  • "Just perfect."

Clean and well equipped. The location is ideal if you're having a car free holiday. We had some lovely days out just walking or by bus. Central but very quiet. We are very likely to book again.

Perfectly placed in Windermere town centre. Parking permit to a residents space very useful, though parking space a little difficult to find after 6pm. Would definitely come back

Good communication re the cottage prior to holiday very clean and well equipped for all needs and comfort only disadvantage parking was difficult despite one of our party having a blue badge would have no hesation in choosing Sykes again but having the accommodation with own parking

  • "Loved our stay at Lamb Cottage."

Very clean and well equipped also thoughtfully furnished. The little garden/terrace was a lovely sun trap and enjoyed for morning coffee and afternoon tea. Perfect for those who do not use a car as really good public transport links nearby and close to good restaurants and shops.

  • "The cottage is really clean and comfortable, and just on the doorstep of the many quirky gift shops and restaurants in Windermere."

The kitchen is well equipped, and we loved the cosiness of the wood burner in the evenings. We were able to venture further north into the Lake District from this location, as the cottage is close to the bus routes. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we would definitely stay at Lamb Cottage again.

It's near shops/pubs etc, but feels set back and so quiet. Book it, you'll love it.

Cottage had everything we needed. Parking was fine nearby, particularly as it was off-season. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage."

Convenient base for walking and exploring the lake district. Lots of restaurants nearby but we mostly self catered in the well equipped kitchen. Even on August Bank Holiday weekend we always managed to find parking, sometimes a couple of streets away but no problem. 30 min walk to a lovely spot for swimming in the lake.

  • "So just few problems but all in all a nice place."

A few small things the rug in living room had a bad smell, the WiFi was very poor, no contact number left if any problems arose as they did. WiFi did not work and the boiler broke but phoned the Sykes number and they were fixed.

  • "The cottage really needs updating and freshening up."

It didn’t really feel clean and was very disappointing to being staying somewhere like this on holiday. Only good thing was it’s location.

  • "Perfectly located, Lamb Cottage has everything you need in a home from home, and everything works."

It is cosy, clean, comfortable & well equipped and we’ll be more than happy staying there again. Next trip I will try & remember to take a torch, it is not easy reading the numbers on the key safe located in the outhouse.

  • "The cottage was lovely, slightly larger than expected and well equipped."

It would have helped to have more indication of equipment provided beforehand eg. hairdryer, basic kitchen cupboard ingredients etc. Double bed in main room is quite small and not very comfortable. Most people would expect a king size these days I think.

  • "One of the few cottages that we would consider booking again, very pleased with it."

One complaint, though: In this day and age, good broadband is a must, not a luxury. The broadband in the cottage suffered from some serious throttling in the evenings to the point where it was unusably slow. Other than that, no real complaints.

Very pretty cottage from the front but could really do with a make over inside and out the back, this isn’t a bad reflection of yourselves but the cottage could be so much more

  • "The cottage inside was exactly as described and perfectly fine but there are a few things that maybe need an update regarding the outside."

There is roadside parking with a permit provided but this is not in the street where the cottage actually is as the street outside is fully double yellow lines ... the nearest space we could find was three streets away as all houses in the vicinity have access to the same permit parking. Also there is a courtyard area but this is also a thoroughfare for two other houses and so it isn’t actually secure for the pooch as we expected.

  • "The property is ideally placed within Windermere center which warranted the price for 3 days stay."

The facilities are good but give the price paid i would have expected a little more effort to the house keeping/presentation. In particularly, the laundry was not appropriate, towels and bedding smelt fusty and unwashed which was a shame as this influences the perception on other elements of the property. The water pressure isn't the best but coupled with a very poor shower head that sprays water everywhere except where you want it was a shame. A simple low cost fix that could improve anyone's stay at the property. All that said, we enjoyed our stay.

  • "We were pleased with the cottage and especially its location in windermere."

The cottage was lovely and had all the equipment we needed for our stay. Cleanliness was ok These are a few factors which would make it much better: Bed wasnt that comfortable and the style of the bed unsuitable for tall people ars bars at bottom get in the way. The bed was very squeaky when you moved. 2 chipped glasses and a broken mug were in the kitchen cupboard. A sock from the previous peoples stay behind cushion on sofa. Dirty glass in main bedroom from previous peoples stay. Lighting is awful....very dark. But on the whole it was a nice place to stay.

  • "Had an amazing time at our recent visit to the Lake District and stay at Lamb Cottage."

The cottage was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities needed for a self catering break. Very well situated for easy access to all the shops, bars and restaurants in beautiful Windermere with a co-op and Sainsbury’s local a stones throw away. We found no difficulty in parking on the adjacent street Provided a great base for exploring the lakes and the cottage was very comfortable for crashing after a long day hiking. Highly recommend

Central for restaurants, pubs and shops.

  • "The cottage was in a very central location to the town centre."

A parking permit was supplied. The cottage appears clean on the surface, but closer inspection left a lot to be desired. A kitchen cupboard door was hanging off it’s hinges, leaving the cupboard unusable. This problem should have been addressed on cleaning and inspection before the arrival of guests. The back door was difficult to open and close and at some point, a thick layer of grease had been wiped onto the door edge in the hope of making it easier to close.

  • "Cottage was superb."

Nicely designed to be modern enough for people's needs without taking away the character of the cottage. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment and living room was comfortable and contained good supply of books and games. Find of the week was the Ordance Survey maps and up to date information leaflets in the kitchen unit which really helped us to plan days out. Cotrage was clean and well presented, 2 towels provided per person. Really enjoyed our week and would definitely look to book again as the location was central to Windermere and an easy walk to all shops, pubs and restaurants. Parking was never an issue as we always found a space.

  • "The location was excellent and cottage was well equipped."

However, the overall size of the main bedroom could easily support a 'king size' bed rather than the double bed provided. There was a strong smelling reed diffuser air freshner that was more of an irritant rather than a background neutraliser. We put it in the cupboard whilst we were in house. Apart from that we had a fantastic holiday.
