  • "No paperwork or signs to let you know hot tub not to be used after 10pm resulting in a complaint and warning from site."

We were very upset about this and made us feel uneasy during the rest of our stay as we thought we were being spied on. Our oldest daughter has autism and we needed to get her settled on the night we arrived that is why we were in the hot tub a little after 10 o'clock. Could not get Internet or free WiFi but this was solved by lakeland staff. Immediately the next day when got in touch, which was necessary for our daughters Ipad.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, we are sorry to hear you had an issue with the WiFi and we are pleased this was resolved for you. Regarding the hot tub curfew, it is advised when going through the booking system that hot tubs cannot be used past 10pm. We have looked into how we advise guests of this and have changed where it is viewable. Due to the pandemic, the information folders have had to be removed and they are in the process of being updated. Once this is complete, they will be placed back in. We do hope you were able to enjoy your stay and that you will visit us again. Property Owner

  • "Lovely, well furnished lodge with a great hot tub."

Parking is slightly awkward due to how the lodge is situated - it runs perpendicular to the other lodges on the same row. Compared to other lodge stays around the country a welcome pack with key information would have been nice, but not essential. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so glad to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry you found the parking to be slightly awkward and we take your comments onboard. We do hope you will return. Property Owner

    There is currently only 1.

Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly take onboard your comment, guests are supplied with 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for the duration of their stay and we do ask if you wish to have any extra to please bring your own due to the lodge being self-catering. The on-site pub was very disappointing - this was the second year we had gone there only to be turned away as they were not serving food.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry you found the mattress to be uncomfortable, we do find comfort is a personal choice but we will keep a close eye. We are sorry you were unable to be served in the restaurant, I'm afraid this is something is outside of our control and we can only apologise for the inconvenience caused. • "Great location."

Comfortable accommodation. Lovely hot tub. WiFi connectivity is poor.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased to hear you had a wonderful stay. The WIFI is a complimentary service provided by the holiday park (Parkdean Resorts) which is only suitable for page browsing and sending emails. Quality and reliability of connection will vary based on the number of people using it, prevailing weather conditions and therefore may be limited or slower than you are used to. We have brought the issue of the reliability of this service to the attention of the Park Management who are looking into this further. Property Owner

  • "We are a couple who enjoyed a delightful stay at Ewe View Lodge."

A beautiful park which we have stayed in several times over many years and we are never disappointed. Excellent for walkers and dog lovers, we were able to walk with the dog and relax with a pint in the pub that is a stone's throw away from the lodge and at the end of the day soak in the glorious hot tub. My only negatives were weak WiFi and an exposed frontage meaning Hot Tub wasn't totally private. Having said this the park was quiet and the frosted glass around the Hot Tub was sufficient. All in all these points did not detract from a highly enjoyable break. What did you enjoy most about your stay? We have stayed on the park before in a different lodge and enjoyed both stays. The hay barn is particularly good as it welcomes dogs. The shop is a little sparse but there were basic things in there, should you need tea, bread, milk. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Location makes it very easy to visit different parts of the Lakes. It's only 10 minutes drive or so to the nearest shops and pubs....theres a pub on site too with friendly staff and a pub grub type menu. The hot tub was great, and is private due to the frosted glass round that part of the veranda. All furniture, beds etc were comfy and in good condition. It was very cosy when you put the heating on. • "We enjoyed a Monday to Friday visit for my birthday during the first week in October."

This was our first visit to limefitt park. the in-laws had been 50 years earlier when it was a campsite and wanted to return. It was just my partner and I and our two dogs staying in this lodge. However, we had other family staying in near by lodges. the lodge was well laid out and equipped and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. It even had an iron, hair dryer and mini straighteners (just in case) Ewe lodge was in a perfect location, you did not feel over looked by other lodges and it was very close to the onsite pub. The staff in the reception and the pub were very friendly and helpful and the bar area was completely dog friendly, which was a bonus for us, with there being four dogs in our whole group. The Hot tub was an added luxury, which made the week that little more special. It did not have a cover to protect you from the rain and being in the lake district, rain is something to expect. However, if i did have a cover then we would not of been able to view the amazing consolations in the sky and a shooting star right from sitting in the tub!! Pretty amazing. The one negative i have is that; the carpets were cream. For a dog friendly lodge this filled me with anxiety. although we clean the dogs done, there is always that little bit of worry that you missed a paw. wooden floor or lino with a rug would be much easier to clean and less of a worry. Other than that we had an excellent stay and would definitely be returning to Ewe lodge in the future. What did you enjoy most about your stay? hot tub and amazing walks on the door step. • "Lovely presented lodge with nice views."

