Myself and my partner have just got home and can’t fault the lodge or site. It catered to exactly what we needed, it was warm and the facilities were as described. It’s in a great location, we were a 5 min walk to the marina and 2 mins to the bar/shop. We’ll definitely be staying again! :)

Thank you got your lovely review, and we agree that the lodge is in a great location for the local amenities. We are very pleased to hear that you loved your stay, we can’t wait to welcome you again soon. Property Owner

The water in the bath and overhead shower in the main bathroom was luke warm and inadequate to bathe in. The water pressure was also low. The was no instructions for the oven. It also could of done with a good clean.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear of the few issues you encountered during your stay. • "The lodge itself was comfortable and nicely presented, but the lodges nearby bit untidy which spoilt the outlook from inside the lodge, could do with a hairdryer, booklet with instructions on how cooker etc work."

Bit more detail required with cleaning, not lodge owners problem but contractors. Other than this lovely lodge.

Thank you for valued feedback. Thank you for the suggestion of having instruction booklets in the lodge, these were removed in the lodges due to Covid but are now being updated and will be replaced. The cleaning matter will be passed onto our housekeeping Manager. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "Firstly, I would like to note the furnishings within the lodge were lovely and the owners have went above and beyond, well presented which made for a very comfortable stay."

The facilities within the park were great and the location was also great as Brockhole was walking distance as was Windermere. The only negative was that some of the children’s entertainment which was advertised didn’t actually go ahead and the staff opted to open a cabinet full of cheap lighting toys to sell to the kids - they weren’t expensive but I did feel for the kids who didn’t get a toy and it was only luck that we had cash on us as we were paying for food and drinks vi the app (which was a great service). Staff were great with the kids. However, we did have some issues which were completely avoidable. Firstly, it became apparent quickly that the standard of cleaning prior to our arrival was not to a good standard in the bathroom and en suite. The cleaners had wiped with a towel and the WC’s weren’t good. There was a leak with the en suite radiator which was cleared 2 or 3 times a day and caused the boiler to cut out during the night due to a lack of pressure. This was no issue for myself but could have been an issue for others. Finally the living room did have a strong smell of dog which a plug in air freshener would have removed. I would certainly return to this park in the future as it seems to offer better facilities than Fallbarrow, however the location is Fallbarrow is, in my opinion, more attractive given the proximity to Windermere.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay in the Lakes. The entertainment is run by the Park and not under our control. The cleaning issue in the bathrooms has been passed to our Housekeeping Manager to look into and the radiator problem has been passed to our Maintenance Manager to look into. We apologise for any inconvenience these issues may have caused. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful time."

The Lodge is lovely and the facilities are great. There are a couple of ways in which things could be improved. Firstly, there was very little information about the lodge and how the appliances worked or the central heating etc. The shower leaked in the en suite. But most importantly, when I visited reception in my wheelchair to purchase our entertainment passes I was confronted with a reception desk a mile high which, if I had been unable to stand up at all, would have presented a considerable bardier. As it is, it presents an unwelcoming face to wheelchair users. It would be very easy to provide a lower section of the desk to make it accessible for all. But overall, we loved it!

Thank you for the review. Despite a few things not quite right for you we are pleased that you had a wonderful time. Noting the shower is leaking, thank you for letting us know and we will get our maintenance team to fix this. The lodge does have an information folder that includes instructions although as a precaution these were removed due to the pandemic. In time these will be put back. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by these matters. Your further comments relate to the park and we shall pass these on to the park management for their reference and hope they take them on board. We are delighted that overall you loved your stay at Pine Tree Lodge, It’s a great place to stay! Property Owner

  • "The lodge was clean warm and dry and fine for our four nights, however there were some problems too."

When arrived the lock broke in front door, alerted team on site who then were unable to sort. This door was then locked and for rest of holiday we had to use the patio door. This involves walking over very slippery deck all the time and as it rained constantly the carpet was very wet by the door as there was no mat. We had to request a hairdryer and sharp knives as only a bread knife available. We did ask for a mat but one not provided and the staff member said he would clean the decking again this was not completed. What did you enjoy most about your stay? • "We stayed as two couples and a dog."

