    “Stunning week in White Cross Bay and one of the best lodges we have stayed in.”

    Location is 5 star and we spent even in October several afternoons sitting with a glass of wine over looking Windermere.

From the moment you arrive in the Lake District there is a huge choice of activities and things to see as you take in Britain’s latest World Heritage Site – it’s the only National Park to be recognised for such status.

The property

Marina View offers modern and stylish accommodation in an unrivalled quiet lake-front location at White Cross Bay, with views across Lake Windermere.

Sleeping up to 6 guests plus an infant in a travel cot, this is luxury accommodation with stunning views across Windermere and the mountains beyond: an ideal base from which to explore the national park, you can imagine waking up and enjoying your morning coffee as the mist rises on the lake, or a sundowner in the evening.

With bright & spacious open plan living and dining area, flat screen TV, DVD, and plenty of seating and dining room you’ll enjoy spending the evening chilling out with a film, discussing your day or planning for the next one!

The stylish kitchen has everything you need to cook up a sociable meal for everyone.

Outside the large decking is another outdoor room, with comfortable seating and views to the lake through the trees where you may fancy eating al fresco.

The 3 bedrooms are a king with ensuite, and 2 twins, all have storage and TV and there’s a family bathroom with bath & shower too.

Your lodge is positioned close to the beautiful White Cross Bay, looking out across lake Windermere itself.

Views all around to the fells and the countryside will inspire and relax you.

There’s a pool, club house and other amenities on site too.

Note: Some facilities on the park are subject to extra cost such as use of the pool, gym, entertainment, bar and restaurant.

500 yards up the main road is Brockhole Lake District Visitor Centre, with lots of activities to enjoy: gardens, house, café, restaurant, walks, boats, adventure playground and Tree Top Trek.

You’re also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and a mile further on is Bowness – a lively village boat landings, with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction.

Three miles in the other direction, you find Ambleside, with its shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and walks in every direction.

Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: the Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House.

Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater.

A lovely spot to spend your time in the Lakes making memories with loved ones.

About the location


Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

Region Information

Marina View is accessed by 6 steps. The lodge is then all on the same ground floor level.

A travel cot and highchair are provided within the lodge. They are kept in the master bedroom wardrobes.

We are unable to accept single sex groups or groups of adults under 25 years old within Marina View Lodge.

Although Marina View Lodge does not accept dogs, the lodge owners do occasionally take their own dog when staying.

White Cross Bay has its own onsite facilities. You will need to purchase a complex pass from reception which includes the use of the pool, gym, entertainment and access to bar and restaurant. The prices are subject to change by park management.

Subject to White Cross Bay Holiday Park rules:
Commercial vehicles, caravans or camper vans cannot be parked on the site.
Hen or stag parties are not permitted.

There is a Good Housekeeping Bond of £100 for this property.