Hot tub was lovely and well maintained. Ample crockery and cutlery. Comfortable sofa with a good selection of entertainment. All in all had a lovely stay but the downside would be the cream carpet when taking a dog especially in the rain. Also it was tricky to obtain the key from the box outside (it wouldn't drop down easily). I also thought there would be amenities closer than they were as the shop onsite was not well stocked. • "Took my mum here for her 60th and she loved it, the lodge was very tidy and you could tell all expenses were made to make it as nice as possible."

Having the hot tub was great too if you just wanted to chill out after walking all day. The area was great, 5-10 minutes away from Windermere. I loved having a very spacious and secure decking area as i had 2 dogs. I ended up with a flat tyre on the day we were leaving but a member of the maintenance staff was quick to help. The only negative comments I could leave is there was a few hairs on the bed under the quilt which I assume were dog hairs. It was noticeable due to having dark sheets, the mattress was not the best but ok. We had a meal at the on site pub which was very nice but spoilt by screaming kids. I wouldn't mind as children can be loud but they were purposely screaming which was encouraged by their parents throughout the whole time we were there. I felt a member of staff should have asked the parents to keep the noise of their children down, obviously children need entertaining and you expect some noise but if my dogs were making all that noise I'm sure someone would make a complaint. Well behaved dogs are welcome, the same should apply for children. It is a family complex but people without children or with well behaved/controlled children shouldn't have to listen to badly behaved children when trying to enjoy a meal. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Arrived on Monday, and was an extremely easy process. Kitchen was well equipped, and clean. The only cleaning items missing that could have come in useful would be a mop of some description for the vinyl flooring. Had to travel to Kendal to get a weeks worth of food and such - expected due to where we were staying. Towels provided for both showering, and use of the hot tub, which was brilliant. Hot Tub chemicals were checked and such on the Friday, and caused no issues. TV and DVD player both worked. Central heating, and hot water was greatly appreciated due to spending most days out with the dogs walked and getting cold. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The Lodge itself was excellent and our dogs loved watching everybody go by on decking whilst we enjoyed the luxury of the hot tub which was very private and kept very clean The only thing which I was disappointed about was that there was no dishwasher. Don't like to wash up when I'm away on holiday. There is much to see in the surrounding area. We enjoyed hiring a boat and sailing around Lake Windermere. The pub on the site is a great bonus as we could take the dogs in and have a meal. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. What did you enjoy most about your stay? walking and the hot tub What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Hire a boat

Loved the way the lodge had all the things you have at home, like tin foil/cling film, washing up liquid etc, so didn't need to cart all the household stuff with you. Will definitely book again. • "Ewe View was the perfect place to stay for our trip to the Lake District."

After a 4 month tour of the Falklands I needed somewhere to relax and feel at home after a long days walk with my wife and the dog. The lodge had a distinct cosy feel and was in excellent order inside. Obviously well looked after and cleaned thoroughly between visits. As an added bonus the hot tub was a pleasure to relax in. I found it was great to sooth the muscles after a lengthy walk all day. The staff at Limefitt Park are friendly and helpful, and access to the park from the M6 is decent. All in all a great stay and many thanks for having us - we will be back again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? It was a blissful weekend, the lodge was beautifully situated, nestled in spectacular views. Loved my morning coffee on the front porch listening to the sheep as the sun came up over the hills. The lodge was very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. It was excellently geared up for the dogs with the secured decking area. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after a day's exploring, we slept like babies every night. It was our first time visiting the lake district and we are so looking forward to visiting again. I have already recommended our holiday to family and friends.

    Mrs Charlotte BoswellApr 2017

  • "We didnt want to leave we enjoyed our stay so much."

The park is immaculate and was quiet when we visited. The hot tub for us, and decking with secure gate for the dogs is absolutely brilliant. • "This is the 2nd time we have stayed on Limefitt Park."

