  • "We’ve just had a lovely 3 night stay at the lodge."

It’s in a lovely setting and was very clean, tidy and spacious. The hot tub was great and was checked by staff each day, and as we were leaving it was emptied and refilled which was good to see. We had a very nice meal at the club house ,( a bit pricey but lovely food.) we would definitely stay at the lodge again. The only thing that was not very good was both the bathroom doors were not a good fit, (the en-suite door wouldn’t open properly and the other bathroom door didn’t shut easily), also the radiator in the en-suite had a slight leak. Non of this was a problem though, we had a great time thanks.

Thank you for your feedback. We will take a look at the doors and the radiator, appreciate you letting us know. Glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "To start; 1."

I was informed by email to contact you with regards the code for the barrier!!! The email contained 3 different phone numbers, one for for the Reception which was an automated service and gave no option to speak to anyone. Another was for the out of hours team, no answer on that number. The third was to Lake District Lodge Holidays, who didn't have a clue what I was talking about. The young lady Jessica, informed me that she would contact the Park and then get back to me, well I am still waiting for that call back, even though I rang LDLH twice!! and promised a call back on both occasions, and speaking to the same person, still no call back! Only to find that when we arrived at the Park, the barriers where up and no code was needed, so what a carry on for no reason. 2. Upon arrival the lodge seemed immaculate, but upon going to use the freezer, we found the freezer to require defrosting, only one drawer out of 3 could be opened, and all three drawers had something in them from previous occupants, including 2 bags of opened ice cubes. 3. There is no information about the lodge held within the lodge, local information or anything else, which would have been useful. 4. There is a Wifi code displayed in the lodge in a picture frame, but once connected there is no Wifi/Broadband what so ever, it does not connect to the internet. Yes the Signal is bad there for mobile, but to to have absolutely no Wifi/broadband when advertised as having it is terrible these days. 5. On Saturday morning the Electricity went off at 9:20am, which meant breakfast couldn't be cooked as we couldn't use the cooker, we couldn't wash or shower as there was no hot water. We couldn't use the hot tub, no TV etc etc.... We had a meal planned for my wife as it was her birthday at Lunchtime, which we couldn't go to as we couldn't get ready to go. The electricity came back on at 2:30pm. The lodge itself is very nice, but could do with the utensils and frying pans renewing. There was a fast era of knives and fork...and only 2 Tea Spoons!! which we found pretty bizarre. This was supposed to be a surprise weekend away for my wife and friends to celebrate her birthday, instead it was a bit of a nightmare. We are not the sort of people to complain but if you don't know how can you provide a service to the standards you are advertising. It states in the terms and conditions that a complaint should be directed to the lodge owner!! Who is the lodge owner? Where are there contact details?

  • "I’d like to start by saying we’ve had a great time at the site despite the weather, the kids enjoyed the swimming and the hot tub was a great bonus to relax in the evening and the rain didn’t affect the experience."

There are some defects with the cabin and it wasn’t left as clean as one would have hoped but, nothing too bad. The biggest disappointment was the attitude of some of the staff in the club and the fact that there was a limited amount of stock on both food & beverages and the excuse given was due to closing in a few days which I find unacceptable given we had paid for the full experience? In summary, despite the minor negative points, we would recommend this site and would hope to experience the facilities again in the summer.

The lodge is incredibly comfortable and well equipped the only thing that lets it down is the very poor wifi, leading to frustrated kids but I would still recommend the lodge to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in perfect surroundings. Maybe it could be looked into to see if there is any way to improve the wifi but all in all another great stay at Easdale Lodge

  • "We had a great stay at this lodge, it has all modern home comforts, tastefully decorated and is spacious inside and out, with a large furnished decking area, where we spent our meal times in the lovely sunshine and in the evenings."

