    Mrs Gillies

“I was disappointed with the cleanliness there was an old cobweb on the front door window ,the top of the cooker was in need of cleaning.”

the washing up bowl needed freshening up, there was some mould in the shower and mould stains on some of the paint work in the bathroom, one of the coffee mugs on the stand had not been washed properly and lastly a very noticeable dirty mark on the skirting board near the front door added together it felt as if little effort had been made despite the gesture of providing milk and some biscuits.

We were surprised to read your comments and feel we must challenge them. In fact, we did wonder if you had stayed at a few properties and were confusing them after your departure, which might also explain why you did not bring any concerns to our attention during your stay especially as we were in contact via texts. However, we did notice, upon your departure, that some damage had occurred to the kitchen window blind but that you did not notify us and wonder if this had any bearing on your feedback. The property remains clean, cosy and well equipped. - Sykes owner relations

About the location

SETTLE

Malham 6 miles; Skipton 17 miles; Kendal 25 miles.

The bustling market town of Settle lies at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, nestled beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes - amongst some of the most picturesque scenery in North Yorkshire.

Tuesday is market day in Settle, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts and goods.

The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by The Shambles, an historic three storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall.

There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool.

The Victoria Hall has entertainment and other activities such as folk nights throughout the year.

The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country.

Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham.

Settle is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland..