The Lodge was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The en suite bedroom and separate bathroom gave each couple privacy. The Lodge was clean and well maintained. Being only 2 miles outside Ambleside and a few miles to Bowness gave good access to the lakes. We were blessed with fantastic weather and enjoyed sitting out on the ample decking. Due to the positioning (and the fact there was no one staying in the unit on the one side), the Lodge felt private although the site was busy. It was also very quiet at night. We would definitely return. One minor point - it would have been useful to have a clothes airer to dry towels. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Everything! What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? The walk to Grasmere via the cafe on the lake at Ambleside that sell the best blueberry scones.

The large enclosed decking which runs most of the way around the cabin, meant we could let Fudge potter outside by herself with complete confidence. We had a really chilled time and it was like a home from home. The facilities in the resort (White Cross Bay) were excellent and it is well placed for all your sightseeing requirements. • "The first time we have stayed in a lodge and the experience we had booking with Lake District Lodge Holidays and staying at Pine Tree Lodge will mean it will definitely not be our last."

We booked this stay travelling with another married couple to celebrate our wedding anniversaries. The booking was very straightforward - easy instructions and plenty of information. The communications from Lake District Lodge Holidays was very good and timely. The lodge itself was a good size for the two couples and comfortable. I liked the feeling that the furniture gave it - as if you were sitting in a lounge. The kitchen area was well stocked. A little gripe is the mix of different cutlery which is probably due to replacements over time. Nice touch to include the 'starter' washing up pack and the dishwasher means less time spent washing up and more time to enjoy the stay. I suggest the tea towel could be better - the material does not actually dry but again a very minor point. I mirror in the twin bed room would be a good addition especially for when adults are using it (I imagine teenagers would also like this). The lodge is also in a very good position to enjoy any sun that we are lucky to get. Just to note that I have scored 'Value For Money' as Good as this was a short weekend break that works out on the higher side, however I understand the reasons behind the pricing structure. All in all a very enjoyable stay What did you enjoy most about your stay? The comfortable seating area What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? • "Booked pine trees lodge 4 week before we went and I'm so glad we did."

We had 2 dogs with us and I can honestly say you wouldn't know this lodge accepted dogs as it was so clean . The lodge was well equipped and the ensuite shower was great. The weather was ok but as we live in Cumbria we're used to it and when the sun was out it was nice to sit out on the decking the dogs loved sitting out there. It's not far to walk to the lake a few minutes and the site is between Ambleside and Windermere . Can't review the entertainment because we had dogs and there not allowed in the bar but you can sit outside in a beer garden . Outside the site you find a lot of places are very dog friendly we had our dogs on the ferry and buses. We've enjoyed this holiday so much we've booked for next year ,we have booked the sister lodge to Pine Tree (Tall trees) only because it has a hot tub if Pine Trees had a hot tub we would have booked it again. • "Our family went for a long weekend at the start of October half term."

(2 adults and 2 girls 4 & 6 years) The weather didn't look good, raining on arrival, but we were met with a friendly smile at reception. Found the lodge easily and were impressed with the key box.The lodge was warm and well stocked with essentials, tea/coffee and kitchen pack.A variety of tourist information also available. All rooms were a good size: bedrooms, bathrooms and lounge/diner area. Lodge appeared clean and tidy, shower heads perhaps needed a thorough clean or replacing as they looked at bit tired. Plenty of towels provided and extra duvets if required. A fire in main living area gave additional heat when needed. The facilities at White Cross bay were good, if not a little tired. We used the pool facilities which were good, however there were not enough changing room facilities for the amount of people using them and they weren't very well maintained or cleaned. Windermere and Ambleside within a short drive, plenty of eateries can be found and couple of supermarkets which I would recommend for variety and price. I would definitely recommend a visit to white Cross Bay and Pine Tree lodge. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The setting What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Beatrix Potter Attraction if have children

    Mrs Tracey CasserlyNov 2014

  • "We had a nice few days at Pine Tree Lodge."

Having previously stayed in a lodge at Limefitt Park, Pine Tree suffered by comparison but in general this did not effect our enjoyment. The park itself was very quiet and nice to walk around, especialy down by the lake. The pool was a nice addition but there were odd opening hours which made it less accessible. The lodge could do with a really good deep clean and it would be nice to have a welcome book outlining general instructions and information, but overall we had everything we needed. What did you enjoy most about your stay? The peace and quiet What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? A trip on Lake Windermere

    Ms Claire LloydOct 2014