(We were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather!) It is a 5 minute stroll to the lake shore marina through the site and there is a wooded area for dog walking. The location is between Bowness and Ambleside and we were able to kayak to both as well as across the lake to the West shore. The following comment is a negative for the site (not the lodge itself) but it did impact our stay at times… The reason we didn’t give full marks is due to the construction noise going on directly behind the lodge, which was unexpected and spoilt the beautiful surroundings. It was so peaceful when they weren’t working and so it has not put us off returning as everything else was perfect and hopefully next time we come, that particular plot will have been finished. Oh and of course, the hot tub is a wonderful addition, to relax in after a day of walking or paddling :-)

  • "The location of the lodge was perfect in a private cul-de-sac within the holiday park."

The sun shone down on the decking throughout the entire day. Close to amenities and Lake side. The maintenance of the lodge was poor, and with more care and attention to detail, or a few tightened screws it could have been much better, and the issues we found wouldn't have been noticed. The back door was off centre and difficult to lock, on arrival one of the bathroom lights was continuously flickering, no wash bowl or plug for the kitchen sink, unclean dishwasher on arrival, cupboard doors not securely fitted, broken kettle. As I stated a tightened screw and a little more attention to detail and the bulk of these issues would not have been evident. The main concern in regards to the maintenance and comfort was the the drainage issue that caused the entire lodge to smell profoundly of drain water/sewage, which you can imagine made our stay uncomfortable and unbearable at points especially on an evening after using the bath and shower. I used the Sykes customer service messaging system to report the issue on 28.05.23, got no reply, messaged again on 30.5.23 receiving a reply on 1.6.23 (6 days into or 7 day holiday). This left me disappointed for the seriousness of the issue I had reported not being made a priority or even acknowledged. To top things off there was a bees/wasps nest directly above the side door and entrance to the lodge. My father in law was stung on his forehead when exiting the building to access his car. This was reported to reception but again nothing was done about it. Another issue that made our time uncomfortable and on edge especially with three young children who wanted to enjoy the outside space. Sadly not the review that I hoped to be posting, but hopefully it can help improve what should be a very popular and pleasant place to stay in the Lake District.

The beds are very comfortable too. Just a few problems though. Internet signal for the TV was really bad, due to the poor park Wi-Fi. The washing machine was full of water and wouldn't drain. The freezer needed defrosting & was dirty. The bath plug wouldn't stay in to hold the water for a bath. The hot tub had loads of dirt at the bottom of it & also the floor around the hot tub was really dirty too. and very Slippy. The parking at the back is awkward due to a huge rock next to the allocated parking for easier access via the ramp. This is more of a fault of the park though. Also, the location of the lodge felt very cramped, like too many lodges had been squeezed into a small space. Wi-Fi on the park is a problem, it is hit & miss if you get a signal. This is something I discovered a lot of guests at this park had no matter where you stayed on the park. Really needs looking into. The restaurant is expensive for what you get. The shop doesn't have that much & was without milk for the last 2 days of our 4-night break. So, you're best going to the local spar for what you need. This is a dog friendly park but there isn't many pet waste bins around the park.

We only had a couple of minor issues, I had to clean under the bunk bed ( there were tissues and dirty socks left behind by previous visitors) my niece insisted we remove these) and there was no gas in the bbq, but perhaps this is not something that is included in the rental ? All the staff at the park were brilliant, we took a boat with us which we paid to keep on the Marina for the weekend, had a battery issue and Ian the Marina warden was brilliant at getting us going again. The only thing I would say is the travel cot provided was a little too big to fit in any of the bedrooms, a slightly smaller one would have been ideal although not an issue for most and it's just something to be aware of but Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend ☺️

During the course of the stay we had issues with the drains- the smell coming both the kitchen drains and the master bedroom drains was very upsetting as this was difficult to have a pleasurable stay due to the smell that was emitting from the drains. The stay was all in all a decent stay however due to previous stays on white cross bay this property did not live up the previous stays due to the errors found.

  • "We've stayed in a few lodges now with LDLH and having recently been renovated, the standard of Easedale lodge was amazing in comparison."

