Gorgeous farmhouse. Excellent hosts. And a set of calm, contented animals we thoroughly enjoyed meeting. What more could we ask for? Such a pleasure to stay here.

  • "Fantastic cottage."

Feels like you’re in your own home. Nancy and brendan very friendly and helpful. We loved the alpacas and George the donkey. Very relaxed atmosphere. The arga is perfect for cooking! Always hot water. Cottage interior is superb, old style and everything matches the era. Definitely looking forward to returning! Eddie

  • "We had a lovely stay at Bay Horse Farm, such a great welcoming cottage and hosts, including the alpacas and donkey!"

Cooking on the aga was also a highlight, especially the toasting rack! Great location too, nothing was too far away. We did various activities including Bolton Abbey, a steam railway ride, canal boat trip, and bowling and darts for the teenagers as well as a visit to Aireville Park. Skipton Castle and a mooch around the town was also ticked off. We had evening meals in the cottage a couple of nights and also ventured to the best fish and chips place The Frying Yorkshireman in nearby Gargrave and The Fountaine Inn at Linton. After we checked out on the Friday morning we headed to Billy Bob's Diner which was amazing - full on American style diner where we overdosed on waffles and pancakes. A brilliant week was had by all 7 of us in a very lovely cottage. Thank you xx

  • "Lovely house, plenty of space for 6 adults and 3 children."

The welcome pack was appreciated. Nancy and Brendan the owners were friendly and helpful. The animals were a big hit with adults and children. Skipton is a great place within walking distance of the house, we hired a canal boat for the day which was great fun, and to top it off the sun shone every day!

The welcome pack of organic eggs, milk Prosecco was very thoughtful. Truly felt like a home away from home with the owners being brilliant hosts and very helpful. Loved cooking on the AGA and spending time as a family in the well equipped cottage. We will surely be back again. Thank you

Thank you for your very kind feedback. We’re really glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope the family have a good journey home. We look forward to seeing you again. Brendan and Nancy. Ps. Don’t forget the recipe! Property Owner

  • "Well what can I say?"

The Bay Horse Farm has everything. Wonderful location, quirky animals, historical charm and hosts that are becoming very rare these days. Friendly but thoughtfull, helpful but discreet. We left the best until last and we are so thankful we did. Staying here was the highlight of a 5 week European stay. A home from home. We will definitely be back. Thank you B and N for making us, and especially my children, feel so welcome at your wonderful farm.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We’re really glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you on your next visit to England. Property Owner

  • "Our family short break holiday was perfect."

The 9 of us had an amazing time, all our needs were catered for. The standard of the accommodation is excellent and the owners Nancy and Brendan could not do enough to help and they were so friendly. There were such a lot of finishing touches at the property, both in the rooms and in the welcome pack of biscuits, prosecco, crisps and fresh eggs which were so thoughtful. To have a wood and coal supply was also great. The location of the property is excellent being so close to Skipton but also tothe rest of the Dales and very accessible by car. Local walks available from the door. All in all 5 stars for everything.

  • "Exceeded our expectations of a holiday rental."

The property is packed with old bits and bobs and original features like the stones floors, oak beams, open fires, old working range and yet has all the modern comforts - modern bathrooms, elec aga, super comfy beds/ linens, central heating etc. very spacious. What made it extra special were details like the very generous welcome pack inc 12 home laid eggs, Prosecco and large tin of M&S choc biscuits! And that each of the 3 open fires were set ready for a match which was amazing. We ate dinner alongside the range fire - so cosy. We sat in the kitchen around the warm aga chatting. Just perfect !

  • "What an absolutely perfect find!"

I can’t begin to explain how quickly we fell in love with Bay Horse Farm- the garden, the beautiful bedrooms each different to the other- the size of the baths! The whole place was absolutely spotless, and was the most charming place to stay. We were left fresh farm eggs, some milk, plenty of bottled water and the house had majority of the basics for cooking etc. loads of plates and dishes and cutlery for serving food and a dishwasher! We as a group have already discussed coming back. Thanks for a beautiful stay!

Thank you for your kind feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again soon. Kind Regards, Brendan and Nancy. Property Owner

The resident alpacas, George the donkey, as well as Paul the sheep, also kept the grandchildren both amused and engaged. The facilities were absolutely perfect - well-appointed rooms, pre-set open fires, and a very spacious garden. Thank you!

  • "We booked Bay Horse Farm on the rebound following a very late cancellation of our original booking at another property."

It turned out to be quite serendipitous! Our party of ten (six adults and four children) absolutely loved our stay in this fantastic property. While providing modern features of comfort it completely retains its period charm with wooden beamed ceilings, open fires in three downstairs rooms, a superb kitchen with original stone floor and electric Aga. It is snug and cosy yet offered more than enough space for our extended family to spread out and for the children to play. I was particularly impressed by the art work on the walls which is both tasteful and varied. The owners live on the site and were helpful and friendly and they provided us with an exceptionally generous 'welcome' pack of goodies.

  • "We came to stay at the property with family to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday."

It is perfectly situated two miles out of Skipton, which is only a five minute drive away, and with stunning views. The house was beautifully warm when we arrived on a chilly evening and we were made very welcome by the owners. The house is charming and has lots of interesting features, including fires which could be lit in the three reception rooms, and lots of nooks and crannies. The bedrooms were beautifully comfortable and the bathrooms clean and well stocked. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, although we could barely get the youngsters (11, 9 & 7) inside as they spotted the swing in the paddock as soon as they arrived, where they played for ages, surrounded by a sheep, two alpacas and a donkey. There is a lovely walk by the canal, just short walk from the house and a fabulous farm shop just a mile away. Skipton is a very pretty town and we visited the castle, had a trip on the canal on a barge and ate out one evening at a lovely bistro. We had a wonderful time and can thoroughly recommend it.

  • "What a great holiday house!"

11 of us (children and adults) stayed for a weekend and owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The place was spotless, warm and the welcome pack very welcome! We loved this old farm house which is quirky and a bit of a Tardis. You will find everything you need here (including alpaca's and donkey) and the location is a great base for the local area. I would highly recommend booking and would stay again in the future. Thanks to the owners again for a great stay!
