Could not of asked for a more well equipped beautiful home, had everything we needed and more , lovely welcomes supplies, and all furniture was to a high standard, and comfy, they haven’t cut corners anywhere, the owner is very helpful and responsive, as we left an important item and he helped me sort out collection, I would definitely recommend staying here and will hopefully be returning in the summer 11/10

Thank you for your very positive comments. We've tried to think of everything we would look for in a holiday cottage. We do hope you will return. John & Jen Property Owner

Tip- couldn't get LG smart Tv to get catchup services (have an LG smart Tv at home) but took Amazon Tv Firestick which I use for non smart TV's at home, plugged in connected to wi fi.. Stick retains all passwords(free and paid for accounts ) . Instant smart TV

Thank you for your feedback and comments. I have just bought today a brand new 50" Smart Tv with built in Apps and Freeview...sorry it wasn't there for your stay, but it will definitely be up on the wall for your return stay! Kind regards, John & Jen Property Owner

  • "Great little cottage."

The big living room/kitchen was ideal for a group holiday - no one felt left out when it was their turn to cook! The kitchen was the best equipped I've ever come across in a holiday rental, the beds were comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and the lovely view from the sociable outside space was a bonus. Could not have asked for more. The wifi went down when we were there, I contacted the owner and he could not have been more helpful or efficient in getting it sorted for us.

Thank you for your very complimentary review. Glad to hear that the layout of the cottage works well for entertaining. I must thank Vodafone & Openreach for fixing the local fault in the village with the Wi-fi so quickly. John & Jen Property Owner

  • "The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable and is well situated for the lakes and places like Barnard Castle."

The weather was not so good, but we did get sunny periods between showers and packed a lot into our 5 night stay. There was the annual Warcop Rush Bearing parade, with a procession of crown and rushbearers (local school children) through the village, accompanied by a brass band. Only real criticism is that the lounge TV could do with an upgrade - no Sky or ability to stream / set up things like Netflix, so evenings / bad weather times were a bit dull.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. It is indeed ideally situated for trips to the Lake District as well as the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines AONB. It was a bonus that there was an annual village parade held during your stay. I will look at upgrading the smart TV...to an even smarter model for the future! Kind regards, John & Jen Property Owner

  • "Lovely new built cottage in quiet village EV charger a plus."

I have never stayed in a rented house which was so clean. Very well equipped with everything you would need. Warcop is about 10 min drive to Kirby Stephen where there is plenty of shops pubs etc. Only 30 mins from the wonders of Butter Tubs pass and all that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer Highly recommended

Thank you very much for your positive comments. The changeover clean is very important and what we are probably most judged on, we will pass on your comments to our regular cleaner whom I'm sure will appreciate that. The EV Charger is something that is becoming more and more relevant as the nation gradually changes over to EV cars. Kind regards, John & Jen Property Owner

There was walks for the dog from the door and it was in a really quiet location. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was about 5 miles from a shop for essentials which suited us as we liked the isolation and the lovely views. Really well thought out cottage but do take essentials or eat out.

Thank you for your feedback comments about your recent stay at the cottage. We did consider putting in King size beds, but thought that regular double beds would take up less space and still be suitable for the bedrooms. The underfloor heating is powered by an air source heat pump, and although it can take a little longer than radiators to warm up, the house is very well insulated, so it will retain the heat longer. Glad you thought you stay was still brilliant! John & Jen Property Owner

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and a few luxuries such as Smart TV's and pod coffee machine. It really has been built and furnished to a high standard. There is a nice view from the patio area which is ideal for sitting out in the evenings or having a BBQ. Warcop has a nice little steam running through it and there are plenty of walks/bike rides from the doorstep taking you out into the beautiful countryside. We visited nearby Appleby and Kirkby Stephen and a bit further out to Penrith. The owner was super friendly with great communication.

  • "This is a modern cottage on an old site, decorated and equipped to a high standard."

Everything you would expect in a holiday house was provided. There is a very pleasant patio area at the back with a lovely view over farmland and, in June, a beautiful wildflower meadow. The owners were very accommodating about arrival and check out. Warcop is an attractive village - pity the pub is closed down. We had the added bonus of Romany caravans and their horses on their way to Appleby. There is a very pretty stretch of river, great for young children, a short walk away.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We hope that the Warcop village pub renovations will be completed and that the pub re-opens. There is a nice pub, The Sandford Arms, in the next village of Sandford. Plus there are several good pubs (I know!) in the nearby towns of Kirby Stephen and Appleby-in-Westmorland. Lovely spot and plenty to do within a short drive. Literally the only thing I would do to improve it would be to add a side gate to keep dogs/children secure. Couldn't fault it at all and hope to one day return. Made good use of the board games and even relaxed enough to read a couple of books from the book case. Can highly reccomend a drink in the 'Taggy Man' in Kirby Stephen and a full English or stack of pancakes in Lily's cafe in Appleby. Had a lovely day out on Ullswater Lake "Ullswater Steamers" leaving from Pooley Bridge: must book in advance as well as a day out in Durham. Stocked up on all shopping in Appleby, Low Howgill butchers and the green grocers next door were fab.

Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. It is our intention to put up a side gate. We are just waiting on the builder. We look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

The village of Warcop is lovely and we enjoyed local walks as a family. The cottage is well placed for the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
