Very good smart place may be back next year

Sorry to hear about the underfloor heating, I will check that out. Would be great to welcome you back next year! Property Owner

  • "Excellent cottage in a good location for visiting York dales main towns."

The accomodation was comfortable with a modern finish. Whoop Hall could not offer meals but there was plenty of local resteraunts nearby.

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry about the restaurant at Whoop Hall, but it is separate to the holiday cottage. Property Owner

  • "Lark Meadows is a superb cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable with a lovely outdoor patio area to sit and enjoy the views."

We loved returning from a day out and relaxing together as a family; the cottage has a great supply of games and DVDs, and my daughter loved the sofa upstairs in the "snug", it was the perfect place for reading. We have previously stayed on the Meadows in another cottage so we were familiar with the site, it was wonderful to return to the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend Lark Meadows as a relaxing base to explore Kirkby Lonsdale town, and enjoy getting out and about around the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, there's so much nearby to see and do. We would definitely book this cottage again!

Thank you for your lovely comments, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Nice quiet area very close to the main A65 but traffic not noticeable at all."

Farmers fields directly to the side and rear. Asked at the gym/pool about a day pass and they wanted £25 for 2 hours. You can walk into Kirby Lonsdale but there's quite a section on the A65 with no footpath so it's not pleasant. You can however cross the A65 and walk along a public path across a farmers field (with livestock) into Kirby Lonsdale and all around the smaller villages on quiet lanes. Some nice walking maps of the area on the mantle piece. The house had nice quality bedding and towels. Heating system was a bit of a learning curve but we got it to work. Kitchen is getting a little tired but everything worked. Cleaning was very good in some areas but left a little bit to be desired in others.

  • "Lark Meadow is a lovely property on a unique development just outside Kirkby Lonsdale."

It has wonderful views from the patio of the fields and meadows which give the development it’s name. The property itself was very comfortable and clean. I needed to contact the owner about a couple of minor points and she replied promptly, which I was pleased about. We have stayed in several properties in the Meadows and this ranks at the top. We particularly loved Kirkby and Lonsdale, two hand made sheep resting on the hearth. They made us smile every time we came into the lounge!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. Property Owner

Located in lovely surroundings, perfect for our weeks holiday. Would definitely stay again. I know the next-door hotel has no connection to property but it's a shame they don't do day membership for their leisure facilities.

Roku stick is an excellent addition. Pity the membership to the leisure club hadn’t been continued, we ended up driving to Kendal to go for a swim, sauna and steam room.

Thanks for the feedback, during and post COVID, the leisure club opening hours have been very sporadic, therefore we are monitoring the situation with a view to renewing membership in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house with a very private feel despite there being other houses nearby."

Great views and lots to do in the area. We had a very pleasant week. On a practical note, the dishwasher leaked water all over the floor when we used it (we only used it once because of this). The dvd player was very temperamental so it didn't always recognise dvds but we were able to use our laptop instead. Also the water didn't drain too well in the wet shower room downstairs so I had to dry it so that we didn't all get wet feet when we went to the loo afterwards. A door on the shower might be more practical.

Thank you for your feedback. We have looked into the issue with the dishwasher, this has now been resolved. We have taken the other comments on board. Once again, thank you for your feedback and we are glad you enjoyed the property. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was immaculate and so comfortable."

The only trouble from neighbours were sheep and cows, such a lovely view to look out to. The owner was so lovely when we had an unfortunate accident and sorted it without any fuss to ourselves. We would highly recommend and hope to go back again in the not too distant future.

About the location

KIRKBY LONSDALE

Kendal 9 miles.

An attractive market town, Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, midway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The town was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and holds a 13th century Market Charter. Nowadays, Thursday is market day, a perfect opportunity for visitors to explore the variety of distinctive independent shops in the town, or the many 17th and 18th century buildings which still stand. The town was also a finalist for the High Street of the Year Award in 2016. This part of the Lune Valley was a favourite haunt of the artist Turner, and was made famous by Ruskin – his "view" of the valley is still spectacular. The medieval Devil’s Bridge spans the river, and the quiet country lanes are ideal for exploring by car, bike, or even horse. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, fishing and a variety of riverside and country walks, making the area an ideal location for a break, whatever time of year. When voting Kirkby Lonsdale as the ‘Best Place to Live in The North West’ in 2019, The Sunday Times commented it is “An unbeatable Lake District location, bags of community spirit and one of the cleanest high streets in the country".
