm glad you found the cottage comfy and cosy. Im sorry you found areas of cleanliness not up to standard as we do take pride in the cleanliness of the cottage so will ensure the issues mentioned are rectified.

Car parking available in short-stay car park 2 minutes walk away, with long-stay car park 5 minutes walk away - £15 for a weekly ticket. Contact with owner easy and helpful.

"We had a truly amazing time."
The cottage is absolutely beautiful has everything you could possible want or need. Including extras that you don’t expect like gorgeous smelling hand soaps and diffusers. Really cosy and welcoming. The owner was really helpful & the thought and effort she'd put in to make it a lovely place to stay was perfect. As a single mum with my son & 2 dogs it was safe and also very affordable!,
The neighbours were lovely too which is fantastic.
I would definitely like to go there again.

"Property was as explained and expected."
Really well situated for public transport (less than 10 min to the train station) and supermarkets/restaurants (less than 5 min to the main square of Settle). In relation to the property: well distributed and comfortable cottage, everything looked new and clean. Bathroom and bedroom very big with plenty of wardrove/cupboards to put our stuff. We really enjoyed the comfy sofa and the full fitted kitchen. Highly recommend this cottage

"Walkers Barn is the perfect little holiday gem!"

"A hidden gem just off the main street in Settle , behind the Fisherman chip shop, your sat nav takes you to the other end of Church Street."
It was perfect for a couple with or without a small dog.
A small welcome pack - butter, bread, milk and some cookies and fudge really nice. Excellent kitchen fittings and all you need . We decide not to cook as there is plenty of choice along the main street.
I'd like to say no don't go just so we can keep it for our selves but no if you want somewhere in Settle / in the Dales please do book this cottage

"Lovely cottage, well situated for all the town's amenities."
Approx. 10-12 minutes walk from the railway station and just a few minutes walk to the nearest bus stop. Welcome pack on arrival which was a nice touch and everything is good quality from the crockery to the bedding. Really couldn't fault the property.
Just one niggle which was that the instructions we were given to find the cottage were not very good.

"Wasn’t properly stated that it didn’t have a enclosed area, wasn’t the cleanest (opened/out of date food left in cupboards) isn’t really located in the best place and had to pay for parking."
