  • "We had a lovely 3 night stay."

From walking in, we were amazed at the size of the cottage. It was so spacious & very clean! Fresh flowers, tea, coffee, sugar, milk & biscuits were a lovely touch, ready for our arrival. We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch in the King William pub just around the corner. Food & Service was fantastic! Tesco & Co-op is situated in the town centre which is only a 5 minute drive, so that was handy.

Hello, thank you for your feedback, we are always trying to improve our guests experience of staying at Tower Cottage and we would really appreciate your help by clarifying for us what could be done to improve the comfort of your stay etc. Many thanks. Helen Property Owner

The views from the cottage are stunning and it has a really homely feel to the place. We actually didn't want to leave after 7 nights. • "We stayed at the Tower Cottage over the New Year weekend and we absolutely loved it."

It was exceptionally clean and such a lovely place to stay with ample space for a family of 7. I dealt with the owner Helen prior to arriving who was very helpful and also left us some home comforts (Teabags, Coffee, Sugar, Milk, Biscuits and even a bottle of Prosecco) which we all felt was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. The cottage was equipped with everything you need from kitchen essentials, cleaning essentials, baby/toddler essentials etc. Not many TV channels, although we did bring our fire stick and made use of the free wifi to connect to, although we did notice a selection of DVD’s to choose from. The only minor downside for me personally was that I didn’t sleep particularly well on the pull out bed; it was very hard due to mattress being quite thin, and so I ended up sleeping on the floor instead, hence not sleeping well. However everyone else seemed to sleep well with no complaints and my husband actually said it was the comfiest bed he’d ever slept in (Single Beds) As a family we said that we would definitely consider returning another time and again thank you to Helen and Peter for opening up your home.

Hello Rebecca, thank you for your feedback about your stay at Tower Cottage, it was helpful to receive it. I have noted your comments about the bed and we have replaced the mattress, thank you for drawing this to our attention. I do hope that you and your family will visit Tower Cottage again. Best wishes, Helen Property Owner

  • "We had a really good time at the cottage, so thank you very much for making us welcome."

The cottage was spacious, the garden and yard were both very well used and the view was excellent. The location was good for a quiet holiday away from the bustle of the main Lake District areas. We felt some of the facilities were a bit dated, such as the TV (we are now used to a large smart TV!). We felt this was reflected in the price, however. Minor niggles were: Car grounded on pothole at exit to road. Oven door hard to shut. Bathroom door squeaked. Wifi died in the middle of the week but the effect of that was modest, partly as we were blessed with weather which made outdoor activities tempting.
