"The cottage, location and owners were all great."
I booked this through Booking.com and I'm not really sure of the link to Sykes. Sykes have called me Mr, when I've clearly booked it as a female. Things like that really irritate me....
"This cottage was so comfortable, very nicely appointed with every amenity that one could wish for."
The bed, with its memory foam mattress was also very comfortable - best nights of sleep we had in a long time. Excellent shower in the ensuite bathroom. British showers can be very temperamental fluctuating between too hot or not hot enough, but this one was easy to operate, comfortably hot enough and it stayed that way! Owners were very friendly and helpful - lots of useful information for visitors to the area, and helpful suggestions for things to see and do. We would have no hesitation in booking here again.
"Nice comfortable apartment 2 minutes from town and mark the owner very helpful will book again"
"We have just returned from a lovely holiday at 27 Longdale Avenue."
As the photo shows this is an extension to the owners house but once inside this very comfortable apartment there are lovely views to the hills and it is as good if not better than many cottages we have stayed. The entrance leads into a large utility area then the bedroom with very comfy bed and large TV is on the ground floor, as is the bathroom. The bathroom is the only thing I could say maybe needs some attention, whilst fine a new luxury bathroom would make this really somewhere special. Once upstairs a lovely large kitchen, diner, lounge area overlooks hills and fields. The sofa is very comfy, the TV easy to use, and a very large well equipped kitchen. The owner had left us tea coffee and milk on arrival. Everything was well thought out, with nice towels, teatowels ,pictures, mugs and table mats. With a parking space and a 5 minute walk down a snicket into the town centre the location couldn't have been better. We felt really at home and hope to return.
"The apartment had everything we could need and more."
We really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen which was very well equipped. We also appreciated the opportunity to do a load of laundry. The hosts were friendly and helpful.
"Settle a delightful place to visit, great walks, friendly pubs and a good variety of shops."
Our apartment was very comfortable, the kitchen extremely well equipped and it was so nice to arrive and have basic provisions provided, milk, coffee and tea. Mark ( the owner ) was so friendly and helpful. A really enjoyable stay.

Bed was comfortable, property was spacious ,shower was great, location was superb a few minutes walk to all the amenities in Settle and walks direct from the property
"Lovely accommodation good views from living room due to upside down layout."
good welcome from owner to make sure everything was okay and a basket of goodies a lovely surprise. no hesitation recommending this accommodation for anyone wanted to visit the dales.
"The cottage was an ideal base for two people."
It was cosy and comfortable, with a view of the hills, and was only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Settle. We appreciated the off-road parking as we did not want to use the car during the day, and also the secure storage for our bicycles. The utility area was perfect for hanging up waterproofs so they were not cluttering up the kitchen or bathroom. Settle's a fine little town, and an excellent base for walking and cycling in the Dales, and the Victoria Hall has an interesting programme of concerts and events. We had a great week and would gladly go back.
"A fabulous apartment in Settle."
The owner Mark has made a lovely job of making this a real home from home. We used this as a base for exploring Yorkshire for the 1st time, and we were really pleased with everything the accommodation offered. Spotlessly clean, well furnished and enough utensils, pots and pans etc to make use of the kitchen. Mark was on hand if needed, but leaves you to get on with your own thing. A real find for our week away....well recommended...
"Nice accommodation in a quiet location with plenty of room for two."
Easy access to centre of Settle (some steps) and plenty of places to eat out if required. Near plenty of walks.
"The flat has an unusual layout - the bedroom/bathroom is downstairs and the open plan living space is upstairs with a lovely view over the fields and fells."
The accommodation has everything needed for a comfortable holiday stay. The owner, Mark, lives next door which is convenient for local information and solving any problems. The Dales region speaks for itself and with good weather the options are multiple - walking, caves, Settle-Carlisle railway etc. The Lake District is only 1 hour away too which is an additional area for walking. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
"This property is not the Traditional Dales Stone Cottage experience, self-evident from the Exterior photos."
However, I am pleased I made the booking as the apartment itself is spacious, modern, and well fitted out with all you need to look after yourself. The Lounge/Diner/Kitchen is on the first floor, the Lounge window overlooks the street at the front of the property but lovely views of the hills can still be seen from the sofa. At the other end, the kitchen window overlooks the enclosed and private rear garden which is laid to stone and decking, with numerous flowering plants in pots and a water feature. Again, the hills can be seen from this window, and in the garden itself there are chairs and tables for you to enjoy the views and relax with a coffee, or have a meal and a drink if the weather allows, which it certainly did during my visit. The double bedroom is on the ground floor with a nice en-suite shower room, and a laundry/utility area just outside it at the bottom of the stairs. The owner could not have been more helpful, he leaves you alone to enjoy your own privacy and stays in the background so you can make the most of the place, but is there when you need anything. I would certainly recommend this as a base to explore the area, but even if you just fancied a day off from sightseeing, the back garden is a real bonus to sit quietly and chill.
