  • "Wonderful house with amazing views in an area of outstanding natural beauty."

Lots of walking and cycling in the area with very quiet roads for cycling. The owners were very helpful too. We had a lovely holiday, thank you.

  • "We had an amazing week here."

We consisted of 6 families with children and the house did not disappoint. The facilities are excellent and we loved not only the house, but the gardens, animals and surrounding areas. The owners were great and on hand if ever needed. Would definitely return. Loved it.

  • "The pictures and write up of Heatherbrae do not do it justice, the house is fantastic and perfect for large groups."

The owners truly have thought about what you might need whilst you are away from home including handy kitchen utensils and a chocolate jar to welcome you. The surroundings are also very beautiful. The only drawback could be that the wifi isn’t the strongest but we enjoyed being in the moment so it didn’t phase us and there is plenty to entertain you whilst you are away. Highly recommend Heatherbrae!

Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for the WiFi issue. I am afraid this has been ongoing with BT following storm Arwen last year. I am in touch with BT to try to rectify this problem. Property Owner

Heatherbrae had more than enough space and all the amenities required for a very comfortable stay. The views are outstanding and it is beautifully quiet at night. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back again.

  • "Great 3 night stay at Heatherbrae, Lovely, warm & clean."

Everything you could want is provided. Unfortunately couldn’t use the hot tubs and outside facilities as the weather was horrendous. Wi-Fi a bit hit & miss but all in all a fab stay & would definitely return.

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the wifi. Unfortunately there has been an issue with the fibre cable following the storm weeks ago. BT have at last resolved this. Heather Brae has fttp, so the wifi is ultrafast. BT and Open reach have been very slow to address the issue, I apologise if the wifi was not as good as it should have been. Property Owner

We were amazed by the quality of the facilities, and the photos don't do the house justice, we didn't want to leave. We loved it so much, we are going to make it an annual trip. Thank you very much to the owners.

  • "A wonderful stay!"

The photos don't do the size and cosiness of the house justice. We were 15 adults, plus toddlers and a baby, yet there was plenty of room to not feel on top of each other but also space to get together and eat or play games. Beds were so comfy, plenty of hot water and loads of amenities for cooking. We had a few problems with the WiFi but the owner sorted this out as best she could. This was such a great house, we would love to come again!

  • "Very very bad."

I made New Year's Eve in this house. It was raining on the windows, very cold upstairs. And the biggest problem was that the wifi didn't work, the kids were bored, they didn't have a job.The TVs did not work due to lack of wifi, also I could not work on the laptop (lack of wifi). I do not recommend paying £ 6500 for 6 nights. And I received 0 facilities.

I am sorry that the wifi was not performing as it should. I explained to you at the time that the problem was an issue with the fibre cable on the roadside following storm Arwen some weeks ago. BT did provide a mini hub which connects up to 20 devices. You mentioned that there was a problem with rain coming in. There is one window on the top floor landing that had rained in, but no others? Apologies if your children were bored. There is a games room with pool table, board games. Two hot tubs, a tennis court, and two acres of grounds with a goal post for football? I must mention that Sky tv was working at all times. There are dvd players all around the house and approx 200 dvd’s to choose from, suitable for children and adults. I am not sure why you felt the house was cold as it is heated with a biomass system and is very warm. There are very clear instructions on how to adjust the temperature to suit? As a gesture of goodwill I have not charged you for the damage to the hot tub cover lifter which had to be replaced at a cost of £180.00 Elaine (owner) Property Owner

Other than that it was an amazing house. We loved the hot tubes, the view and the tennis court. Thanks for having us.

  • "Due to bad weather we had a cold uncomfortable stay with no electricity and then no gas."

Owner offered a few candles. Lost all food and had to leave when safe to do so

I was very sorry that storm Arwen ruined your stay at Heather Brae. Firstly though may I correct your comment. You did in fact arrive early (4pm) to a very warm house and a warm welcome from me. The storm didn’t hit until 10pm. My husband removed the tree which had come down overnight and spent much of the day trying to source a generator for you. All the houses in the area including my own home were without power. We cleared the drive of snow to enable you to get your cars put should you wish. Once again I apologise, but this was completely out of my hands. Property Owner

The hot tubs and pool table were highlights and even though we had very rainy weather there was plenty to do. Only small thing to consider is there isn't loads of bathrooms/showers, we went for a weekend so it wasn't a problem at all but something to consider for a week break.

  • "Thank you very much for hosting us at your place."

The place itself is really nice and has lots of space for larger groups. The kitchen is really big and there's all the things you need to cook, two dishwashers, lots of gas hobs, plenty of seating area and amazing views. The bedrooms are really well furnished, towels, bath robes and slippers all provided, there are no wardrobes with facility to hang clothes but there are shelves or drawers in most rooms. When it comes to bathrooms, there are only 4 bathrooms with toilets, only 2 showers, 1 bath and 2 en suite. This may sound plenty but with larger groups, the 4 toilets and 2 showers can sometimes become a bit of a bottleneck but nothing you can't work around. The tennis court is amazing and all the balls and rackets are provided. The hot tub is amazing, the grounds of the house are very large to walk around and for children to play. The games room and living room are amazing as well with plenty of games and a pool table to keep you entertained. Did I mention all the TV's have sky on them and there's a TV in pretty much every room!? To top things off, if you need WiFi, there is super fast WiFi here (100Mbps) which is almost necessary as there's no reception here for almost any carrier. We loved our stay here and would recommend to anyone going as a group. Thank you again for having us.
