“Patricia the owner of rampgill is really nice & helpful.”

The flat is comfortable, the views out of the front window are of the lake at the end of the lawn. Could not be better. We were a little ristricted because of CORVID 19, didn't want to catch or cause, but we enjoyed a most relaxing week. One small criticism, my partner found the bed uncomfortable. I slept fine. Thanks would go again

Set in two acres of private gardens and offering marvellous lake and mountain views, this lodge enjoys an unbeatable location which would appeal to any couple looking for a rejuvenating retreat to the lakes.

The open-plan living area houses a corner sofa with plenty of room to stretch out and recover from your days walk, whilst the compact yet well-equipped kitchen has everything needed to help prepare your meals.

The bedroom has a double bed and a bath enclosure with a shower over, as well as basin and large wardrobe with vanity unit.

Follow the footpath around the lake shore and uncover an abundance of natural beauty along the way before returning for a glass of wine amidst this lovely setting.

The lake offers a number of outdoor activities, from sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing or perhaps you would like to sit back and take a lake cruise on one of the steamers.

About the location

WATERMILLOCK

Pooley Bridge 2.5 miles; Glenridding 6.2 miles; Penrith 8.5 miles.

The elevated scattered village of Watermillock runs parallel to the main road alongside Ullswater Lake and is mainly a farming community. Just 2.5 miles away is Pooley Bridge with its array of amenities which sits on the northern shore of the lake in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley originated due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. Glenridding (meaning glen overgrown with bracken) is a small tourist village with a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Watermillock is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
