We had a lovely weekend at West Pasture Cottage and the weather was glorious. We had a very warm welcome from Jane and were treated to homemade chocolate cake plus tea, coffee, sugar and milk on arrival. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.The views are amazing and we spent most of the weekend outside walking or simply enjoying the views and wildlife. We had a very warm welcome from Jane and were treated to homemade chocolate cake plus tea, coffee, sugar and milk on arrival. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.The views are amazing and we spent most of the weekend outside walking or simply enjoying the views and wildlife. The whole area is lovely and there are lots of interesting places to visit. On Sunday afternoon a convoy of approximately 20 vintage tractors passed by which was a surprising treat.We would love to return but for at least a week next time.

The small hamlet of Mickleton is situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale, close to the villages of Romaldkirk and Middleton in Teesdale and within a few miles of the market town of Barnard Castle. Mickleton itself consists of a cluster of stone houses along a single street and offers two pubs, one serving excellent food, along with a petrol station/garage. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep with The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, The River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force all close by. There are also excellent cycling facilities in the dale and Hamsterley Forest.
