You can see three counties within the spectacular view from our house, and we are handy for trips to the South Lakes, the Yorkshire Dales, and North Lancashire's Lune Valley, moors and coastline.
Lake Windermere is just a 20 minute drive, and Windermere town just 25.
A lack of street lamps gives us great views of the stars on a clear night.
The historic houses and gardens of Leighton Hall, Levens Hall, Sizergh Castle and Holker Hall are within easy reach.
Golf is available at Silverdale, Kirby Lonsdale and Windermere.
Cartmel racecourse is also nearby.
