“The information booklets were in an upstairs wardrobe - to have been left on the dining table or kitchen unit would have been a better and easier location to have found them.”

We had to ring up about getting into WiFi which was located on the back of the monitor. Clearer instruction on where to find the code and password would have been helpful. Perhaps we are just getting older!! We were also a little confused as to how to work the central heating system and all we needed to do was increase the temperature on the white disk in the dining area on the dresser.

Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

The property

A traditional stone townhouse near the heart of Windermere, Walkers Rest has shops, restaurants and Lake District attractions not far from its front door.

Walkers Rest is a roomy townhouse that is ideal for families or small groups of friends who want to be both centrally located for Windermere town and able to enjoy the tranquillity of the Lake District.

The cottage can sleep up to six people and offers a warm welcome for up to two dogs.

In the cosy living room, guests can enjoy watching TV while relaxing on a comfortable leather sofa, or watching the world go by from the window seat.

The spacious kitchen/diner offers everything you could need during your self catering break, including a Rangemaster cooker and TV.

There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, as well as two well appointed bathrooms - a downstairs bathroom and the family bathroom upstairs, featuring a shower with a contemporary and invigorating large rain head fitting.

Accessed through patio doors from the kitchen/diner, outside you’ll find a private courtyard with patio furniture.

There’s off street parking for one small car.

While Windermere town has plenty of shops and restaurants, a little more locally you’ll find a small supermarket and a village high street full of independent shops and restaurants.

Further afield, you’ll find the town of Bowness, and with Windermere lake just twenty minutes’ walk from your door, you can enjoy a lake cruise or hire a rowing boat to make the most of the picturesque scenery.

The perfect base for your Windermere stay, mix modern style with traditional Lake District living at Walkers Rest at any time of year.
