"A lovely cottage in a great location."
We stayed with 2 friends and the cottage had everything that you needed for a comfortable stay. It was good to have 2 en-suite bedrooms, a comfortable lounge and a well equipped kitchen. The view of the canal was an added bonus. The location is good for visiting the surrounding area and the mile walk along the canal into Skipton is a pleasure to do. We would certainly stay here again.
"What a wonderful cottage."
Clean & everything you need. Lovely walk down Canal into Skipton. Beautiful views.
"Lovely property in a delightful setting."
Sorry walk into town asking the canal.
"Such a lovely cottage."
Spotlessly clean.Had everything we needed.Lovely warm cottage and was glad of this especially with the snow.Beautiful views.Would certainly recommend this lovely cottage.
"We really enjoyed our stay at Zoe cottage Lovely and warm ,comfortable and perfectly located."
Logs for the fire were provided . We will return next year for sure .1 mile walk along the canal to Skipton where there were plenty of pubs cafes and restaurants and shops .
"A really enjoyable break, the cottage was comfortable, clean and cosy."
Everything was in place to make a very relaxing holiday.
"Fantastic accommodation achieved without fuss or a needless list of rules."
Clean, comfortable and well equipped with great views and plenty of easy parking. Good value.
"Really nice place."
Friendly owner and great location.
"A lovely cottage in a great location."
We found it annoying that some basic maintenance had not been carried out prior to our visit. For example the clock in the lounge needed a new battery and quite a few of the light bulbs needed replacing. Life could be made easier if a tray for carrying hot drinks had been provided. In the kitchen a couple of ore chopping boards would have made it safer to prepare cooked/uncooked food. All fairly minor items.
Very clean and comfortable. Jeanette Marshal was very helpful owner living at farm. Great views from cottage. 20 minute walk into Skipton along canal towpath is realistic. Railway Station about 15 minutes that way. Trains to Leeds, York, Morecambe and of course along the Settle to Carlisle line! Dales on doorstep. Lovely to visit Grassington, Skipton and Aysgarth again and to walk along the Wharfe from Grassington to Hebden with lovely tearooms in both villages. East Riddlesden Hall [NT] was a first and most enjoyable visit. Two pensioners.
"A well equipped cottage set in a lovely location, would definitely recommend and use again."
"Very comfortable & well equipped cottage in an excellent location, would book again."
"The cottage is roomy and comfortable with lovely views over the canal and hills."
The owner is friendly and helpful. It’s an easy 25 minute walk along the canal bank into Skipton. We spent a lovely week with plenty of things to do. The newly refurbished Royal Shepherd is worth a visit. The portions are very generous.
"Perfect in every way."
The cottage, the location, the walks, Skipton even the weather.
"Location by the Leeds Liverpool Canal gives old people like us a pleasant easy walk and you can walk just 1 mile into Skipton centre."
Plenty of sightseeing north in the dales and south to Bronte country within 10 -15 miles by car, more strenuous walking and other canal walks within easy reach.. Facilities in the three cottages are all excellent, as long as you enjoy being in close proximity of a farm, excellent free range eggs for sale.
"Superb cottage in farm location but only 5 mins drive into town."
Beautiful views. Very comfortable. Would recommend.
"Walk along the canal into Skipton took longer than it says in the information book So be aware of the time it takes when going back to the cottage as it's too dark to walk along the canal and no footpath near the cottage on the road ."
Even the buses don't drop off near the cottage .
"Zoey cottage is superb, every care has been taken to make sure that visitors are comfortable and well catered for."
It would be difficult to find any faults, from the cleanliness, to all the facilities provided. Not only that, but the location and views from the cottage are brilliant. Add to that the friendly and helpful owners, and it makes for a good holiday.
"Zoey cottage is a wonderful place to stay."
Close to Skipton town whilst being quiet and peaceful. We stayed as a family of four with children aged 4 and 7. The views are stunning from the front garden. The cottage is beautifully clean and equipped with all you would need for a holiday. We have been before and will keep returning!! Owners happy to help with anything asked of them. The children loved feeding the chickens and buying the eggs from the farm!
"Great Place to stay."
Lovely cottage, great views, very comfortable. Good beds. Love the walk in shower. Only thing if you can fix it: the sofas are too soft. A firmer sitting experience would have even been better.
"A lovely cottage in the Yorkshire Dales, this was our second stay as it’s an ideal spot exploring the area, next to the canal for walking the towpath and close enough to the main driving routes , comfortable beds, large bedrooms and en-suites, a small recommendation would be a fan for the bedrooms for when the weather is hot , we would definitely return some time in the future."
"First class accommodation"
"A lovely clean, comfortable cottage, with beautiful views in a great location, and a very friendly owner."
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
"Owner was very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble gave us good directions to cottage, on arrival cottage was better than we had expected warm, bright, clean and very tidy, owner has gone out of her way to provide all that you need for a pleasant comfortable stay well done; Cottage is in an ideal place to visit to Skipton and surrounding areas, we had read some of the reviews for this cottage, with the lovely views out of the bedroom windows why would you need pictures on the walls?"
