The cottage is in a lovely location.........when finished Wyreside Hall will be an outstanding venue for all sorts of functions. Hopefully the access road will be a priority of the development. The cottage was beautifully fitted with very modern conveniences in the kitchen and bathrooms. There were some practical items missing that would have made our stay more comfortable and homely, but this did not impinge on our enjoyment of the holiday. We do not agree with some of the negative comments posted earlier.

About the location

LANCASTER

Morecambe 5 miles; Kendal 21 miles; Windermere 38 miles.

The historic city of Lancaster sits on edge of Morecambe Bay, with the River Lune flowing through its centre. Lancaster retains many excellent examples of handsome Georgian architecture, and with its captivating medieval castle, Ashton Memorial, and four museums, it’s an interesting place for those in search of history and tales of the past. Among the many amenities, there are two venues for live performances, the Lancaster Grand Theatre and the Dukes, as well as open-air concerts held frequently in the pretty Williamson Park during the summer season. The Forest of Bowland and The Arnside & Silverdale Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty provide visitors with lots of opportunities to take in the flora and fauna of the area, with wonderful walking and cycling ways to enjoy. There are also good road and rail links into Cumbria and beyond, meaning Lancaster is a wonderful base for also exploring the Lake District.
