  • "Fabulous home from home!"

Third visit and can't wait to go back.

  • "We have stayed here with Sykes cottages four times over the last year."

The building and setting are amazing, each apartment is stylish and extremely comfortable, furnished to an exceptional high standard. Each apartment has its own personality, has everything you could possible need and the building, gardens and apartments are immaculately clean. It is so quiet and the beds are so comfortable that a great nights sleep is almost guaranteed..The wonderful market town of Ulverston is a short 5 min stroll away and there is M&S food hall and Aldi across the road. Mike and his team genuinely care about their visitors. We have used the accommodation whilst visiting my Dad in the Hospice in Ulverston. The kindness and thoughtfulness shown to us by Sykes and Stone Cross truly helped us deal with difficult times.

  • "We were extremely pleased with the property which is most impressive."

It is in an excellent position, a short walk from Ulverston centre and even closer to an M and S Extra. It is in a very handy position for trips to the Lakes or the nearby estuaries. The grounds are very well kept and there is plenty of parking. The apartment itself is lovely and immaculately clean. It had everything we needed, including for cooking a full Christmas dinner. We will definitely return. Thank you to all concerned.

  • "We had two week stay, the property and the apartment were just as described."

Very good location and very peaceful both in the apartment and location. Staff were helpful if and when we asked questions. Good location to explore Cumbria and visit old friends and relative's, after emigrating to Canada 32 years ago. We will no doubt return.

  • "Stone Cross Mansion is a wonderful place to stay in Ulverston."

Set in beautiful grounds the mansion is close to local supermarkets and a short 5minute walk into the center where there are several pubs and restaurants. The building is fabulous and the interior has been restored to very high standards with a magnificent entrance hall and staircase. The Lucy suite on the second floor was a great place to stay for two couples. Lovely bedrooms and a large bright living area with an open plan kitchen. I would definitely recommend the accommodation. There are plenty of places to explore nearby or a short drive away.

  • "Super stay in Lucy suite at Stone Cross Mansion, we went on line to book for the same week next year only to see the price has risen by 44% ☹️."

Shocker! We would have strongly recommended to friends and family but not when the price has increased so much in one year ☹️.

Hi Stephen, Thanks for the feedback, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in the Lucy Suite. Looking at the booking I can see you booked the apartment before we had opened which allowed you to book at a pretty great introductory price. The current 2023 prices are in-line with our average December 2022 bookings. Thanks again for your feedback and we hope to see you again soon. Mike and the Stone Cross team Property Owner

Beautiful grounds and stunning hallway led up to the apartment which was a good size and very well equipped. Top range kitchen appliances and plenty of space in the kitchen area. The bathrooms are good quality and all toiletries were supplied. Even without the eating on they were comfortable considering the size of the rooms. Will definitely return . The only let down was the wardrobe storage space was minimal however saying that we stayed for 5 nights so there was plenty of room for us

  • "Stonecross Mansion is absolutely lovely."

We booked the Lucy suite while the suites were still being released and were impressed with its size, given it is two bedroomed, and the equipment provided. The owners are lovely and really helpful too. The welcome hamper was really nice and appreciated, and the games supplied were also very good. We also won’t forget that amazing staircase and the main hall. There were a few teething problems given it’s a new set up but the owners were really helpful and they were resolved quickly. These issues didn’t spoil our stay in any way and I wouldn’t expect them to continue. An extra TV in the larger bedroom would be good.

Thank you for the great and detailed feedback. It really helps us establish what guests are looking for. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Thanks again Mike and the team Property Owner
