"A lovely comfortable property with a magnificent view, from the house, of Ullswater and the fells beyond."
There’s plenty of internal space - ideal for two families sharing, since there are two bedroom ‘wings’ on either side of a large kitchen/sitting room/dining room plus another spacious and very comfortable sitting/ television room. Highly recommended.
Isabel , So pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay . As you say - ideal for two families due to the lay out . Greeatblication and views. Hope to see you again soon Property Owner
"Absolutely 5 star experience."
The cottage is beautiful with everything needed for a perfect stay. More than enough bathrooms. Everything was quality. Views of the lake and mountains from the snug were breathtaking. Aura Force waterfall is a beautiful walk 15 minutes away and Pooley bridge is 10 minutes the other way. I would highly recommend this property!
Lynn, Thank you for such positive feedback and 100% rating !! Very much appreciated by us all . It is such a fantastic location one of our favourites too. Best wishes Property Owner
"Most comfortable and well equipped holiday rental we have stayed in."
Great location and lovely views of the lake. The house would benefit from a room to leave (and dry) muddy boots and wet outdoor clothing.
David , Great positive feedback with 100 % rating - Many thanks . We agree with the location and views to the Lakes and fells towering above Take your point re the “ Drying Room “ Property Owner
"The holiday was booked for 4 of us."
But unfortunately 1 of our group was ill and unable to join us. However we loved the house, truly luxurious in all the rooms. Beautiful views over Ullswater Lake. Everything had been thought of, from the comfortable sitting room to the massive kitchen, dining room with sofas. The bedrooms were very comfortable and we all slept well. The only noise was the gentle Baa’s from the sheep! We were out and about every day. Highlights were the afternoon on the Ullswater Steamer, very relaxing. Ambleside was a lovely town to go and visit. We so hope to meet up at the house again, great place to make lovely memories!
Susan , Thank you for such a fantastic review . We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay . You don’t need to count sheep here to sleep !! Property Owner
"Great location with amazing views."
Very convenient for reaching other parts of the northern Lake District. Brackenrigg Inn very handy for evening meals/drinks.
"We had an amazing time for Mother in Laws 80th birthday weekend, everything we needed."
Even in the middle of storm Ciara!! Only suggestion would be the directions, it is very easy to find if you publish that it is behind the Brackenrigg Pub. We spent an hour driving round on the first night x
"The property was exceptional- everything had been thought of and we had a wonderful week."
"Amazing cottage, with beautiful views over Ullswater."
Clean, with lovely modern cosy decor and equipped with everything you could think of for a perfect family holiday. Great base to explore the Lakes. We'd love to return :)
"The villa was of a very high standard and met our expectations amply; really lovely setting actually."
I hadn't fully appreciated that there would be a fine view of Ullswater from the garden and upstairs bedroom. The kitchen/living area was spacious and the lounge a very comfortable space. It was clean and tidy upon arrival, and all the amenities worked fine. It really suited us to stay here for a week as an extended family; many thanks and congratulations to the owner!
"Lake view is a perfect rental."
Excellent location and really well equipped. It was a perfect setting for our four generations get together because of the two bedrooms downstairs. Four bathrooms are a great idea. Cosy and comfortable and very well prepared. I left a coat in the cottage cloak cupboard and Sykes contacted me to arrange its return. I was very impressed. I was also impressed with the Sykes booking process.
"A beautiful property!"
A group of 8 of us had an amazing weekend. I would highly recommend it.
Thank you for your kind comments about Lake View. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Property Owner
"This is a very beautiful house with fantastic views from the kitchen, dining area and lounge across to the lake and mountains."
The modern design and facilities are like something from 'Ideal Home' yet we immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. It is furnished to the highest standards. We loved the big live-in kitchen and the separate lounge. Great bathrooms and showers. Few very minor suggestions such as a BBQ and some partial screening for the outside table from the road. The location is great especially if you like to be away from the crowds. Views are fantastic. The pub almost next door is handy with fun pub quiz yet doesn't impact in terms of noise at all. In terms of value for money, the price we paid was just right. A great holiday. Would definitely consider staying again.
Thank you so much for your feedback! The owner takes a great deal of pride and time in making sure the property is offered at its very best. Property Owner
"Plenty of flies around as in a farming state ."
Thank you for your feedback. As you say, being in a farming area it can attract all aspects of nature and wild life. We hope that this did not detract from the stunning scenery surrounding Lake View or your time in the beautiful Lake District. Property Owner

About the location
Pooley Bridge 2.5 miles; Glenridding 6.2 miles; Penrith 8.5 miles.
The elevated scattered village of Watermillock runs parallel to the main road alongside Ullswater Lake and is mainly a farming community. Just 2.5 miles away is Pooley Bridge with its array of amenities which sits on the northern shore of the lake in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley originated due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. Glenridding (meaning glen overgrown with bracken) is a small tourist village with a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Watermillock is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