3 good sized comfortable rooms, modern clean bathrooms and kitchen and tastefully decorated throughout. Amazing built in blue tooth speakers in the ceiling which was a great touch. Really good sized hot tub which was perfect for us after miles of walking in the rain everyday. My only constructive criticism(s) would be; the kitchen is really well equipped, but so well equipped that when we arrived there was no empty cupboard for our shopping so we had to do a bit of shifting around before we could unpack. Also whilst there are signs warning that the decking is slippery when wet I do think that it would benefit from some sort of slip mat outside of summer as we all fell on it at some point, myself quite badly to the point 3 weeks on im pretty sure I've cracked a rib :-( no biggie as I'm mid 30s but could have been nasty for an older person. Overall fantastic stay over a stormy half term week and would definitely return to this lodge, the park itself have adapted the restaurant really well to fit in with current restrictions, limited tables and all food and drink ordered on an app and once you have the app you can order food to collect too! The bathroom was perfect for my needs. We loved the lodge itself and technically it is fully accessible it's just unfortunate that the owners have put a very thick carpet throughout the lodge!! Apart from in kitchen and bathroom areas. I went from being independent to totally dependent on my partner for everything as I couldn't push myself as the carpet was too thick!! Why would anyone install a thick carpet in a wheelchair accessible lodge is beyond me. If it was the carpet as you go in the front door of the lodge that would have been manageable but you would think flooring would have been more practical as I can't take my wheels off if they get dirty the way people can take their shoes off!! So the day we got caught in the rain I was worried about going into the lodge Incase I got the carpet dirty. I do have a picture but there isn't anywhere that I can upload it on this form. If the carpet issue was addressed then we would love to return as the lodge itself is brilliant!!! We would probably book lodge most years if i could push myself about the way that I can at home. But the more I was looking round the more issues we found, we couldn't believe that the dyson hoover was left full to the rim.... that my seam petty but it rings alarm bells to me as that such an basic thing to do..... the bath room is in need of modernising or some work doing, as when you finally get the bath run what take 20 mins as water from boiler would run cold with hot tap fully open so you have to nearly close the hot tap to slow the water to gain hot water... when the bath is nearly half full there is a big gap around the bath and even more when you in the bath..... so on that note we started to use the en suite shower room........ this room has a very strong smell of drains and not very pleasant when your only sleeping next to the door...... As an British Approvals for Fire Equipment inspector (BAFE ) I found that the Powder Extinguisher (stored pressure) hasn't changed....... the Extinguising went out of test in 2013 and was new in 2003.......... so this means this would make any insurance to be void on the lodge, but the main point is putting peoples life at risk if this unit was needed to be used, and this is the same for the fire blanket. So to some it all up this lodge isn't valve for money.................... What did you enjoy most about your stay? We loved our days out around the lake What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? we loved the town in Bowness

  • "The lodge was a perfect place to stay while we were in Windermere."

It was spacious and had a very homely feel. The weather was kind while we were there and I loved being able to eat all our meals out on the decking. It was very peaceful at nights and I slept well. The hot tub was a very welcome addition and was kept very clean and checked daily. My only gripe would be the shower in the main bathroom, went from freezing cold to boiling hot very quickly and not much in between. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location and the peace and quiet What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Brockhole - fun for all the family

    Miss Lucy SkeltonJul 2018

Location and facilities What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Nearby towns in easy reach

    Mr Brian FergusonJul 2018

  • "We stayed at this lodge primarily due to its location."

The lodge itself is fine, it is very well equipped for those who may have a disability, but not sot well equipped if you are able bodied. I have used Lake view lodges on several occasions to book lodges and they are great, the site White Cross Bay is a Park Dean Resort, but its not your standard holiday park. Definitely going back next year - but probably a different lodge. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Being with the family, and the Great North Swim What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Great North Swim

  • "My wife and I had a lovely stay at the lodge."

