  • "A perfect home from home when visiting the beautiful Kirkby Stephen."

So quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the main town but just a 5 min walk and close enough to hear the lovely church bells on a Sunday Morning! The house is immaculately clean and modern with all the facilities you would expect. The added bonus of a welcome bottle of wine and treats for our 4 legged friends was the icing on the cake! Kirkby Stephen is a beautiful town with lots of high street shops, quaint pubs and cafes. The coop is a 5 min walk away. Once you arrive the car can stay where it is and charge where it is too! There are so many lovely walks from the door step including the farm shop and cafe! We had a wonderful week, real family time and we will definitely be back!

  • "Despite the weather we had an enjoyable week in Charter Gardens."

It's a lovely clean, well equiped modern holiday home with easy access to the town's amenities and local walks. It has a very large enclosed garden which our dog loved especially when he caught sight of some visiting rabbits! Although I would suggest putting a door mat on the floor infront of the french doors for when you come in from the garden. The complimentary wine and chocolates were much appreciated and we hope to visit again.

Pleased you had an enjoyable week at Charter Gardens and enjoyed the Christmas season chocolates! Thank you for leaving the property so clean and tidy on departure, it really is so very much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back soon, and hope that the weather is kinder on your next visit! Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at Charter gardens."

Lovely and clean, modern and a great large garden which is fully enclosed for dogs. Very near to local shops and a few great pubs with home made food. I received a lovely phone call from the owner saying the house was ready for us and wishing us a happy stay.

Thank you for your feedback and apologies I hadn't thanked you sooner. Glad to see you had a lovely stay at Charter Gardens and enjoyed the local shops and pubs , we would be very happy to welcome you back again! Property Owner

  • "A beautiful new build property with just about everything you need in a home and a fantastic location to explore both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales."

The only thing that disappointed us was the mattress quality. Our 14 year old used the other double and he said he could feel the springs too. Might want to think about a memory foam topper for them. Had to put a towel by the patio door for the dog and we didn’t let him loose in the garden as there were bunnies running around and hiding under the decking. Part of the fence is bunny proof but not all and our spaniel loves to chase small furry creatures. We had a lovely stay and thank you for the bottle of Wairu Cove Sauvignon blanc, it was delicious! Local pub The Taggy Man serves a delicious pie and chips and Coast to Coast serve freshly cooked fish and chips (yum!). Kirkby Stephen is a lovely place with some nice shops and the new estate is close to the town centre.

Thank you for your comments. We are currently awaiting delivery of new mattresses as we had noted they were not as good as they were. It is a constant battle with the rabbits but we have added boarding to the bottom of the fences to keep pets safe inside and rabbits deterred as much as possible. Pleased you enjoyed the wine! • "This is an excellent well presented property, very comfortable & well kitted out for our needs."

It's in a convenient part of Kirkby Stephen & within walking distance for all the amenities. Memories were made in the Yorkshire Dales but Charter Gardens will be part of those memories, thank you for allowing us to stay there. Credit has to go to the cleaning team as it was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard.

It sounds like you had a fabulous time and so glad we (Charter Gardens) were part of making those memories. Hopefully we can welcome you back in the future to make more! I have passed your kind comments onto the cleaning team who really appreciated them. Property Owner

  • "Great stay, thank you."

Bottle of wine thoughtful and appreciated. Everywhere really clean and beautifully presented. A mat on the inside of the patio doors would have been really helpful. Luckily I brought some dog towels which I put down there to save the dogs tracking in mud from the garden. Also we didnt have enough loo rolls. Minor points which did not detract from our enjoyment of the stay.

Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return. Loo rolls are supplied so you have some to start you off (2 per loo) but this is a self-catering property... Property Owner

  • "Beautiful modern cottage in a great location for a long weekend."

The house is well equipped with everything you need. Elaine the perfect host. We did the walk up to the Nine Standards Rigg to experience the views of the Fells and took a drive through stunning scenery to the White Scar Cave. Those less keen on walking can take a short walk from the house into the market town of Kirkby Stephen conveniently situated with interesting shops and cafes. Do recommend The Black Bull Hotel and The Mango Tree for evening meals.

Thank you for your kind comments, it is much appreciated. You certainly fitted a lot into your stay! Property Owner

  • "Absolutely stunning modern property in an excellent position for shops, pubs and sightseeing."

Shared with our sister and brother in law and we all were extremely impressed with the quality of the whole house We loved sitting in the spacious garden having a glass of wine watching the rabbits and red squirrel. It was so well equipped with top class fittings but just needed hairdryers as we thought they would be provided. Would 100% recommend this beautiful home.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are so pleased you had a relaxing break and enjoyed the garden and facilities. Glad you got to see the red squirrel - he's a fairly frequent visitor but can't guarantee when he will put in an appearance! Thank you for highlighting about hairdryers - there is now a hairdryer in each of the 2 main bedrooms. We would be most pleased to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic house, well equipped and everything spotlessly clean."

Just a short walk to the town centre. Particularly enjoyed watching the resident red squirrel, who visited the peanut feeder in the garden every day.

Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated. Glad you got to see the squirrel - not something I can guarantee but he does indeed enjoy the nuts! Fantastic that you saw him each day. Hopefully we can welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

We even ended up extending our stay as we enjoyed it that much! The owner Elaine is fantastic to deal with and honestly could not do anymore to help with anything. If you are looking for somewhere to stay close to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales this place is absolutely perfect. Parking also for two vehicles off-road in front of the property which is ideal. Thank you again Elaine for making our stay really special, we will 100% be booking again when we are back in the area.

Thank you for your feedback, very much appreciated. So pleased you enjoyed your stay, I look forward to welcoming you back in due course. Property Owner