The park is lovely and picturesque, especially in the Autumn, with a lovely 4/5 mile walk from the pub at the top of the park. I would not eat at the pub on the site anymore, we thought it was rather dirty, tables were very sticky even after we asked the waitress to clean them! The barmaid was coughing heavily as she was serving drinks behind the bar, which put me off having another drink! The lodge itself was lovely, however, we did stay in Lakeland View the year before, it was a leather suite which we did not like so looked for a lodge with a fabric sofa/suite which the photographs on the site showed, but when we got there, again a leather suite! I think the photographs need to be updated on the site. It also states in the booklet in the lodge that you can stay in the hot tub until 10pm at the latest, and we had a visit from the site manager to tell us we should not have been in as it was after 9pm, but not yet 10pm! This also needs to be clarified. The lodge was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay, very warm and comfortable, my only very small gripe was the tea towels which were left to use had an awful smell, like they had been used to wipe milk up as it was a very stale milk smell! A small gripe only. Other than that we had a wonderful stay. We will come again next year but plan to go to another site nearer Windermere town centre. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub, lovely park. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The walk from the Haybarn pub.

  • "On arrival, we were pleased with the lodge, location, cleanliness etc."

Having stayed in quite a number of lodges over the years, we felt this was on a par with some of the better lodges, a bathroom with a proper bath (compared to one where even a child would struggle to use it !) AND a separate shower (and 2 toilets!) Although the hose in the over bath shower wasn't properly connected (the washers were all twisted!), it didn't matter too much as the water squirting out was confined. I was also surprised that there was no cafetiere in the lodge, I have never stayed anywhere that didn't have one, so wondered if it had been broken & not replaced. I sent an email to the appropriate address. The washers were replaced on the shower hose the next day & the owner brought us a new cafetiere! (which was really nice, and rather unexpected, since I was only wondering if there should be one - there was a decent supply of instant in the welcome pack anyway), Such sterling service does warrant a special mention. The hot tub was great to relax in after a hard day walking the dogs around hills and dales (we were in the tub, not the dogs!) We were quite pleased with the pots & pans & utensils in the kitchen, so often you find non-stick pans all scratched & useless utensils (spatulas that melt at anything above room temperature!) so self-catering wasn't a problem, although we also ate out once or twice - the on-site eaterie wasn't too bad and there's a great chippy in Ambleside. All in all, a great place to stay. What did you enjoy most about your stay? I don't think there was any one thing really, everything was great. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Park up at Far Sawrey & walk to Wray castle. the dogs loved the freedom to be in and out of the water the whole walk & Wray Castle has a great tea room (loved the special bio-degradable, eco-friendly cutlery!

  • "I booked Ewe view lodge for the weekend as a birthday treat for the missus."

I was looking for a lodge specifically with a hot tub and found Ewe view via a google search. Upon arrival I was very impressed with the lodge, it was very clean, the hot tub was brilliant and the views were fantastic. We were told to bring our own towels for the hot tub but found that extra towels had been provided specifically for the hot tub which was a nice extra touch. The bed was very comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. The park itself was very peaceful and the onsite pub was just around the corner. so not far to stumble back to the lodge haha. All in all a brilliant weekend away, and will definitely be returning, hopefully for a week next time. Oh, and the weather hit almost 30 degrees, bonus haha. What did you enjoy most about your stay? • "All had a lovely time away."

Roomy log cabin, stunning views, 5 minute drive from windermere. Only niggle was the oven, took a long time to cook anything, and one of the hobs wouldn't light. Wouldn't put us off though. Good selection of dvd's for those duvet days with a hot chocolate to hand. The hot tub was amazing, nice way to relax before bed. The pub on sight is alright, nothing flash, dog friendly but doesn't quite fit in with the quality of rest of the sight. Nice food and not badly priced. Over all had a fantastic time and would love to return some time in the future. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Hot tub, views, the nice little touches. • "Set in an idyllic location."

Stunning views and very peaceful. The lodge had all home comforts and was very spacious and bright. The only let down for me was the hot tub. We had to ask an engineer out to change the filter because there was lots of bits floating about. Whilst he came out promptly and changed the filter he promised to come back with anti foam and he didn't. It didn't spoil our stay though. It was otherwise everything we wanted and the dog park was brilliant to let our dog off lead and play ball. Highly recommended. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The peace and quietness of the location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Bo'ness on Windermere is just a 10 minute drive away

  • "We were originally booked into White Cross Bay but due to the terrible flooding at the time we were transferred to Limefitt Park."

