  • "Owner over reacted to poo mark on the decking outside."

Got told to leave two days early with no money refunded. She goes in the property and snoops around when your not in. Work holiday ever.

Thank you for your feedback. The property owner was very upset at how her property rental was treated during your stay and regrets allowing you to take 4 dogs. She was concerned when she went to sort your recycling and then found all the bedding drying outside and dog mess on the decking. When she found evidence of dog urine inside the property and that your dogs had been allowed on the furniture, this is when you were asked to leave as the booking conditions had been broken. She had allowed you to leave on the Friday morning which was one day early but you left during the night before instead. It has cost her time and money to get the property back to the usual high standard due to the property being mistreated which is why no refund is due. Property Owner

Decent enough folk but paying guests who have travelled for a quiet break deserve their privacy respected.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you felt that the small party we had for my husband's 60th was intrusive; we did not at all intend to disrespect your privacy and even invited you over after advising why we had some friends and family over. The guests had moved into our home by 6:30pm and everyone has left before midnight. Had you knocked or told us of your upset, we would have asked people to leave earlier but did not think the noise levels were high. We are sorry for any upset caused but do hope you had a lovely stay otherwise. Property Owner

I have never stayed in a holiday cottage with such a clean kitchen before and the modern colour of the kitchen units was a treat. There is just one small criticism. It is equipped with everything anyone could need. It was spotlessly clean and the owners are delightful people. Nothing was too much trouble for Anita. The weather was a little disappointing (but Sykes and our hosts cannot change that!) however the location and the views from the cottage are spectacular. One little point to make is the seating at the breakfast bar - the stools may pose a difficulty for anyone with mobility issues. Coming off the M6, no indication of Tarn Lane. After nearly an hour of going round in circles more or less, we went back on the motorway to the previous junction and followed the road signs to Carnforth. Then on, it was easy to find. On asking Anita and Bernard when we arrived, even they said they hadn’t heard of Tarn Lane.
