  • "A stunning, well equipped property with fantastic owners who take great care of their guests."

Property is within 5 minute walk of the local town filled with pubs, bars and restaurants (most of which are dog friendly!). Countless walking routes both nearby and a short drive away. Welcome pack was fantastic and made us feel really at home. We will definitely be returning!

Thank you for such lovely feedback. It was a pleasure to meet you both and of course lovely Sully. Glad you enjoyed your stay despite the mixed weather!.We look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

We were very lucky with gorgeous autumn sunshine! Very clean, well set up and equipped. Only short walk to the centre. The owner Julie was lovely, on hand if needed but also left us alone. She and her son came over when we couldn't work out the remote control! Lovely garden for my dog, they even had a poo bin in the garden!

We really appreciate you taking the time to leave such positive feedback. It was lovely to meet you both and big softie Max. You certainly made the most of the crisp autumn weather! Will think of you both when it’s Manchester United v City. Thanks for choosing The Lodge, kindest regards to you both, Julie & Paul Property Owner

The lodge is absolutely beautiful, well presented and has everything you need. After exploring the local area , it is lovely to come back and chill in-front of the telly with a drink on one of the comfy sofas. The bed was amazing , slept so well. Located only a five minute walk into the town that has excellent facilities. The Dog Inn was very welcoming and The Friary fish and chips were exceptional . We walked up to Spring Wood , which was a bit muddy due to the rain we had but worth a visit. Train Station was only 15 minute walk to travel further afield as well as bus station 10 mins away. Julie was a prefect host ,very welcoming and who was on hand to offer advice on where to go. Definitely will be back to visit more of the Ribble Valley. Thank you Julie , Sam ,Linden &Ozzie xx

Comfortable, clean, spacious cottage. Julie is lovely, very helpful and really cares about her guests & their dogs. Location is great, quiet yet a few minutes walk to the village where there there is everything you need. Restaurants, shops & takeaways etc. Dog walks from the house. We visited Gawthorpe Hall which was free to park and had a lovely walk & Clitheroe Castle where there was a large beautiful free grounds to walk plus a large dog field. We definitely would recommend staying here and we look forward to going back.

We were 3 adults and a dog and there was so much space, it was great. The facilities were great. We were doing a Coast to Coast walk and Whalley was a good central point travelling from Lancashire coast east. Having a bath was a welcome relief! Whalley is a really lovely town and the accommodation is walking distance so you could enjoy a drink without having to worry about driving anywhere. Would definitely recommend, and be back if we are in the area again.

Thank you for choosing to stay at The Lodge whilst on your Coast to Coast walk in memory of your Dad. Hope you had a few relaxing days in Whitby. You’re all welcome anytime, with or without your walking boots! Thank you for leaving positive feedback , it’s much appreciated. Property Owner

We wanted to stay somewhere in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of cities but still in drivable distance to take our son to Uni in Liverpool. It was the perfect location for us. It is an absolutely beautiful house in a lovely area. The house is very spacious and has been fitted out to a really high standard. Everything is thought of, there are torches for late night walks, umbrellas, board games, books as well as a smart tv and Wi-Fi. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine too. Great views and good walks to be had around the stunning area. It is in a great location just a five minute walk from the village with it’s lovely little coffee shop/sandwich bar. Some nice pubs, wine bar, Italian restaurant, and takeaways. Julie, the owner is a truly lovely lady who is very welcoming. My husband and I hope to return again for a longer stay, maybe without the kids!!

Thank you so very much for such lovely positive feedback. You certainly had a busy few days ! It was a pleasure to have you all stay . Hope the long journey back home wasn’t too bad. We would love to welcome you back any time , with or without the kids, but please do bring Alfie Property Owner

On arrival she told us of local places to go, she went over and above even loaning me a waterproof jacket as I had forgotten mine! I cannot fault anything about the house, the facilities or the location. There was a great outdoor space to sit and relax in with a barbecue too. • "Excellent property, lovely and clean, spacious and although sited adjacent to the owners property felt quite private."

The lounge are was very comfortable with three really good sofas and plenty of throws and cushions. I found the bed in the main upstairs bedroom to be a bit uncomfortable, with a tendency to roll you to the edge, this may be a mattress or a base issue, it is only a very minor point. This is the only point were I would rate a 4/5 on the comfort with the overall stay definitely being a 5/5. Kitchen had all required for a short stay except for a freezer which wasn’t too much of a problem. Perhaps for these hot months a counter top ice maker would be a good addition. Lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. Host was excellent and very responsive, good local knowledge and engaging.

Thank you for your feedback. I have spoken to he manufactures of the bed, made a slight adjustment and all is good, Perhaps in the future I will add a freezer, however I do have bags of ice for my guests and I’m happy to put any frozen items in my freezer, I’ve done this before and it was a perfect solution. So glad you had fabulous weather whilst visiting your family,. It was lovely to meet you all and lovely Luna. Property Owner

  • "Such a unique property and location!"

We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at Julie's lodge. The Lodge at Bridgeway was exactly as described, spacious and comfortable to accommodate 6 people. Anything we needed was at our disposal, and Julie was always helpful and extremely responsive if we had any questions. Whalley is such a special village, perfectly based to explore all that the Lancashire countryside has to offer. The lodge is right on the public foot path to Springwood forest, an ancient woodland with beautiful wildflowers. There is also many walks nearby, including the hike up Whalley nab, a circular walk from the Aspinall Arms, and the many walks around Pendle Hill and the Forest of Bowland all within close distance. Restaurants in Clitheroe were also very easy to get to in approximately 10 minutes by car. In terms of local highlights, we enjoyed a lovely meal at King Street Kitchen just around the corner, and took full advantage of the sun-trapped patio on the property to enjoy ice cream from Holden's & Co. Jack's of Whalley was a great little bar with lots of gin options! And finally, having a train station with service to Manchester was a bonus. We hope to return to Whalley one day soon, and would not hesitate to book The Lodge at Bridgeway!

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, it’s very much appreciated. It was lovely to have you and your family to stay, you certainly packed a lot into your time at The Lodge!! Hope you had a great time in London.. Look forward to you visiting us again. Property Owner

We were met with a very warm welcome by Julie, who then showed us around. The property itself is beautiful and is set in a peaceful location. Inside it only gets better!!! It's immaculate, very spacious, has a lovely layout and feels very homely. We had a welcome pack of champagne, beers, tea, coffee, milk, bread etc, but knowing we were also bringing a dog, she had even supplied treats, food dishes, blankets etc for her. It has everything you need and more..we wanted for nothing. On occasions we met up outside, I was met with warm and friendly chats...Julie has a great sense of humour. She is very approachable and helped me on a few occasions letting the dog out if I was to be away for a few hours. I would definitely recommend this property as I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Even though we are only 4 miles away, if I have family to come and stay, or even for a break, I will definitely look at going back.