When I was told we could not go to White Cross Bay I was a bit disappointed as our original lodge booked had lake views but Mark and the ream had done us proud. Ewe View was gorgeous. There was a Christmas tree with lights, tinsel decorated the living area and the whole place smelt of Christmas. The reception staff were lovely and when I had trouble connecting to the free wifi at the park, Craig who was night security, spent quite a while sorting it all out for me, he was so helpful. You get so much more when you book with LDLH. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, toiletry packs etc, etc. It's those little touches that make a big, big difference. Despite the terrible weather conditions we still managed to use the hot tub which is screened by tinted glass panels. The owners even provided bath sheets for the hot tub. Everything you could need or want was on hand. We had a lovely meal at the Haybarn and the staff there were so friendly and attentive, it is a lovely place to go and relax after a hard day's trekking. Didn't want to go home.

    Mrs Jan PikeDec 2015

We found the lodge to be extremely clean on arrival and it is well equipped. We have stayed in other lodges at Limefitt Park before and this one was of the same standard that we have come to expect. The hot tub was an excellent bonus and wonderful after a hike! The Haybarn pub is closed weekdays until 5pm which was disappointing. The rest of the park was clean and peaceful. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Loved every minute of our long weekend. Me, my partner and my younger sister. And Molly the 10 month old springer of course. Lodge was everything we could have asked for. And some that we couldn't. Hot tub had daily use. Very nice after a long day of walking about. Short drives to visit pretty much all the walks we had planned to do as well as the aquarium in newby bridge. Lovely touch with the onsite pub allowing dogs in. Meant we could pop in for a quick drink with the pooch before taking her home for her own tea. Ate here a couple of nights and believe me, you would not go hungry! • "This is the 2nd time I have stayed at a property with Lake District Lodge Holidays, and no regrets either time, Ewe view was exactly what it is named a fantastic view with Ewe's in it, you are surrounded by fantastic view's on all sides and as an added bonus very close to the site Pub, which has a good selection of Ales and nice homely food, I recommend the burgers plenty of meat in them."

(we had no noise from the pub either so its close but not too close) The lodge itself was lovely and homely all we needed was there when we arrived, and the hot tub was fantastic to relax in after long walks, (tip) found out by accident that on the side of the hot tubs are two black switches if you don't think its Jets are enough these may be switched off. the lodge isn't really over looked except in the lounge back window that had louvre blinds, so this made it even more relaxing, Walks are all around you and you can walk to the Mortal man public house which has a fantastic beer garden as well as lovely food 10 mins walk. My dog was welcomed everywhere so this makes it a full family holiday that was a struggle to come back from. What did you enjoy most about your stay? and we probably picked the best time of year too! a beautiful and cost interior with a modern touch and everything you could possibly need in the lodge itself from cutlery to cooking aids, to brochures on local places to visit and things to do. the walk into Windermere is a fab thing to do while you're here although the roads aren't pedestrian friendly at times (no footpath) the on sight pub/ restaurant is food value for money and amazing food. best part about this lodge has to be the hottub though, absolutely amazing. even in the drizzle. so relaxing! will definitely come back :) What did you enjoy most about your stay? the hot tub and the views from the decking What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? walk into Windermere or bowness-on-windermere

  • "This was a family trip for us; sisters, late 20's and parents."

My sister and I had arranged this weekend as a birthday gift to our Father and we all also took it as a real and rare opportunity to spend some quality time together. I would recommend this park and the lodge to others - we had a fab time! A lot of that was to do with the company of course, but the lodge, jacuzzi (!), park and not forgetting the beautiful landscape, all topped the weekend off. This lodge is suitable for couples or family trips. Having said that, I don't think it would be ideal for very young children. A suggestion to the park; the reception should have at least brochures on the local walks. We were told to drive into the town 10 minutes away and go to the tourist information office for this. This was not overly useful when we wanted to start some small family walks direct from the lodge, without getting in a car. Overall, a fantastic weekend, one I will not forget! What did you enjoy most about your stay? The relaxing time spent with my family What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Just to get out in the nature - it's beautiful and that's why you're there, right!?