It was extremely well appointed and very comfortable. All our needs were catered for and it provided an excellent base to enjoy the lake district. After our stay we decided that hiring a lodge was infinitely preferable to a hotel room, which we had done in the past, so we will definitely return to White Cross Bay. The hot tub was a particularly nice addition to the lodge's amenities and added to the enjoyment of our stay. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Relaxing in the hot tub in the evening What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Enjoying local food and beer

    Ms Lorna GallacherNov 2017

From booking to the end of our stay the process was easy and efficient. The Lodge catered for all our needs and the facilities were good. Mr Andrew HarrisonSep 2017

  • "Stayed in the lodge Monday - Friday."

Lodge was lovely, location was nice; but not one person appeared during our stay to check chemical and water levels in the hot tub. I've stayed at many lodges before, and each one had someone who came round, daily, to check the hot tub. By day two our hot tub had lost water (due to four of us being in it) and, by the end of the week, the hot tub was very frothy and smelled a bit like algae. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Beatrix Potter In Windermere

    Miss Claire LangJul 2017

  • "On returning to a site and lodge we have previously stayed in ,in this beautiful part of the lake district we were disappointed that after a long drive on a hot day , due to a miscommunication our property had not received its pre arrival clean, however this was soon remedied by the efficient staff on reception and the cleaning staff they contacted."

being seasoned travellers to this area we did not let this detract from our stay and quickly put it behind us ,and carried on as usual enjoying a lovely stay in our favourite part of the country, and this wont put us off returning to the same site and lodge in future as it appeared to be a genuine oversight which was speedily dealt with. What did you enjoy most about your stay? addition of hot tub to lodge, brilliant weather and of course beautifull scenery and great facitities What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? if you are up for it a cycle up the struggle and a well deserved pint at the kirkstone inn

    Mr John AitkenJun 2017

  • "We were impressed with how accessible the lodge was for a wheelchair user - we knew the hot tub wasn't accessible but that wasn't a problem as my husband wouldn't have used it anyway."

The lodge was lovely and modern with everything you needed & helpful touches such as a radar key. The information folder was very useful recommending places to eat, shop etc. The park is beautiful & well maintained. The staff on reception & in the restaurant were all very friendly & helpful. We didn't want to leave & hopefully will visit again one day. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Just how relaxing it was. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The boat cruise - we did it from Bowness to Ambleside a 75 min trip.

    Mrs Anita WilliamsMay 2017

  • "The lodge was great."

Had full wheelchair access to all areas apart from hot tub, but I was able to use it. Access to bathroom was good as was a wet room. Lodge was clean and tidy with nice towels and bed linen. Only disappointment was that the owner's have de-comissioned the fireplace, as this would have been nice to have used. Parking at front although did discover space at back next to ramp to lodge. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Blue Bird Cafe on Coniston Water

    Mrs Carole CharnockMar 2017

  • "I found it a little noisy at night after 10, especially people in hot tubs but this went on no later than 11pm."

The food in the complex was disgusting and I could not eat my frozen to microwave lasagne. We took it back to our Lodge as we had the dog with us but it was like a piece of plastic thrown in a plastic box (actually looked like a blob of sick it was so bad). The Lodge was very clean and well equipped and we loved the relaxing hot tub. An enjoyable stay after a busy year, recharged batteries ready for next year. Just eat out in some of the local good restaurants and cafes. What did you enjoy most about your stay? close to walks and towns with good eating places What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? walking distance to local town

Its was just nice and relaxing What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Winderemere and Ambleside are both a short distance away.

    Mr Loucas LoucaSep 2016

  • "Easedale Lodge is a comfortable well equipped holiday venue."

It was immaculate on arrival and everything we might have needed was there. It is spacious, more than enough room for our party of three and one our party was in a wheelchair. The park throughout is very quiet and considering the size and the amount of people that were there we didn't hear any unwanted noise. On a downside, and this quite minor, at the bottom of the ramp to the front door there is some gravel which made it a little awkward for our wheelchair guest to negotiate and in the main bedroom we couldn't get the wheelchair round the end of the bed to get to the wardrobe. Apart from that, fabulous. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The location and the comfort. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? If you haven't been to the Lakes before, don't spend all your time around Windermere, there are stunning places to visit just a little further north.

