  • "Absolutely stunning place to stay."

Peaceful, welcoming and perfect for your four legged friend. We couldn’t have asked for anymore. Derek and Sue had prepared the best welcome pack we’ve ever had and such a lovely surprise after a long drive. The Annex was presented to the highest standards with a lovely enclosed garden for Bluebell. The skylights above the bed were perfect for stargazing too. We can’t wait to come back.

Very peaceful which is what we were aiming for with our anxious dog who loved it and the wonderful garden. The owners had kindly left us a welcome package of breakfast items which was such a lovely thing to find and very thoughtful! The big bed with a TV that rises out of the end was amazing and very relaxing! Highly recommend!

The property is really nicely done out & cozy. The enclosed garden was a must for our dog. The welcome package included lots of goodies, which were very much appreciated. There’s a Coop around the corner if you need any bits & bobs. Lovely walks from the Annex, with Morecombe bay a mile down the road. Would go again

The bed was massive with a retractable tv at the end of it. Shower was excellent. Kitchen was good, just couldn’t find a fault. There was a bottle of red waiting for us when we got there and breakfast in the fridge plus bread and milk, fantastic hosting. We did the hill walk up to the monument then on the way back a great pub crawl around Ulverston. There was a charging point for my electric car that was free yes free. Can’t wait to visit again in the summer.

Very comfortable TV bed. An amazing welcome pack on arrival. Everything you would need for self catering. Private secure garden for dogs. Lovely walks around the property leading to the beach. The owners are very welcoming and have all the information you would need and more. The temple down the road has a lovely cafe under cover. A great base to visit the beautiful surrounding lakes. Derek and Sue the owners were wonderful, even invited us round for a BBQ where our dog Beau made herself right at home. Beautiful walks from the door, this is a perfect location for travelling to Windermere and Buttermere was amazing a must to visit. Very sad to be back at home.

The Annexe is a beautiful haven. Very friendly and welcoming owners who go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Fantastic welcome pack, one of the best we have ever had - thank you! Whether you want to go walking, sightseeing or just R&R (like we did) - the Annexe has it all. Lovely walks to the beach and a visit to Conishead Priory is a must. We were very lucky with the weather and sat out in the garden every day - the garden is very private and is surrounded by beautiful views, wildlife and cows who come to say hello! The week went so quickly and we didn't want to leave - but we will be going back for sure. Thank you Susan and Derek for a fabulous week and for sharing your haven with us. Gerry & Graham

The hosts are exceptionally friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best stay ever. We were even offered a chilled beer on arrival which was lovely. They loved seeing Bella (our bunny). The accommodation is beautiful and is maintained and cleaned to a very high standard. It also had the best welcome hamper we've ever received which makes all the difference. The garden attached is lovely and has a stunning view being accompanied by sheep and cows. It's definitely one of, if not the best place we have stayed at during our time using sykes and we hope to stay again at some point in the future. Thanks for having us and keep doing what you're doing. Kindest regards, Anthony

5 star hotels don't go to the lengths that Derek and Susan go to. The accommodation was modern, well equipped and sparkling clean, the welcome pack was a very pleasant surprise, the bed was so big and comfy I didn't want to get up in the morning, and the built in TV in the bottom of the bed was awesome. The hosts could not do enough for us, in fact Sue cooked chicken for our pooch as she was a bit out of sorts. Would I recommend The Annex? In a heartbeat I would, and you have all the Lake District and beyond to explore. Great holiday, big thanks Susan & Derek. Mick & Sue