Limefitt is in a beautiful picturesque area within the Troutbeck Valley with many walks on the doorstep and also within easy reach of the main tourist attractions nearby. We would definitely recommend to all future guests. The Haybarn Inn is a nice pub on site that serves good pub grub and real ales and not to far to stagger back ha ha !! I recommend the steak and the fish and chips. What did you enjoy most about your stay? All the beautiful walks in the area and the tranquil setting of the park. What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? When we are at Limefitt the car never moves at all we always explore the local area-Wansfell Pike.Orrest Head, III Bell, Yoke, Troutbeck Tongue, Mortal Man,

  • "Ewe view is a lovely, clean lodge in a quiet spot of the lovely Limefitt Park."

We all had a great week here. Very peaceful and relaxing. The on site pub is great, the staff very friendly and it welcomes dogs too!! Unfortunately their sister park (white cross bay) would not allow us to buy a pass to use their swimming pool which was the only disappointment of the holiday!

    Mrs Clare ReynoldsSep 2014

  • "What a lovely lodge set in a fantastic park with everything you could need to enjoy a relaxing break away."

The staff were polite & helpful even providing our dog with a bowl of water whilst we ate in the Haybarn Inn where he good and service was excellent. The river pool and park with zip wire was a huge hit with my kids. The lodge itself looks out to a beautiful view and was clean & comfortable with a bathroom and en suite either end. The tea, coffee and biscuits left was a lovely touch. The hot tub was the highlight of our stay; sitting in the sunshine and light rain after a long day was so relaxing and providing separate large towels for it was a great idea. The location of the park is ideal for visiting the many beautiful places in the Lake District. Thank you for a wonderful break. We hope to come back soon.

The lodge was spotless, very well equipped and very comfortable. There were four adult plus our dog staying and the lodge was spacious. The Lodge is a credit to the owners, and the Hot Tub, how lush...there is a lovely little stroll down to the river pool, which our dogs loved (obviously only when there were not any children in sight) the dog field is great as the cannot get out. scenery is second to none, especially the view from our Lodge.... it took my breathe away. I have 2 tiny gripes( of which neither hindered my stay) the pub would be good at lunch time, and the shop could do with selling things like tomatoes, eggs, bit of salad .. A real home from home, comfortable, clean and very modern. The hot tub is a real treat after a long day walking and sight seeing! The area around the lodge is great for walkers and has some beautiful views up in the mountains. We loved Grasmere and Ambleside, two beautiful little towns. The homemade chocolate and fudge shop in Grasmere is worth a visit! Aira Force was a lovely morning out with a stunning waterfall. The paths lead you up from the bottom carpark right to the top. We was expecting to see just a waterfall, but there was some really pretty places to stop and take in the views, we wish we had taken a picnic with us. Our dog loved it, he was in taking a swim at every opportunity. We would highly recommend this place to anyone and we will definitely return. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Commercial vehicles, caravans, camper vans, Hen or Stag parties are not permitted onsite. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and are not be left alone in the lodges at any point during your stay.

You will be staying on an operational holiday park, which means work may be undertaken from time to time by the park owners during your stay. Although Lake District Lodge Holidays will always try to inform guests in advance if something may impact on a stay and if we have prior knowledge. We cannot be held responsible or accept any liability for park operations of which are outside of our control and which we have no knowledge of.

Hot Tubs

For the comfort of other holidays guests we request that noise is kept to a minimum. Usage of the hot tub is between 10am and 10pm only. If you are found to breach these timings then you may be asked to vacate the park with no call for a refund.

All hot tubs are maintained to strict industry standards and HSE guidelines by separate qualified independent contractors on behalf of the property owners. This includes changing the water between guest stays and checking the water condition on a regular basis.

Whilst every effort is made to have a hot tub ready for immediate use by the arrival time stated, this may not always be possible. In such cases the hot tub will usually be ready to use later that day unless otherwise advised. In such cases no compensation or refund is payable unless the hot tub is faulty.

Information about using a hot tub safely is provided at all lodges with a hot tub and on a prominent notice near the tub. All hot tub users should wear an appropriate bathing suit. Usage of a hot tub is at a guests own risk and Lake District Lodge Holidays accepts no liability for anything which may happen to a guest as a direct result of using a hot tub.
