  • "Cragg Cottage was is a fantastic location within easy reach of many beautiful walks."

It was well equipped, but disappointing to find no logs or fire lighters for the log burner. It was still chilly of an evening and there is usually a basket of logs in most properties to give you a start on the first evening. Property would benefit from a bluetooth speaker to stream music and radio. Otherwise a really enjoyable stay in this little gem.

Thank you for your feedback and so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by lack of logs and firelighters. We have fed this back to the housekeeper/ cleaner who should stock this up at each changeover, so we can make sure it doesn't happen in the future. Property Owner

  • "Beautifully appointed."

Everything we needed was there. Great position in town with fantastic views across Settle. Shower was great and bed very comfortable. Due to weather never got the chance to use the outside space which looked very nice. We used town carpark (3 minute walk) for the week with a £15 weekly ticket which we thought was good value and less stressful than parking near the cottage. Loved the rotating big chair! WiFi worked really well. Good self shops and excellent restaurants/pubs within 5 minute walk of cottage. Would definitely recommend.

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback, and we are delighted you enjoyed all Settle had to offer. Thanks for staying at Crag Cottage and we hope to see you again. Property Owner

Enjoying a quiet and elevated position with views overlooking the town and out to Pendle Hill, resting on the edges of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, 7 Bowskills Yard is a fantastic base for a couple or a family of three who are embarking on their next Yorkshire getaway.

Step into the inviting living/dining room, where you can look forward to evenings snuggled up in front of the Smart TV as the woodburning stove crackles nearby.

Cook up delicious feasts in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy slimline dishwasher and washing machine, ready to enjoy at the dining table over a bottle of fizz.

Climb the stairs up to the first floor and savour the last of the day’s sunshine with your favourite tipple from the comfort of your private, paved patio area, nestled under Castleberg Crag and backing on to woodland.

Wash away the day with a refreshing shower before wrapping yourself in a toasty towel, courtesy of the heated towel rail.

As your eyes grow heavy, retire to one of two well-appointed bedrooms, a double and a small single, to catch your rest ahead of a day of adventure.

It's only 400 yards to the Market Square where you can enjoy a stroll round the historic town with its many award winning pubs, restaurants and independent shops.

Experience local life at the weekly market, held on Tuesdays, where you can buy local cheese, home baked bread and cakes, handmade jewellery and crafts.

Those looking to learn more about the local area can wander the exhibits of The Museum of North Craven Life.

Alternatively, you can see what's on at Settle Victoria Hall, a Grade II listed working Victorian Music Hall; there’s a wide programme of theatre, comedy, film and live music and indoor markets.

Other attractions include the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway which offers exceptional views and scenery as it travels through the remote, scenic regions of the Yorkshire Dales, plus there’s the Settle and Giggleswick Golf Club and a public swimming pool.

A wide variety of scenic walking and cycling trails are available right from your doorstep, where you can venture further into the Yorkshire Dales National Park and explore the natural wonders of Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar or take in the beauty of the nearby Forest of Bowland AONB.

The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by The Shambles, an historic three storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool. The Victoria Hall has entertainment and other activities such as folk nights throughout the year. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Settle is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.