"No Gift" The gift we received was that the price was good for this area, I have trouble sleeping my wife and I found the bed very comfortable slept ok, My only complaint is that we only stayed one week.
"The cottage was actually better than it looked in the pictures, the only downside for us was the fact that the beds had cheap mattresses on them which gave us both back ache."
The double in the main bedroom was way too hard and the two singles were rather over used and sagged. Other than that this was a fantastic location with stunning views, and all in all a lovely roomy cottage. Would definitely go back but take a mattress topper next time.
"We have just returned from a fabulous family holiday staying in Zoey Cottage, the Cottage is a good size for a family of 4,comfortable accommodation with beautiful views from the garden over looking the Leeds to Liverpool Canal and picturesque hillsides, the owners are lovely & helpful, fresh eggs from the farm everyday was great, Skipton is only a 20 minute walk along the toe path where you’ll find an abundance of shops, cafes & restaurants, this really is a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales so much so we had already booked again for next year before we had left !"
"Beautiful cottage, so comfortable."
I should imagine in the autum and winter very cosy. The views were spectacular.
"With a dishwasher it would be an improvement to have more crockery."
"Lovely large cottage in a good location, more like a home than a holiday property."
Very comfortable beds and both ensuite bathrooms have large showers. One of the best cottages we stayed in and I would definitely recommend it.
"The cottage was excellent in every way, first class accommodation with everything you could wish for."
Owner made a point of introducing herself and was very helpful and happy to assist in anyway she could. Only a 25 minute walk into Skipton along the canal path and would definitely recommend the Woolly Sheep for an evening meal, but it is advisable to book. The location is ideal for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales be it by foot or by car.
"Very good location , with a lovely walk into Skipton by the Canal ."
"Broken washing machine, dirty toilet brushes, hairs in shower, lack of privacy in spartan back garden, no pictures in bedrooms, grubby carpets, minimal cleaning."
It would have been nice to see the owner. No welcome gift.
"A wonderful cottage in a great location ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and York."
A very friendly owner who makes you most welcome.
"We have stayed in lots of cottages over many years and this is the best by a long way."
Jennette was so friendly and helpful. The views in all directions were fabulous with lambs in the fields and canal barges passing by. Will definitely be returning.
"Lovely spacious cottage with terrific views, helpful and friendly owner for any advice."
Working farm and small campsite so lots of interest going on. Great location for all of West Yorkshire, we also went as far as York in just over an hour.
"This cottage can be highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of the Yorkshire dales but who also wants a comfortable, relaxing and clean place to stay."
"The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable with lovely views."
We thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Very comfortable, spacious cottage and friendly hosts."
Good location to explore the Dales. We've had a great time.
"The property is in a beautiful part of Yorkshire and is exceptionally clean and tidy."
There was a lovely relaxed feel to it and it really did feel like you were 'home from home'. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. It is an ideal cottage for families. We will definitely be going back!
"Zoey cottage is in an ideal location looking over a quiet area of the canal yet only a 20 minute walk into Skipton."
The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. There is a terrace of 3 cottages and Zoey is the middle one. The campsite is further along the farm from the cottages and we were never troubled by noise from the campsite or our neighbours. Parking is right outside the front door. We highly recommend the Rhubarb restaurant at Herriots which is on the canal side about 15 minutes from the cottage - excellent food and service.

This welcoming mid-terrace cottage is just a short walk along the canal from the centre of Skipton, and comes with charming country views.
There’s a lovely sitting room with an open fire, and a dining kitchen with patio doors making the most of the beautiful views towards the distant fells.
Upstairs are two spacious bedrooms, both with first-class en-suites and far-reaching views skimming over the canal to the open countryside beyond.
Along with the private, enclosed garden is a spacious grassed area adjoining the moorings, offering an ideal place to watch the narrow boats make their way down the waterways.
A lovely cottage in a memorable location.

Niffany Farm Cottages
A group of four terraced cottages, located on a family-run working livestock farm on the outskirts of the ever-popular market town of Skipton. Nestled alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the owners' private moorings and small campsite, in an open paddock, these cottages provide a wonderful holiday base whether booked together or separately. Each boasts outstanding views across the sweeping surrounding countryside towards the beautiful moorlands above Elslack and the Broughton Hall Estate. The cottages have been designed with modernity in mind to offer contemporary, luxury living in an enviable location, out in the beautiful Dales countryside and yet only a short walk from the many attractions of Skipton. Many of the bedrooms have flat screen TVs and come with luxury en-suite facilities, while the living areas each offer a cosy woodburner or open fire. Outside are private gardens adjoining each cottage, along with a shared clubhouse. Niffany Farm is very much a living, working farm and so any younger guests will adore observing the animal activities and daily comings and goings, while there is a shared clubhouse for everyone to enjoy. Lovely canalside walks lead from the doorstep, taking you straight into Skipton centre where you’ll find a wide selection of restaurants, tea rooms and coffee shops, while the traditional market sells fresh local produce throughout the year. Booked individually or as a group to accommodate larger gatherings, these charming cottages are wonderfully-placed for your Dales getaway.
About the location
Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.
Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
