  • “Firstly there were no clear instructions on how to find Skipper , there was half eaten cake left in the fridge by previous occupants so I do wonder if it was cleaned before we took over !”

! It’s a beautiful cottage but the furniture is all very cheap like Argos furniture and not in keeping with the property , the settees were really bad !! There’s no tea plates in the property and very limited crockery , no chopping board ! No knives suitable for buttering bread as they are all pointed !! The view out of the patio doors is not great as you have old half destroyed porta cabins !! I understand they are doing work up there but they could be moved out of view !! Workmen start ...

Workmen start work about 8 going up and down the road at the back on gators ! Gorgeous area tho other than this , And when we did have a problem with the underfloor heating they were very quick on coming out and sorting it, T

Thank you for your recent feedback though we were surprised to read your comments. We leave contact telephone numbers in the property so guests can contact us if they need anything at all. I am glad to hear that we resolved the issue with the underfloor heating quickly for you, it was a shame the other things noted were not brought to our attention so we could have helped further. We have spoken with the cleaning team who do not recall anything being left in the fridge. The furniture is accurately represented by the photographs of the property online and taste and comfort is subjective. The gentleman on the gator is a groundsman, I am glad that you enjoyed the area. - Sykes owner relations

About the location

LANCASTER

Morecambe 5 miles; Kendal 21 miles; Windermere 38 miles.

The historic city of Lancaster sits on edge of Morecambe Bay, with the River Lune flowing through its centre. Lancaster retains many excellent examples of handsome Georgian architecture, and with its captivating medieval castle, Ashton Memorial, and four museums, it’s an interesting place for those in search of history and tales of the past. Among the many amenities, there are two venues for live performances, the Lancaster Grand Theatre and the Dukes, as well as open-air concerts held frequently in the pretty Williamson Park during the summer season. The Forest of Bowland and The Arnside & Silverdale Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty provide visitors with lots of opportunities to take in the flora and fauna of the area, with wonderful walking and cycling ways to enjoy. There are also good road and rail links into Cumbria and beyond, meaning Lancaster is a wonderful base for also exploring the Lake District.
