  • "I would recommend this cottage to anyone it was stunning and perfect location, The start of our break was not brilliant as the key holder ( owner) didn’t turn up and we couldn’t get it the property for 3 hours!"

But Sykes was brilliant and sorted it in the end, and I don’t think this was the first time it’s happened.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m so sorry this happened and as I explained, it was an unforeseen situation. However, it was the one and only time this happened and I will make sure I have things in place for it not to be repeated. I am glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise. Property Owner

  • "A wonderful, comfortable and clean cottage."

Made a perfect stay in Yorkshire. The owner communicated well before the stay and we can’t wait to come back. The only thing we found missing was oven gloves. This is not a complaint by any means and just a suggestion. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  • "Cosy, well positioned cottage in a beautiful village."

The only negative was the lack of kitchen ware. (utensils, serving dishes etc….) As the cottage is self catering you would expect more than one serving dish.

  • "A lovely semi-detached cottage in a scenic village location."

The cottage was lovely, it had a spacious lounge, kitchen and dining area, the log fire was great, nice and warming. It was also very clean and tastefully decorated, totally relaxing. The bathroom had a roll-top bath and also a large walk-in shower, again nicely decorated, bedrooms were great as well and a good nights was had. I would recommend this place, it’s a great location within easy distance of visiting Brimham Rocks and Hardcastle Crags, Gibson Mill. Couldn’t fault it and would definitely book it again.

Thankyou for your lovely comments Property Owner

  • "We loved Wedding Cottage - beautiful surroundings, peaceful, I think we saw three cars drive through the village all week!"

;) Very cosy and clean, perfect for a couples getaway. A bottle of Prosecco was left for us on arrival which was very sweet! Friendly gentleman next door who was very helpful with regards places to walk around the village. Gorgeous local pub which served up a very good Sunday roast. Would love to visit again!

  • "Very comfortable cottage, cosy with a luxurious bathroom and towels etc."

Great views. Very large fridge freezer makes food storage for self catering easy but more kitchen equipment would improve the experience e.g. casserole, bread knife, kitchen scissors. Better selection of kitchen knives and knife sharpener. Log burner is fabulous but logs are provided as a starter pack not as Sykes description implies i.e 'Fuel and Power included in rent. Very good pub with good reasonably priced food within the village and coarse/game fishing nearby at Raygill fisheries. Excellent.

  • "We had a wonderful week at Wedding cottage beautiful views from the door across the dales, very comfortable and clean with exceptional decor, Caz and Steve were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble."

The neighbours were very welcoming too, it's a lovely village to stay at just like home from home, we hope to return later in the year. One small issue which needs addressing is getting the shower temperature sorted which Steve told us is to be replaced in the near future. Thank you Caz and Steve for a wonderful holiday, highly recommended Judith and Chris Wall

About the location

LOTHERSDALE

Cowling 3 miles; Skipton 5 miles.

The charming village of Lothersdale nestles in a peaceful valley in the Pennine Hills, just five miles from the market town of Skipton. It was, at one time, home to Charlotte Bronte who modelled Gateshead Hall in Jane Eyre on Stone Gappe House where she was governess. Today many visitors passing through the village are walkers, on their way along the Pennine Way on the stretch from Cowling to Gargrave. There is a village pub which serves food and an excellent range of amenities are available in Skipton just a short drive away. Also close by is Haworth, and the Bronte’s home, as well as the famous Worth Valley Steam Railway.
