APARTMENT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE MORE THAN ENOUGH CROCKERY GLASSES POTS PANS etc IT WAS IDEALLY SITUATED NEXT TO THE LAKE AND SHORT WALK INTO AMBLESIDE Reviewed by GailSep 2018 "I had a very nice holiday the apartment was clean and very comfortable although the decor was rather dark and uninviting with dated dark pine fittings." Was surprised there was no welcome pack not even tea or coffee !! also inconvenient having to watch how much electricity was used as did not want to be presented with a large bill at the end of my holiday And it's not a good end to a holiday to be asked to strip the beds before you leave this is said to be optional but although I am 70 yrs old felt obliged to do this Although the apartment did not have a lake view it was just yards from the shore and boats with a good choice of restaurants and cafes didn't manage the short stroll !!! Into Ambleside but the shuttle bus although expensive is a good option Enjoyed cruising on the lake nice not to have to drive everywhere as the boats call at all the main attractions Reviewed by CarolSep 2018 "The apartment is a home from home with all the essentials provided and some nice ..." The apartment is a home from home with all the essentials provided and some nice touches not expected like shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom It is perfectly located for walking and site seeing in the lakes The pool area and sauna is a welcome bonus Reviewed by ChrisAug 2018 "Lovely location" Reviewed by AndrewJul 2018 "The complex is ideally located in Waterhead." We were allocated a ground floor apt on arrival (not apt 3!) but this was ideal for us having two infants in prams. The decor is a little dated in the apt but there is everything you need for self catering. The beds are very comfortable. Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
