The property

An outstanding Grade II listed property, nestled within the quaint village of Wetheral.

This Victorian dwelling was designed and built in 1872 for a wealthy tea merchant and today makes the perfect base for a friends and family gathering for seasonal festivities or a group celebration.

This spacious property has wonderfully retained many of its original features throughout the property, making this a charming base to come back to with your loved ones after a busy day exploring the area.

For a relaxing evening, head into the larger sitting room where you can read a book with the idyllic bay window, whilst keeping toasty and warm in front of a roaring coal-effect fire, or simply curl up with your loved ones on the L-shape sofa to catch up on your TV shows.

If you fancy a more active evening, then the games room is ideal for hosting a leisurely game of table tennis.

Fulfilling your culinary needs is a traditional kitchen, where the designated chef can make use of an impressive AGA cooker, resting within the inglenook fireplace, before joining the rest of the group within the formal dining room, perfect for enjoying a sociable meal.

Step into the spacious hallway where you will be delighted with the decorative coloured glass windows and the traditional Victorian floor tiles before heading up the staircase to the first-floor.

After an adventure filled day, retire to one of the elegantly-presented bedrooms offering delightful spaces to wake up to before heading out for the day.

Completing this floor are two family bathrooms, where one boasts beautiful Victorian sanitary ware with gold plated fittings.

During the warmer months, venture outside to enjoy the property’s spacious garden area, complete with lawn with mature shrubs and borders.

If you fancy a special treat one evening, a short stroll will bring you to a restaurant and pub, as well as a village storage where you can pick up your holiday essentials.

Brush up on the local history by visiting the selection of historic attractions, including the waterfall from Corby Castle, the 19th century viaduct which towers the River Eden and the remains of an abbey within the village itself.

Alternatively, head to the city of Carlisle where you will find a wealth of amenities and attractions to suit all.

Eden Mount promises a wonderful base for a group gathering to Cumbria.

The village of Wetheral lies five miles from Carlisle in the north of Cumbria. With great transport links, Wetheral has a quaint village green and is overlooked by a restaurant, pub, village shop and tearooms, along with the Crown Hotel. A short steep walk takes you past the church and remains of the abbey to the River Eden. To the east, the 19th century viaduct towers above the river with some of the best salmon fishing in the country. Further along the river you can view a wonderful waterfall from Corby Castle, and woodland walks lead to the remains of the caves used in the 14th century.