    Mr Pete RowleySep 2016

  • "We arrived at the cabin, it was very clean and spacious, great location to explore the lake district."

The only fault we had was the drainage system we cut our holiday short due to the awful smell that engulfed the cabin on the Saturday night, we found it to be coming from the wet room.we had to move both our sons mattress and our mattress into the living room to sleep. The smell was that of sewage both myself and my husband vomited due to the smell.I did e mail the site to say we had a problem with the drains, they sent someone out the next morning, he said it was due to the cabin being in a low position in park and that it sometimes happens. The man poured half a bottle of flash down the drain. We decided we could not sleep in there for another night incase the smell came back. So we left a day early. For the amount of money we paid we were a little disheartened that the holiday had to be cut short. The lodge was beautiful but due to the incident we would not book this particular lodge again, but would return to white cross bay as we have holidayed there for many years now in different lodges. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The peaceful location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? we walked to the waterfall at high force

    Mrs Andrea MarattyAug 2016

    Miss Gemma EmirAug 2016

  • "Stayed from 1-15 July 2016."

The lodge was lovely but the new breakfast bar made it a little tight for my wheelchair. Everything else spacious and clean. Lovely location handy to everything in the Lake District. Hot tub not suitable for wheelchair users as down some steps. I usually get to and from my car myself but the surface of loose stones round base of ramp and car-parking area made it impossible without someone to help me. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The peacefulness in the park. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The South Lake Zoo - wonderful day out and you get so close to the animals.

    Mrs Barbara MacintyreJul 2016

  • "This lodge is beautiful, modern with NEXT accessories but very cosy."

It has new carpets and a lovely new kitchen containing everything you need. There is a tv with some free view channels plus two sky sports channels. It has a very large deck to sunbathe or sit with an 8 seater table with separate bbq area. It is situated in a little cul de sac to make it a bit more private and is a 2 min walk to the lake. You can take an open top bus to visit bowness but it's probably cheaper to drive and pay and display. Great location to explore the lakes. I would like to go back weather permitting. If you are taking children take bikes or other outside toys there is a picnics area next to the lake where they can play or there is room to play near the lodge. There is a children's play area which is small but ok. There is a pub onsite where meals can be purchased with a shop that sells very basic items. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Weather and the comfort of the lodge What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Boat trip on bowness

  • "Lovely lodge, very homley it has everything you need for the duration of your stay."

Very good value for the money way paid. We had the sunshine from the morning until it went down in the evening which was lovely when sat on the decking area having a bbq. Only five lodges in the little cul-de-sac. So very quiet on a night. Club house serves lovely reasonably priced food and big enough not to feel crowded. Shop is basic but good choice of things to buy. Very good position to visit windermere town centre and other attractions aren't that far to travel so overall great location. Try this lodge you won't be disappointed. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The whole experience in the lake district. The facilities for the wheelchair user were perfect, wheel-in shower, space to get to bed, ramp to front door. and a lovely rise and recline chair. The only small issue was that the fridge was difficult to access for someone in a wheelchair, but overall the space and quality were very good and would certainly consider using it again. For the comfort of other holidays guests we request that noise is kept to a minimum. Usage of the hot tub is between 10am and 10pm only. If you are found to breach these timings then you may be asked to vacate the park with no call for a refund.

All hot tubs are maintained to strict industry standards and HSE guidelines by separate qualified independent contractors on behalf of the property owners. This includes changing the water between guest stays and checking the water condition on a regular basis.

Whilst every effort is made to have a hot tub ready for immediate use by the arrival time stated, this may not always be possible. In such cases the hot tub will usually be ready to use later that day unless otherwise advised. In such cases no compensation or refund is payable unless the hot tub is faulty.

Information about using a hot tub safely is provided at all lodges with a hot tub and on a prominent notice near the tub. All hot tub users should wear an appropriate bathing suit.
