  • "A beautiful property with everything we needed for a relaxing break."

Spotlessly clean and well furnished but comfortable, with an open fire that Brendon and Nancy had lit for our arrival. We spent 5 colder days in February there but the cottage was lovely and warm and the surrounding area is good for walking and close to Skipton for shopping and eating out. We would definitely recommend staying here.

  • "The owners were the loveliest hosts during our stay at the beautiful Bay Horse Cottage."

This place is a gem, sitting pretty on a farm just off the main road and only a short hop from Skipton. It's really the perfect combination of being super easy to get to and still feeling like you've escaped to the dreamiest countryside spot. Walking into the cottage was like stepping into a holiday wonderland. You could tell they put a ton of thought into the design, giving the whole place this luxurious yet homey vibe. We were there in December and got to enjoy a festive atmosphere with the cottage and the farm speckled with festive decorations, which gave the place a cozy and magical feel. We absolutely fell in love with Bay Horse Cottage and can't wait to come back. It was such a charming retreat. We will miss waking up to the fluffy sheep sitting outside our window by the swing, watching the farm dog running around outside the kitchen window, and getting glimpses of the donkey rolling around in the mud randomly throughout the day. We can't wait to come back for another visit.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We’re really glad you enjoyed it. We look forward to seeing you again. Brendan and Nancy Property Owner

The open fire was lovely and the view from the cottage was a mixture of lush green fields and a forest at the top of the hills.it was really peaceful and relaxing. When we arrived although it had a key pad entrance system the host did come and introduce herself which is nice and had a quick chat with us, I Like the "Human Touch" The property was easy to find and close to the local town Harrogate, York and Ripon all in easy travel distance and even Kendal in the other direction just an hour away, so all in all a really nice property in an excellent position for local towns (no tight lanes to negotiate) Considering the A65 is fairly close you don't hear it at all, the property is in a really quiet location, we would certainly stay here again when revisiting this area, this was exactly what we like in a rental property.

Immediately we knew we had chosen the perfect cottage to stay in for our short break. Our hosts, although very busy, took the time to chat with us and made us feel very much at home. Our children had an exciting time feeding the alpaca’s, sheep and donkey in the adjacent paddock while we were able to relax in comfort. The facilities are excellent and we wanted for nothing. It was a wonderful stay and we only wish it could have been for longer.

Our only suggestion would be to have the property's name signboarded. We arrived in the dark, and had to ring the owner for help ( which was provided with a smile); a name at the roadside would have obviated the problem. If we lived in this country we'd be regular visitors!

However, would highly recommend and we won't hesitate to return if we are visiting the area again.

However, as we were thinking about rebooking for next year there are a few questions we would like answered. The owner told us that he plans to open a large 5 bedroomed unit with communal lounge. Also olans are in for a large venure catering for 90+ with bar. These plans totally change the setting and would spoil what is at the moment a peaceful retreat from town or city.
